| Answer: | Though the coil may be water proof, if used at the shore, the slightest wave will splash the coil connection to the housing, which is NOT waterproof and it may short out the unit causing it to constantly whine. Not for use at water line in my opinion only use on dry land or away from waves. |

| Answer: | That is a loaded question. It would depend on many factors. First how big the buried object is. For example a coin sized object ( Say a quarter ) may get 5" where as a garbage can lid might come in at 22". The next factor is how much discrimination you use. On all metal you will get more depth but pick up more trash items. Under ideal circumstances you would never even pick up that trash can lid if you had iron nulled out. Other factors are too many to name but soil condition, moisture of grass and sensitivity settings are all going to count towards depth. If you are looking to find old deep buried coins then this is not the right unit for you. I have two detectors. I use this Bounty hunter for the beach and play grounds where is handles great. For parks and old sites I have a more expensive detector that no Bounty hunter made could match the depth on. With my good detector I have found old dimes at 13". I love the bounty hunter and it paid for itself in a few weeks with a gold ring it found but it has its limitations. The old saying "You get what you pay for". You cannot expect a $100 detector to do what a $2000 detector can do. Lastly, experience and time in the field ( knowing what the heck you are doing ) is key.Hope this helped |

The digital readout continuously displays carbon monoxide levels from 30-999 parts per million. This unit has a loud, 85-decibel alarm that sounds when CO reaches dangerous levels. One of the features of this product is peak level memory, which means this unit will recall highest level of CO present since previous reset. Install at least one CO alarm on every floor and in sleeping areas. Make sure CO alarms are at least 15 feet away from cooking or heating appliances to prevent false alarms. Replace CO alarms every 5 to 7 years to benefit from the latest technology upgrades.

| Answer: | The manual for the CO605 plug-in with battery backup says that if the battery is low or missing, it chirps once a minute. I don't have the item myself, so if somebody can confirm that it does chirp if it is plugged in without a battery, I would appreciate it. As to another answer here, if you are hearing 3 chirps per minute, it means the alarm is not functioning properly; it is not because of a low or missing battery, which is supposed to give off only one chirp per minute. |

I had 3 9V units, and 2 of the 3 seemingly required excessive pressure to get the batteries to engage. When I first thought I had the batteries installed by just closing the door, the unit chirped until I got the batteries shoved on hard. |

| Answer: | If you're asking specifically about whether or not a radar detector detector (RDD) can find the Escort IX, I believe the answer is that A) it is invisible to police using VG-2, but B) CAN be detected if they're using Spectre.Per a tutorial on the Escort web site (date unknown): "please note that while all of our current detectors are immune to the VG-2 radar detector-detector (RDD), there is a newer RDD named Spectre that can detect most radar detectors currently on the market. Our RedLine and Passport 9500ci models are also undetectable by the Spectre radar detector detector." |

| Answer: | I went to the dot com site of escortradar and then entered /ix/ after the URL. This brought up the highly detailed page on this device. There are links to the spec sheet, quick reference guide, and user manual. Nowhere in this did I see an explicit statement that it scans to the rear, but I am 99.999999% sure that it does. One reason is any decent radar detector does, and this is well beyond merely decent. Another is Escort's "we'll pay your ticket policy" (conditions apply). |
