Answer: Standard VESA pattern in back. We swap them out all the time. Only possible issue is that the cables plug in next to the mount, so you might need right angle cables.

Question: is there a volume mute button? I see volume up and down but not mute
Answer: The feature you have to worry about is the "wireless" feature. I don't think wireless was that popular when Microsoft XP was on the market. I would opt for a regular simple keyboard. Try Logitech brand. They make simple, basic keyboards. If you need encryption like the Microsoft keyboard offers, you could compensate for this with the Logitech brand and just make sure you have a good virus protection software like MacAfee or Norton. I have a Dell desktop now for at least ten years. My keyboard is simple basic. I doubt that it has an encryption feature. But I do have Norton virus and internet protection and update yearly for about $79.00. My computer works fine. I've used my daily now for three years. ......... I checked the Microsoft store for compatibility, and the menu did not even list XP operating system. But it did show Windows 7. Computers these days are all about connecting wirelessly and integrating with cell phones and laptops. If you must have this keyboard, you will have to update your operating system to at least Windows 7. I have Windows 7. I hope this helps.

Answer: I am responding to this question as I ditched this keyboard for a lower profile and quieter Logitech K800. The Logitech is a sweet keyboard and although I liked the Microsoft keyboard, I much prefer the K800.

Answer: Sorry if this answer is a bit late - only 4 months lol.By default, those buttons will launch or switch to things on your Windows taskbar, in order from left to right. So say on my task bar, I've got Windows Explorer pinned next to the start button, Chrome to the right of it, Notepad++ to the right of that, etc - if I hit the 1 key, it launches Windows Explorer, 2 launches Chrome, etc. If they are already open, it will switch to those programs instead.These keys can be changed to launch other things instead, in the keyboard software.Hope this helps!
