Answer:	Theoretically you could, but you would probably need cut out the entire page, to make sure the door pattern is complete. I would recommend looking at the other available notebooks, or printing out a page from the PDFs they provide.

Answer:	The Livescribe Aegir smartpen uses a standard D1 style ink cartridge from Zebra. Ink cartridges that meet the same size specifications (67 mm x 2.35 mm diameter) and contain carbon-free ink may also be used, though Livescribe does not guarantee the performance of other brand replacement ink cartridges.
Question:	Is this compatible with the Amazon Fire
Answer:	The pen needs the Livescribe app. There is an Android version of the app available on the Google Play Store. If it isn't in the Amazon app store, then you will have to "sideload" it on your device, which is a little more difficult. The pen will not provide all the features without the app, so this is important.

The Standard edition has been discontinued (and we are, ourselves, out of stock with no intentions to acquire more... and Livescribe themselves no longer make them). The interaction of the Black with the mobile Livescribe+ app is identical, no change there. Answer:	We just bought this item (twice) in 2013 and the zipper works smoothly (so far, in about a month of use). The zipper and pulls are deep in the groove. It's not a real issue/flaw, just a peculiarity of the design. I guess it keeps the zipper from catching on things in a bag. It's a tiny annoyance, for people who have big fingers or little patience--or both! We'll see how it holds up in longer use.

Answer:	So far, Livescribe 3 smartpen only works with iOS 7 devices. The Livescribe+ app is for iOS only. LS3 uses a newer low power Bluetooth technology called Smart Bluetooth. Question:	As you take notes with the Livescribe pen, does it automatically appear as text (i.e. not in handwriting form) on an appropriate device
Answer:	This pen is mainly about recording handwriting/drawing, i.e., digital ink. The iOS app that works with it does have a feature for translating into text in modest chunks (they call them snippets). Like voice recognition on smartphones, the handwriting recognition is at first kind of amazing -- just the fact that it works at all -- but if you try to translate large amounts of text, most people find that the amount of correction required because of mistranslation makes it easier to just type the notes yourself. (It basically depends on how neat and consistent your handwriting is.) You can set it up so you can watch it translate on your iPad as you write, but I don't find it particularly useful to do it that way. So yeah, it can translate handwriting into text, and it is about as good as it gets for that technology, but it's less useful than you might hope.
Question:	Do you have to use their notebooks or does any paper type work
Answer:	You must use their notebooks. They have a special paper print that the pen recognizes to know which notebook and which page you are on. Otherwise it's still a pen but won't record on anything but Livescribe notebooks.
Question:	Is the quality of the pen any better? I've been frustrated with the poor quality of the ink...wish they could make a "bolder" pen that had darker ink
Answer:	Larry, this is my first Livescribe product, but from what I have read many people seem to feel that the standard Livescribe ink for the LS3 is better than ink of the past. But I have good news, you don't need to use Livescribe ink refills. The LS3 is compatible with and D1 size ink refill. This means you can use ball point or gel ink in many different point sizes. Just search for "D1 ink refill"I have ordered several different brands of ink from JetPens.com.
