Answer:	Good Compass but not great Hold down on one of the buttons and the watch face becomes a compass. It shows the degrees (0-360) and the general direction (SE for example). You would not use this watch to plot a course on a map. For that, you can buy a compass for less than $20 that lie flat on a map, can be adjusted for a magnetic correction, they have lines, etc.

Answer:	My new phone 51 has a battery life of about 5 minutes! No longer even if plugged in overnight. It sucks for anything other than using it in the car. I do have a large auxiliary battery I use with my cell, and I can plug the 51 into that for a longer live. They sell another unit with a 2 hour life but I would not trust the data they at GARMIN have. I was very disappointed at the short battery life. I intended to use it in the city when I had to walk and not burn up cell minutes.

Answer:	I have the Garmin Nuvi 50, and the cable that comes with it - and this one - is absurdly short. It doesn't reach from the cigarette lighter/12 volt plug and the windshield. My brother-in-law had a generic usb-to-usb mini, and it worked just fine. I have also used the cable from my old BlackBerry phone (which is also USB mini), and it worked fine too. It is NOT unique, and you should not have to rig anything up. A nice length USB to USB mini should work just fine. You can also connect/charge this at home, with any plug that has a USB mini end.

Answer:	I can't answer this for sure. I would assume that all garmin power cords are universal but do some more research.

Answer:	I moved up from a vivofit 2 to the 4. The display is much smaller than I am used to, but it does show more information with the different screens. I was disappointed that you can no longer sync directly with the computer, only with the phone. I do like that it still has the one year battery.

Question:	What happens when the battery finally dies? Recharge, replace or the device is done? Thx
Answer:	My first one was an earlier model and each battery lasts about 14 months. Take it to a watch shop to ensure the battery is replaced and it is still water resistant. After almost 2-3/4 years the display finally died. I kept wearing it with no display (it still syncs data to the app). Now that it is time for a new battery I am getting the newer model.

Question:	Will this work with my waterrower which is ant+ and all gym equipment which is polar compatible
Answer:	Yes and no. It will work with any Ant+ or Bluetooth equipment. However, a lot or older gym equipment only supports an obsolete non-coded Polar interface.
Question:	Does this strap transmit running metrics also such as cadence,vertical oscillation and stride length
Answer:	I have a forerunner 620 and using the HRM-Dual with that I get metrics including cadence, vertical oscillation, and ground contact time. I don't get those metrics if I'm not wearing the HRM-Dual when I run.
Question:	I cant get this to connect to my android phone using strava or garmin connect i dont know why
Answer:	The heart rate strap won't connect to a phone. It will only connect to a Garmin device, such as an Edge or a Forerunner.
Question:	How is this different from the garmin premium heart rate monitor? or, what does the "dual" in the name indicate? thanks
Answer:	Dual means that it supports both Ant+ and Bluetooth concurrently and also can support two Bluetooth devices concurrently. Many bicyclists have lots of devices they want their chest straps to communicate with and this can talk to both kinds/protocols.

Answer:	Yes mine came with a transducer. It came with everything needed to set up and be ready to go as if you never had a fish finder before. Although the two wire clamps to hold your cable for the transducer are fragile, I recommend getting new ones

Answer:	Yes! Depth, temperature, speed you're moving, time of day etc. this is an awesome unit for the price
