Question:	I want to install this on a 1" thick wood desk... Is there any way of doing this without the screws popping through the surface
Answer:	The screws it ships with are longer than one inch, so given what it ships with no. I'm sure you could use shorter screws, but then you'd have to be careful about how much weight you put in the rack. If mounting it on a desk, I'd consider drilling holes through the desk and then use nuts and bolts to secure it, not screws.
Question:	I want to mount this to the bottom of my desk.. The desk is 1" thick. Is it possible to use this without the screws poking through the desk
Answer:	You might consider gluing a few pieces of hardwood, one under each corner of the bracket. Then you'll still have the length of screw thread that the manufacturer was expecting, and a modern glue will be as good a bond to your desk as if it were solid. A few extra square inches will help spread the load across the surface. Then again, if your equipment isn't that heavy, 3/4" inch screws may be plenty. Just make sure to use screws with a large diameter and the right threads for the type of wood in your desk, and pre-drill pilot holes, to maximize the surface area and 'bite' effectiveness of those threads. If you have access to a drill press or similar, you might consider adding a few extra holes in the bracket in-between the existing ones. Using more of a shorter screw will be somewhat equivalent to fewer long ones, since this bracket is already sturdy enough to spread the load across them. Hope this helps (late to the party, I know - but in case anyone else has a similar question...)

Answer:	Can be mounted vertically or horizontally. It depends on the application. If you need to hold say a broom handle, mount it vertically, if you need to hold a run of hose horizontal to the ground, mount it horizontally.

Answer:	I use them to hold a couple of umbrellas up on my porch and the awesome!!! When clamped they hold fast and nothing twists, hope this helps.

Answer:	For something fairly light (not a heavy string mop,) I'd imagine a vertical hold wouldn't be a problem. I use mine to hold my staff and a couple of canes in my motorhome.

Answer:	You need to download an exploded view of your Uberti Cattleman. That will tell you exactly what screws are used in the gun. Then look to the Pachmayr screw kit list to see if it is included in the kit. More than likely it will be found in the Pachmayr screw kit. The kit has always met my needs for replacement screws.

Question:	hello this is the rack that come with holes ready for the screw or the one you have to attach a piece in the hole to support the screws
Answer:	My setup is on a wall, using 6 ft pvc schedule 40 plumber's pipe that is 2" diameter from Home Depot. I am using 5 ft wide backdrops. There is no sag in the pipes at these lengths (6 ft). On the horizontal plane after assembly, the most outside elements are the knobs on each side. On my setup, the distance from the edge of the pipe to outside edge of the knob is 5 1/4 inches on the chain side and 4 3/4 inches on the non-chain side. This can vary since the expansion rods can be inserted further into the pipe than is necessary, which would reduce the overall length. I believe there may be several inches of extra play available. The distance from the edge of the pipe to the center of the chain side bracket (the hooks) is 3/4 inches. The distance from the edge of the pipe to the center of the non-chain side bracket is 1 1/4 inch. I mounted the chains on the right side. There is a groove that the chain side expander has that fits at a specific angle onto the bracket. It fits only one way. It will ensure that the chain guard (horizontal plastic piece) is horizontal and to the front. After I assembled and mounted things, I realized that it may be possible to mount the chains on the left side. There is a second groove in the chain side expander that is at a different angle. I assume that is the groove used if mounting on the left side. The instructions are not detailed but point you in the general direction for assembly.

Answer:	I'm using inexpensive 2" PVC conduit for tubing for 72" backdrops. PVC might get a little saggy spanning 107" but for $7 at most hardware stores probably worth a try before spending $60 or so on aluminum tube. Not sure what you meant by "...hang with time"
