*For Removing it:

Answer:	Mostly, James Bloch is wrong. This can work AM or FM. However, no one uses FM in the U.S. Europe has FM channels. So this isn't really the right radio for the U.S. And an argument can be made that the vendor is trying to make a quick buck off of people that don't know about radio stuff. I've been a Ham for 45 years. The 10 Meter Ham-band is 28.0000 to 29.7000 MHz. Ham radio equipment reads out the frequency to 6 decimal places. Damned if I can figure out how a 40 channel readout can tell you what frequency you're on. Also, the manual keeps repeating: "Note: This Function is valid only when the radio work in HF model or HAM model." In no case can I figure out what criteria they're trying to describe. Normal CB put out 12 watts. This one puts out 20 watts. That's less than 1/2 S-unit increase. Is this radio worth the trouble, just to get 1/2 S-unit over a legal CB set? Between that and the shady marketing practices, I would boycott Stryker for putting their name on this. I still say for 140 dollars, you can get a Uniden 980 that includes SSB single side band -- and Weather receiver to boot. 12 watts of SSB (such as from a legal CB) will give superior performance to 20 watts of AM, the FM capabilities on this are a waste in the U.S. And the manual which I found on the internet doesn't even describe how a 40 channel readout works for 28.0000 to 29.7000 MHz. In summary, it's a lie that this radio was ever intended to be used as a Ham radio (synonymous with Amateur Radio). They market it as such because they're embarrassed to admit the radio was produced for use on the CB band. It's just a bad choice for CB, and if you want to go Freeband off the CB channels, you'll still want SSB for maximum performance (distance). On that note, FM is good for local communications -- it is a poor choice if you're looking to make distance contacts.

Answer:	It's a 10 meter radio, so it requires an antenna trimmed for 10 meters. Stryker sells the A-10, which is great for trucks. If you are planning to convert this to 11 meters so you can communicate with it on the Citizens Band, then you will need an antenna trimmed for 11 meters. Please note, this (like any other 10 meter radio) is not a CB.
