Answer:	Many new computers can read/write to SD cards, but the Micro SD cards are used in smaller devices. (ie phones, tablets, etc...). If you want to transfer something from your tablet or phone, and you don't have your usb cable, you can put your micro SD card in the adapter and read it on your laptop or PC. It's just nice to have more options to transfer files if one way doesn't work.

Now this card can READ up to 45 megabytes/second, however the write speed is only up to 20 megabytes/second. But this is FINE because as you can see above this is more than 3x the write speed the GoPro needs. So yes this card works fine and will probably work fine for many future models as well. However, in reviewing http://lib.roland.co.jp/support/en/manuals/res/1811531/Fantom-X678_r_eA.pdf, page 5 says it will accept CompactFlash memory cards. However, per http://www.musiciansfriend.com/resources/article/Roland-Fantom-X/m711821, it appears the keyboard has a PC card slot for data backup with a 1GB capacity so assuming this is a standard socket, you'd only be able to use 1GB of the 8GB available on the Transcend CompactFlash. Regarding speed, I use mine in a Canon camera capable of producing 6 raw frames a second so this should be no problem in the Roland environment.Note that my response is not a wholesale blessing for the use of the subject Transcend CompactFlash memory card, but it appears it will work though you'd only be able to use 12% of its capacity (1GB of 8GB).
