Answer:	It can play any kind of DVD and Blu-ray video disc. The instructions and controls will take time getting used to but once you understand how everything works it’s a fun device to take on vacations.

Answer:	This is the exact reason why I will never buy another Vizio bluray player. This happened to me as well. When I called in customer service told me to go to the website and download the update. I looked for a couple of hours. I called back two times the next day and was told that they no longer offer a download for that particular model. So they sent me a new bluray player. About 6 months in it needed to be updated. There was no update available for that model either. Stay away from Vizio bluray players. They play DVDs but they remove the downloads so the bluray player becomes obsolete.

The RIAA and The Powers That Be are selfish beyond belief. It is the simplest thing in the world to make a good quality DVD/BLU-RAY that plays EVERTHING yet their greed says "NO ! ! !"

Answer:	It works just fine through the HDMI connection on both smart and standard TVs. The only difference I can tell from upgrading to a smart TV and using this model Blu-ray is that the smart tv will change input when a disc is played or you turn it on. Overall, the interface isn't all that great but the player works well and with GREAT clarity on 720i and 1080p.

Answer:	Not sure we can get Instant streaming due to the Samsung disc player but we do stream from Netflix with our samsung smart tv. I'm not real technical, so I don't think it has anything to do with the blue ray player, just the TV and internet connection.

Answer:	I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to that question. I have not seen it's app, so I assume that I can't. I can tell you that the 6500 has problems losing internet connections permanently. Answer:	It is probably in your connections. Is it HDMI, is it RCA, or optical? Are you using the TV's speakers or auxiliary connection? It will be hard for anyone in this post to determine what your problem is. I suggest you call where you bought the Blu-Ray from and ask them how to hook it up with the configuration that you want to use, or have at hand. If that doesn't work, you may have a defective unit. If the TV has sound, and if your external speakers work, then it is more likely your unit. Have you looked at your unit's manual to see how it has the hook up configured? Am so sorry that I can't help you. Hopefully the place you bought it from can help. Good luck.

Answer:	i have gone through 2 Vizio Blu ray players. The first one stopped playing blu rays although, it still played DVDs. I looked it up online and it said that it needed an update. I went to the website, and looked it up and no update. I contacted Vizio directly by emailing them. I was unsatisfied as I had only had their product not even a year. The guy told me that I was basically out of luck. He said that they no longer offer updates on this model and that I would have to purchase a new blu ray player. I was not satisfied with that answer as it should have been still under warranty. I called Vizio. I talked to a Supervisor. This guy immediately apologized and sent out another blu ray player. Haven't had this a year and the SAME issue. Only I am getting an error when I try to update it, that says it cannot update it. : / I will NEVER buy a VIZIO blu ray player again. I have an LG blu ray player that has been wonderful!!! Haven't had an issue yet. If you haven't had this player for a year then I would call them and tell them your issue, especially if it isn't updating.
