Question:	is this really thunderbolt 3 interface or just USB-C
Answer:	If you are planning on using this case with an older Thunderbolt 1/2 port on an iMac (or other Apple computer), please read my comments below. I purchased this MOKiN case with the intention of connecting it to a Late-2015 iMac 27" 5K Retina computer. This computer has Thunderbolt 2 ports (max speed 20Gbps) as well as USB 3.0 ports (now called USB-3.2 Gen 1 - max speeds up to 5Gbps). Since this case supports Thunderbolt 3 (not Thunderbolt 2), I also purchased (from a different seller) an official Apple Certified 'Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter' as well as an Apple Certified 'Thunderbolt 2-to-Thunderbolt 2 cable'. This cable and adapter would allow me to connect the MOKiN case to my iMac as follows (where 'TB' = Thunderbolt): iMac TB2 Port (female) --> Apple TB2 Cable (male-male) --> Apple TB3-to-TB2 Adapter (female-male) --> MOKiN TB3 (female USB-C port). This connection does NOT work. The iMac states that there is nothing connected to the Thunderbolt 2 port. Nor does the blue LED on the MOKiN case light up. I reported this issue to seller Sokiwi and they have been extremely responsive. They referred the issue to their tech support who confirmed that the chipset used by this particular MOKiN case is an earlier generation to one used by Apple, and so is not compatible. This MOKiN case uses the JMS583 chipset and I have confirmed that it is not compatible with the chipset used in the Apple Thunderbolt 3-to-Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. Sokiwi been an EXCELLENT seller and very responsive. They have offered to send another case that they offer (the "M.2 NVME NGFF SSD Enclosure Adapter Tool-Free, RTL9210B Chips, USB C 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps NVME, 6Gbps SATA PCIe M-Key(B+M Key), External Solid State Drive Support UASP Trim for SSD Size 2242/2260/2280" - available here on Amazon) so that I can try it out and help them verify if this is compatible with the Apple TB3-TB2 Adapter. It uses a more modern version of the Thunderbolt 3 chipset (RTL9210B) and hopefully that will work. Sokiwi expects that if there it is compatible with the Apple chipset, then it should deliver up to 10 Gbps (i.e. twice the speed of the USB 3.0 ports). Once I receive the new case I will test it and report back on my findings. I should point out that the USB3.0 port to my iMac works flawlessly and I was able to achieve 420MB/s Read and Write speeds, which is to be expected considering that the USB 3.0 port has a maximum speed of 5Gbps. The case is also well constructed and it was easy to install the Inland Platinum NMVe Gen 3x4 2TB 3D QLC NAND SSD card (M.2 2280) that I bought (different seller).

Answer:	if I remember correctly it doesn't provide 12V and 5V power at all without molex adapter (since M.2 connector doesn't have 12v and 5v pins iirc). Only 3v. So most of pci-e hardware won't work without 4 pin adapter. 3v power will be limited to what motherboard can provide.

Answer:	It should but remember that the board is NOT sata, it is U.2

Answer:	No, this is designed to connect an M.2 drive to the USB reader on a different computer. Note, this is NOT A SATA connector. If you do not have a method of connecting USB to U.2 it is useless. Like the one I purchased sitting on my desk as a warning to future purchase research at Amazon.

Answer:	If you are talking about the USB it should slide into the port like any other USB device. If you are talking about the NVME card into the adapter you should insert it at a slight angle then use the screw mount to secure it to the adapter.
