Attention:

1. It requires 2 screws and 1 washer to assemble the enclosure. When install the round washer to assemble SSD and PCB, please pay attention to the thickness of the washer, it has two directions, please keep upper thin and bottom thick. When insert the pcb to house casing, as it is shrapnel design, pls press down the PCB slightly to ensure the proper insertion.

2.After installed, when the first time to use the new SSD, it may not be found, please partition and format it first under disk management, then it can be used normally. If want to work on both Mac and Windows OS, please format it to EXFAT.

3. Pls kindly noted our enclosure work well on all brands NVME M.2 2242, 2260, 2280mm SSD including Intel 600p, 660p, Sumsung, WD, Crucial etc. full range up to 4TB. If any question you have, please free to mail us, we promise that we will reply within 8 hours and give you a happy solution.

Answer:	Yes, I had a small SSD (256GB)which I replaced with a 1 TB SSD. You place the new SSD in the adaptor and connect it via the included USB 3.1 (or C) cable to your PC, laptop, etc, then format the new SSD. I then ran a program called Paragon Hard Disk Manager which clones your old SSD. Once finished, I replaced the old SSD with the new SSD and booted up the system. It ran beautifully and looked just like my old SSD; just with more space on the SSD. All the old programs and bootups were exactly as they were before; I've had mine new SSD for a couple weeks now and have yet to notice anything different from my old SSD. I couldn't be more pleased.
Question:	What chipset/bridge controller does "enclosure usb 3.1 gen 2" use
Answer:	I am on a ThinkPad T480s and just bought a Samsung EVO 970 Plus 1 TB NVMe m.2 SSD and put it into this enclosure. My goal is to use the Samsung Data Migration software to clone my current SSD (also Samsung, 512 GB) to this new SSD so it will be running faster and have more storage space. The new SSD in this enclosure has been recognized by my Windows 10 system (after setting it up in the Disk Manager) as a normal external drive. Unfortunately, as mentioned by other users, it will not be recognized as a Samsung drive by the Samsung Data Migration software, no matter using the USB-C to C cable or USB-C to A cable. After doing some research, I think the only way out is to use some other cloning software. Hopefully, this is helpful.

Answer:	The previous six I bought didn't have a power port. The last two I bought late in 12/2020 (delivered 1/2/2021) does have the power port and is a darker gray. These are either an earlier model that were dredged up from somewhere or Cable Matters has returned to including the power port (although no power cable was included). Whatever the reason for the power port being on the last two I bought, they still work fine and support TRIM.

It will only come up as an external disk and you will not be able to update the firmware or run any benchmarks using Samsung's Software. I would recommend using MiniTool ShadowMaker Free if you are looking at cloning/migrating your data.
Question:	Does case include thermal pad for SSD
Answer:	No, M.2 is only a form factor. Just like a 2.5' drive vs a 3.5" drive. The *INTERFACE* is what matters, there are m.2 drives that come with SATA Interfaces and m.2 drives that use the NVMe interface (technically PCIe, NVMe is a standard/protocol) but it must be an NVMe drive.

Answer:	I have used one 2TB drive in mine and it worked fine. I can't imagine why four would not work. As long as they fit it should be fine. Note that this enclosure will not fit 15mm thick drives, but most are thinner than that nowadays (my 2TB is 9.5mm).

Answer:	Measuring the slots on mine indicates it should fit up to a 12.5mm drive. It will not fit 15mm thick drives.

Answer:	The slots on mine measure 13mm wide, so it should take up to 12.5mm height drives. 15mm will definitely not fit.

Answer:	Put your 4 drives in unformatted, then use storage spaces (in Windows 10) to build the array, works like a charm. I have one w/ 4 500GB drives and I get about 1.2TB storage. Good use for unused laptop drives!

Question:	current laptop does not have a port for the cable the case came with. can you advise a cable that used a larger usb connector on one end
Answer:	While it is true that USB 2.0 and 3.0 are compatible, older hardware might not provide enough power to the USB ports, preventing the drive from working. Some USB 2.0 enclosures have two heads on the computer end for this reason.
Question:	Uasp compatible like previous model
Answer:	There are several things you can check out; some you probably already tried but I will mention several. Reset the drive again into the cradle and press firmly side to side and replace the cover. Make sure the cable is good, use another one that you know is good. If you have another spare drive that you know is good swap and try that drive on the laptop. Try your drive on a different laptop or PC. The drive is a low end HDD that you pulled from an old laptop then it could be the hard drive itself or the drive is a total mismatch for this enclosure and some of the older HDD's will not work in this enclosure although I haven't had this problem as yet. Good luck with your troubleshooting.
