Answer:	Doesn't feel nearly as good for smaller hands. The D Pad is very fragile. If you use the D Pad for movement, then be aware that the D Pad on the Tartarus is fragile and you may end up with something that only moves in 3 directions after some months. I actually wish Logitech still produced their G13. May have to eBay one, becuase my luck with the Tartarus gamepads is bad. The D Pad always renders them unusable. My N52 lasted for 14 years (and is still working, gifted to a friend). I can't get these Tartarus to last more than 6-7 months.
Question:	what is the difference between the mecha-membrane and the mechanical version
Answer:	Mecha Membrane is a typical modern soft touch quiet keyboard. The softer membrane switches that are common. But good quality ones. The Mechanical is the clicky style full or half stroke mechanical switches similar to the Razer greens or the cherry mx blues. The membrane version is much much quieter, with a softer feel to it. The mechanical has louder distinct clicks and a crisper more solid feel to the keystroke more like an old school keyboard. One isn’t better than the other. It is just a matter of which you prefer and how you learned to type. Do you use a lighter touch on the keys? Is noise an issue in your gaming room? Do you prefer a more solid keystroke with a more distinct activation point?

I mounted mine on a piece of 2"x4" (lengthwise, about 16" long) and buried it right by the concrete on the driveway close the house. I painted the entire thing with clear lacquer (spray paint) so the weather wouldn't deteriorate it. It works great!

Answer:	The anchors included can be used for concrete, stone or tile. You will need a 5/16" bit and drill the holes 1-3/8" deep. This is directly from the instructions printed on the side of the box.

Answer:	I first purchased this item at Bed and Bath. Will not bathe with anything else. Question:	Do you need the keypad with the base station
Answer:	Yes, you can. In the software, you first assign ctrl to the key, then "split" that into ctrl-down and ctrl-up. Between them insert the shift, then split THAT into shift-down and shift-up. Finally, insert the F1 key between the shift-down and shift-up events. Sounds confusing, but once you load up the software it's not too hard to figure out. Hope that helps!

Answer:	Yes it works perfectly with multiple keypads. I have a gen one at my front entrance as well as a gen 2 in my bedroom. The only con is when you arm and disarm your alarm the sounds it makes will not be in sync, other than that it works perfectly fine.

Answer:	I have two of these and one of the touchpad deadbolts on different doors. The two like this have been installed about 2 years and the touchpad has been installed about three. One of them (this model) is installed on a shed directly in the elements while the other two have eves above them (very small overhangs). I am currently replacing the one that is directly in the elements while the other two are still functioning perfectly. The overhangs are small but it is the difference between getting soaked EVERY single time it rains and rarely ever getting directly rained on. So I would say, no, rain doesn’t “fry” this product but, yes, DIRECT exposure to the elements will likely shorten the lifespan of the lock. On the other hand, it doesn’t take much to reduce this problem (like a 12” overhang 8-10’ above the door). Also, the “shortened” lifespan of mine was still about two years. It was better than I expected knowing it was completely unsheltered.
Question:	Is the keypad visible in the dark -- from a source other than reflected light
Answer:	No, The Keyboard is not visible in the dark. You must touch a key on the pad before the keyboard lights. We press any key an then press the enter key before we enter a code.
Question:	Do the numbers wear on the commonly used keys (for your PIN entry?) That is, after repeated use, can a person tell which keys are pressed most often
Answer:	...even if one could identify the 4 most commonly used keys, there would still be 256 potential combinations since numbers can be repeated. I have had one of these for six years, and while the numbers have not worn, the buttons which are pushed most frequently are a bit dirtier than the numbers that never get pushed. They are not dirty but there is slight discoloration. However, since my wife and family each have separate codes, 8 out of the 10 buttons get used at some point. All that said, the keys are still clean and the oft used button are only barely discolored.

Answer:	No, This Lock does not have an autolock feature. Not having the feature was one of the purchasing process parameters.

Answer:	Did you copy the 'entire' software CD to your PC? I can't recall if it was the 'same' error, but I too had some sort of error when I tried to use after copying only the "AMAG_EN" folder to my PC. You also need to copy the folder that looks like "AMAG_╚╒▒╛╒Z". Mine worked after doing this. Also, when you are using the software app to reprogram the kb, it needs to be plugged directly into the PC. It can't be plugged into a 'Hub' or some kind of splitter. After programming, then it can be used (typing) on a Hub.
