Answer:	I don't think this will work with a Fire HD 6. I say that because, based on the description of the HD 6, it only has one port. I purchased this cable for my Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation) which has two ports. The first port is the same one that your Kindle HD 6 has, which is for charging it or connecting it to a computer. The HD 7" has a second, smaller port that can be used (with this cable) to connect the Kindle to an HD television. This allows me to connect the Kindle to the television in my bedroom or living room and watch shows from the Kindle on the TV screen. The HD 6 doesn't have that second port so this cable would be useless to you. I hope my explanation makes sense.

Answer:	I think so. I specifically purchased the older version Kindle Fire HD 7" (Previous Generation-2nd) because I wanted two ports. The first port is the one all Kindles have which is the port used for connecting to a PC or charging the device. The second port (the reason for purchasing this cable) is the Micro-HDMI (micro-D connector) port for high definition video output to televisions or A/V receivers. I wanted this second portbecause I wanted to be able to lie in bed (or on the couch) and have a cable that's long enough to connect my Kindle to the T.V. and watch whatever. (At the time, I don't think the HDX 8.9 was out yet) From what I saw on Amazon, I didn't see a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 but I did see a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and its description of the ports says: SlimPort enabled USB 2.0 (micro-B connector) port to connect to an HDTV or VGA monitor with an adapter or to a PC/Macintosh computer, or to charge your device with the included PowerFast charger. Since it says there is a micro connector like on mine, I'm guessing that you'll be able to use this. I know this is a long and involved response but I did the same thing when I purchased this cable because I didn't want to get the wrong thing and have to go through the hassle of returning it and trying to find the right thing. This cable is 15 feet long and perfect for being lazy.

Question:	Cannot get the 50' cord to work. Do I need an amplifier
Answer:	I didn't need an amplifier for mine, it works as well as a any other-length HDMI. If you are using it on a laptop to a TV or projector, you may need to push the F8 button on the top row to activate the HDMI port. Some laptops will automatically turn it on if the HDMI is inserted while the laptop is powered up and running. If it is for a game console, you may have to go into settings and enable the port as well. Of course, the possibility exists that you got a bad HDMI cable. If you can use a different cable and there are no problems, then you likely received a bad HDMI cable. HDMI length has not made a difference in my application (laptop to garage TV). Good luck!

Answer:	It worked for me, that is exactly why i bought this cable. I am assuming you have a video card or motherboard with two video output. In my case i have two dvi outputs on the computer and the second monitor i acquired only had hdmi input.

Answer:	Hey Lou, You actually need a "dual link" DVI to get a resolution higher than 1920 x 1200. Don't confuse that statement with two DVI connectors. A "dual link" DVI has SIX extra pins in the middle of the connector interface. If you have a dual link, it will support 2560 x 1600 body. The other issue is whether your HDMI is 1.4 that supports what is called "Deep Color," or 36-bit/px. Then you have to ensure your output hardware can support that resolution.Also keep on the lookout for an "active" cable, they cost about $120 that will get you to a higher resolution. Provided that the hardware you're using for your output is fairly recently made, like within a couple of years or so, there shouldn't be an issue with the conversion.
