Then logically that means there are several variations of the Panasonic DVD Player DVD-S700 where this function does not work on one variation (let's say maybe the black version) and it does on the white version. How else can you explain that I just received the black version and there's no way this resume function works using any of the straightforward or convoluted instruction provided in the manual, in the answers below, or instructions found by googling. Sorry folks, if you want the safe answer, it is no this does not resume where you left off after stopping (not pausing since that would be a "dah") the episode. Just as an aside, I've owned many dvd players over the years, and this is the first one I've encountered where this function doesn't work.

Answer:	I'm getting this over a modern Blu-ray player for a number of reasons. A. This device can be easily unlocked to play any region DVD's, a region free Blu-ray player costs around $200. B. I want a dedicated DVD player that is made strictly for that purpose as I have a huge DVD collection and not many Blu-ray's, for many Blu-ray players, the DVD aspect is somewhat of an afterthought and not the purpose of the machine, you will notice in reading Blu-ray player reviews, people often complain about their players not playing older dvd's getting error messages with DVD's ect., it is a different technology and an "add on " for a Blu-ray player. C. Modern Blu-ray players try to do too much, they have all this technology and bells and whistles, there are a lot more things to go wrong in them, freeze up and fry the machines, ect., they also are constantly getting on the internet and updating software and that can make the machine more prone to go bad too with one bad line of code or a virus. My Sony Blu-ray player jumped on the internet and reported me to Sony because it thought the disk I was watching was a bootleg, my player actually tattled on me while whatching a movie and the machine froze and I got a notice in my email from Sony accusing me of pirating. In any event for me anyway, there are a number of reasons I would choose a good basic player for $50 and not have all the bells, whistles and headaches. My Samsung occasionally can't stream an original Prime Video in 4K, producing a blank screen with a message about the HDCP 2.2 codec. There's also the problem of downloading speed. Even the fastest speed available from Time-Warner / Spectrum is way short of the minimum requirement. The service clearly states it does NOT support 4K streaming. (Most people would never know the difference, since 1080P looks as good to the average viewer, which why I watch my Sony and leave the Samsung in the guest room. If you want to see a difference, invest in an OLED screen..

Answer:	Is your DVD player very old? That could be the problem with the video conversion since your projector obviously is newer with a HDMI input jack. I know for instance that I could plug my VHS machine into the rear of an older receiver and feed the HDMI out to an older HDTV. However I can't do that with the new 4K HDTV sets, giving me a black picture, my having to by-pass the video-in on the receiver and use the converter's HDMI input jack instead with a receiver that uses HDMI jacks that carry audio and video. For instance, much older Onkyo receivers had HDMI inputs but for audio only, no pass through for the video switching.

Answer:	This adapts from RCA connectors to HDMI. If your VHS player has RCA connectors on it it should work. It does require AC power though.
Question:	Can you switch between 4:3 and 16:9 aspec ratio
Answer:	No. It will stretch the 4:3 image to 16:9.
Question:	Can this be used to record on old dvd recorder
Answer:	This converter cannot be used to convert HDMI to RCA. It can only be used to convert RCA outputs to HDMI outputs. So if your old DVD recorder has RCA outputs and you just want to be able to see its output, then this should work like it works on my VHS/DVD combo recorder.
Question:	How long are the usb and rca to hdmi cables
Answer:	Hello, hope this helps. There are no RCA to HDMI and no HDMI to HDMI cables. The only cable supplied was the unit to USB port cable, which was about 3 ft long. You will need the RCA connector cables, the HDMI cable, and a power brick or electric plug for the USB, to make this work.

Answer:	Couldn’t you just mute or turn the volume to zero on the TV? That’s what I end up doing with our home theater setup.

Answer:	No, this device cannot convert a 2D signal to a 3D signal. It is merely stating that you can run a 3D signal through the box without issues. The Tv, Cable, this box, whatever is driving the display (eg, a disk player.console, or pc), and the content you're trying to stream all have to all support a 3D signal. Movies especially, are hard to find in 3D. The film needs to be recorded with two cameras working simultaneously, like how people use two eyes to make a 3d image of their surroundings. Doing this without two cameras requires someone to guess how close the object should be, a very imperfect science. --Basic rundown on how 3D works The marketing is referring to HDMI's ability to carry a stereo-graphic 3D signal. This is used by special tvs to make a 3 dimensional image. It is basically two simultaneous video streams. One goes into the left eye and the other goes into the right (the exact technology that achieves this varies, but it requires special hardware, like special glasses that only allow a frame of video to go through one eye at a time, and alternates at a rate too fast to notice). The two streams would have slight differences in the image that give the illusion of 3D. The same way that your left eye sees slightly different from you right eye. But this requires every chain in the link to support the feature.
