Answer:	Yes. I have had a variety of Anker Powerline Cables and almost all of them have failed like you describe. Sometimes the cable totally fails (won't change on either side) and sometimes it will only change on one side. I would say over the past 4 or 5 years, I have returned at least 10 cables to them (family of 4 all with iPhones and iPads). This doesn't include some of the original cables I purchased from them that had an 18 month warranty. Some of those became defective after the warranty expired. I now only purchase their cables that have the lifetime warranty. I just sent one cable back to them that was only 1 month old. The only reason I continue to buy cables from them is their customer service. I have never had an issue getting replacements from them.....I've even received replacements of replacements of replacements. I have do have a concern with their newest Powerline+ II cables. The Serial Number (which you apparently must supply to them in order to return it) is not etched into the connector of the cable. It's on a piece of sticky label wrapped around the the cable. I'm sure this will eventually fall off, so I took a picture of it if I ever need to return the cable.

Answer:	This cable frayed on me and split near the plug. I purchased in March 2018 and despite their allegations of it being "durable," since I only used it around my home with a iPhone and an iPad, and it lasted 8 months, I would not purchase again. I have not yet tried the PowerLine+ but intend to. While I could not directly answer your question about whether it is "better than" the PowerLine+, I did want to let you know that the Powerline II is not as durable as they claim.

Answer:	Just an FYI, the actual charge controller that regulates charge to your battery is in the phone. If all components in the phone are working correctly, it should be literally impossible to overcharge it. Like when to charge via a computer USB port, it always puts out 5V, all the time, and when the phone is charged it stopped pulling power. And as a last resort, the phone battery itself should also have a protection circuit in addition to the phone’s charge controller to ensure voltage doesn’t rise above 4.25 to prevent damage or fire.

The only one I could find for around $11 at the same length is the micro USB which is the standard connection for android, and well basically anything that isn't an Apple device. So if youth have an iPhone, this is the 10 ft cable for you. It works great and is compatible. I bought one for my boyfriend and he uses it all the time.
