Answer:	Yes, it does a great job of cooling and a decent job of heating a room in our home. I would call it supplemental heat-if it isn't going to be super cold (-30), it should be fine!

Answer:	I examined the housing carefully and I don't see anyway of opening it. No tabs or screws. I have an air compressor, so I just blow it out like I do with my PC tower.
