Answer:	The spikes with the rods slip into holders on fence sections with nothing other than gravity to hold them in place. So,yes, the spikes can easily be removed from the fence sections for storage.

How Does it Work?

Imagine the frequency range of the sound you hear as a highway, a very wide one with nine lanes. Each of these "lanes" represents a single octave of the sonic spectrum. The first four lanes, labeled 63 - 500 (Hz) contain the really low frequency sound content, mainly bass, bass vocals, and the kick and tom drums. The three lanes labeled 1 k, 2 k and 4 k (Hz), make up the fundamental zone of most musical instruments and the male and female vocals. 8 k and 16 k cover the frequency range of cymbals, snare drums and higher pitched percussion instruments. The FBQ800 allows you to control the flow of audio traffic in each of these nine lanes. When properly applied, EQ makes it possible to hear all of these frequency ranges equally, thus the term equalization.

Feedback Elimination

When a specific frequency, or range of frequencies, reaches too high a level, feedback occurs--that all-too-familiar squeal or howl you get when the mic is too close to the speaker. Basically, feedback happens when there is so much of a particular frequency that it is picked up by the mic and run through the system again. That's why feedback typically gets louder and louder the longer it's allowed to occur. Needless to say, this kind of feedback is very undesirable.

This is where the FBQ800's Feedback Detection System really works its magic. In this ingenious circuitry, LEDs on the individual faders light up when that frequency band is approaching the danger zone. All you need do is lower the illuminated slider until the LED blinks out--voilá, feedback problem solved! What once required a highly trained ear is now an activity that even a child can master.

Sonic Toolkit

That really is the best way to describe the FBQ800. With its nine frequency bands, you easily fine-tune your sound and instantly eliminate feedback. And each fader can be used to boost or cut the frequency range it controls by as much as 12 dB (and that's a lot!).

Special attention is paid to the low frequency zone. In addition to low frequency faders, the FBQ800 features a Low Cut filter for removing unwanted low frequencies such as fl oor rumble, room resonance, electrical hum, etc. This is especially handy if your system is being used for speech rather than music.

To Boost or to Cut, That is the Question

Raising and lowering specific frequency bands can improve the frequency response of any room's acoustics. For instance, if the room you're in is "bass-heavy," lowering the 63 and 125 Hz faders can help eliminate an overall "boomy" or "muddy" sound. Likewise, gently boosting the 8 and 16 k sliders can add sparkle to a somewhat "dark" mix. Are the vocals getting lost in the mix? Raising the level of the 1 k slider can help bring them out.

It's important to note that raising a single fader level is not always the best solution; it's often better to lower the bands surrounding the frequency you want to bring out, and then boost the overall volume level to achieve better headroom.

Answer:	No, this is a single channel equalizer, if you bought 2, one for each channel it would work. But there is a better answer, the ART 341 is dual channel for stereo systems. However it comes with 15 band per channel, 2/3s octave. Better function in my estimation. And provided you have RCA input, mini-plug or 3 prong connections on your amp, going from CD to amp to eq to speakers is easy. This eq is by far the most versatile of the ART eqs.

Question:	What type of probes are you guys using with these? Will 100mhz probes work on this 200mhz machine
Answer:	100mhz probes will physically work with this oscilloscope (I use a 100mhz differential probe with this due to cost limitations), but be well aware of the limitations of the probes, readings will be less accurate at 100mhz and nearly unusable at the 200mhz range of the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope does come with 4 ok probes that are rated at 200mhz. You are always better off using probes that are rated at least as high as the oscilloscope or higher, your results depend on it.

Answer:	I have seen 1 update to the SDS1202X-E since I have had it. The update was done by placing the update file on a USB drive, and then selecting the file. It was quick and easy.

Answer:	You realize this scope only has an input analog bandwidth of 200 Mhz. The typical low end spectrum analyzer about ($1500) has a bandwidth up to 1.5-2.0 Ghz. SA's also generally come with a tracking generator, which outputs a signal at the exact same frequency being measured at that moment, so you can pass it through a device to measure it's spectrum attenuation. For frequency's below 200 Mhz, the FFT function on this scope will give you some of the same data a SA would give under some conditions. A SA has an enormously more sensitive input. If you connect an antenna to a SA input, it gives a very good display. An antenna connected to the input of this/most oscilloscopes will not show much of anything, as there is not enough signal strength. A SA will also generally have a much higher resolution spectrum,. If you show 200 Mhz of spectrum on this scope, with a 1 million sample FFT, that gives 1/2 million FFT buckets, so each must be about 400 Hz wide. In favor of the oscilloscope, if you're only dealing with low frequencies, a typical spectrum analyzer has a lower frequency limit, like often in the 5 khz range, so is useless below that. For audio work, a scope with a good FFT is way more useful than a RF SA. The FFT function on this scope looks a lot better than on the Rigol scopes due to it's much larger sample size limit.

Answer:	I assume you are connecting this device in series with some other input device such as an external CD Player. Or in the AUX LOOP. Both being on the front end (preamp) of your Amplifier. Either way the type of I/O jacks you use (balanced/unbalanced) are only going to effect your overall S/N ratio. Which depending on just how many beers that are left in the cooler will be your Judge and Jury. Therefore, I personally would just use 1 (L) and 1 (R) Tip-Ring (unbalanced) 1/4 inch to RCA cables for input and the same for output. I would not use any adapters as that would only worsen your already weak S/N ratio because the system is truly UNBALANCED. That's the draw back of regular consumer devices which provide only RCA I/O 's in the first place. FYI. The 1215 along with it's big brother the 1231, Which is what I use. Are both really designed to be used in a TOTALLY BALANCED Analog/Digital Professional Sound Reinforcement System from source to transducers environment. Answer:	It's not an amp. It's a equalizer unit to fine tune music. This unit goes between the head unit and amplifier. Most head units provide 2 volt signal to the amp, this eq will provide 7 volt signal to the amp.
