User questions & answers
Question: | will this fit on shimano xt m |
Answer: | They fit on Shimano XT FC-M780 (3x); not sure about M8000. |
Question: | I have a sram red crank and a 38t ring. will this work |
Answer: | It probably would work. like on mine it's not an exact fit but it works fine. |
Question: | Are these spacers necessary for proper installation of the Race Face Narrow/Wide Chainring |
Answer: | You need these spacers to install the Race Face Narrow/Wide Chainring if you are currently running a double or triple chainring set up because the chainring bolts will be too long to install the narrow/wide on your crank. You can choose to get shorter chainring bolts instead. It's one or the other. |
Question: | so you need these when you do a 1x10 setup |
Answer: | If you're using your old 3x crankset, you either need to use these or you can buy shorter (1x) chainring bolts. The tabs can give it a cleaner look over the shorter bolts. |

Transporting your bicycle in an airline case or in a vehicle without a dedicated roof or hitch rack can often be a messy, if not worrisome experience. The White Lighting Chain Johnny is a simple solution to preventing drivetrain grease marks or chainrings gouging the leather backseat of your sedan. The Chain Johnny's bomber construction also protects your drivetrain from any exposure to the elements or damage from other storage hazards as you transport it to your race or group ride. The Chain Johnny is constructed from a durable, 2-ply rubber and nylon fabric, and secured by Velcro closures. Simply shift to your largest chainring (or smallest, if you're wrapping a mountain bike drivetrain) and smallest cog, before wrapping it around the drivetrain from front to back and sealing the Velcro. In addition to providing exponentially better protection than your old faithful towels or rugs, the Johnny is also highly water-resistant, making it essential if you plan on hauling your bike outside your vehicle as well. The White Lightning Chain Johnny is universally sized, and is designed to fit all road and mountain bikes.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work for a XX |
Answer: | It should work fine. It's cut for a full size chainring but the closure is velcro. It's not really tight fitting anyway. |
Question: | Just bought & returned a similar product that only covered 1 side of the drivetrain. Does this cover both sides |
Answer: | There is a big hole near the front derailer and a small hole near the cassette. but with the use of a rag or two you can get this product to cover the chain fully. Not the best design, but one of the best designs out there. still looking for a better product. |
Question: | My wife has toe clips on her bike which make the pedals bulky compared to clipless pedals. Will this work on a road bike with clips on pedals |
Answer: | It does not cover the pedals, so pedal type is irrelevant. It slips over the crank arms and covers the chain, chainrings, rear cogs & rear derailleur. So tge short answer is YES, it will work on your wife's bike. |
Question: | Do you need to remove pedals to use the Johnny? Just looking for short-distance protection from my 1/2 mile of gravel driveway |
Answer: | No need to remove the pedals, but the cranks have to stay more or less in the same position. You can' put this thing on your bike and ride with it. It's more designed for protecting the inside of your car/trunk from dirty chain marks. You could also use it when your bike is on a roof rack I suppose if you wanted protect the chain from the elements. |
Question: | What gates carbon belt drive front sprockets will work with this adapter |
Answer: | Any Gates Belt Drive 130 bcd sprocket should fit as long as it doesn’t interfere with the Bafang motor hub. The bolt pattern is a standard symmetrical 130 BCD. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how many bolts on this sprocket |
Answer: | 5 bolt spider with 110mm size bolts. |
Question: | Does this come with the attachment bolts or do I need to purchase them separately |
Answer: | You just reuse the bolts that are on the old chain ring. |
Question: | If I order the 52t 100mm, how many teeth is the smaller chainring |
Answer: | It depends on the make/model of bicycle. My Cannondale Synapse runs a 5 bolt pattern, 130mm 53t & 39t. You can use different numbers of teeth, but you may have to adjust your derailleur to accommodate. Check online or at the bike shop for the specific sizes for your bike. |
Question: | Can the 39 be used on FSA triple crank |
Answer: | Yes indeed. I have an FSA Vero triple set up as 30x39x48. Works excellent. :) |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this spider fit any generic non-bafang chainring |
Answer: | It’s supposed to but if it’s a 32T ring or smaller, you will have to grind the edges off so it doesn’t interfere with the teeth and chain. I don’t have the tools to do that so I just wound up using the stock bafang chain ring |
