  4. Power Output: Kenwood Class D amplifiers come in various power ratings (measured in watts RMS). The power output determines the amplifier's ability to drive subwoofers effectively. Amplifiers with higher RMS wattage can deliver more powerful bass.

  5. Bass Boost and Filters: Many Kenwood Class D amplifiers feature adjustable bass boost and filters, including low-pass filters and subsonic filters. These controls allow users to fine-tune the bass response to their preferences and the characteristics of their subwoofer.

  6. Bridgeable: Some models may be bridgeable, which means they can be configured to combine the power output of two channels into a single channel for even more power. This can be useful for driving extremely large or multiple subwoofers.

  7. Compact Size: Class D amplifiers are known for their compact and space-saving design, making them easier to install in the limited space available in most vehicles.

  8. Protection Features: Kenwood amplifiers often include protection features such as thermal protection, short-circuit protection, and over-current protection to safeguard the amplifier and connected equipment.

  9. Input Options: These amplifiers typically offer a range of input options, including RCA inputs and speaker-level inputs, allowing flexibility in connecting to different types of car audio systems.

  10. Remote Control: Some models may include a remote control for adjusting bass levels and other settings from the driver's seat.

  11. Brand Reputation: Kenwood is a reputable brand with a long history in the car audio industry. They are known for producing quality audio equipment.

When selecting a Kenwood Class D amplifier, it's essential to consider your specific audio system needs, including the size and type of subwoofer you plan to use. Additionally, matching the amplifier's power output to the subwoofer's specifications is crucial for optimal performance and avoiding damage to the equipment. Proper installation and tuning are also important to get the best sound quality and bass response from your car audio system.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I connect this to a 5 prong toggle switch? I want it to turn on even when the vehicle is off
Answer: I don't know about a 5 prong toggle switch but you definitely could with a 5-pin Bosche Relay (one with an 87a terminal). You can easily find wiring diagrams for them online, but essentially, pin-30 to the positive input to the amp, pin 87a to your accessory positive from the vehicle, pin 85 and 87 to your constant positive from the vehicle and then pin 86 to the vehicle ground with a normal toggle switch inline ... with the switch turned off, the circuit runs to pin 30 through pin 87a ... with the switch turned on, the circuit runs to pin 30 through pin 87
Question: How (where) do I connect the blue wire since I am using this amp without a head unit
Answer: Connect the blue wire to a power source. Ideally, the power source should be controlled by the ignition switch. This will prevent the battery from getting drained if the amp is left on. You can also connect the blue wire to the same power source as the main power lead. In this instance a on/off switch (on the blue wire) should be inserted so the unit can be turned off.
Question: If i use bluetooth, do the line out jacks work? i want to use bt with this as the main amp but run a bazooka amplified tube via the line out jacks
Answer: Yes because im doing the same thing on my system im using this amp for. Its a Great amp. I have it on my jet ski and can hear my speakers even at 65mph with wind noise.
Question: How long is the cord on the remote? Thanks
Answer: The cord is 10.5 ft long th the remote control head
Question: just installed this amp and it is producing a smell, is this normal
Answer: The smell can be from the new amp warming up during use (feel the temp of the amp if you smell it again to verify). If it's smokey or smells like an electrical fire/short, I'd disconnect everything and look for arcing/burn marks. You might have a stray power line that's hitting ground intermittently. Good luck. Trouble shooting can be a pain.
Question: can this amp push 1 1500 watt kicker 12 l
Answer: It can if you bridge it right, but later you'll want a much bigger amp. The bass is right for me. My Pioneer rms is 1400 watts for a 12" also. Hope this helps!
Question: Will this amp power two rockford fosgate 12" punch xlc 400watt speakers (200 rms
Answer: Yes
Question: Would this amp push a JL sub 12w6v3d4?..with no problems. Thank you in advance
Answer: The JL 12W6v3D4 is a dual 4 ohm voice cool. If they are wired parallel (see owner'a manual) you with have a 2 ohm subwoofer and receive the 500watts. JL recommends a 200-600 watt amp, so this amp is well within those specs.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this amplifier waterproof
Answer: This is a loaded question do to many people having different opinions about it. Some say the more strands allow for easier flow and less voltage drop when power consumption goes up. There are opinions all over about this topic, so I will give you what I have. I ran both positive and negative 10 awg automotive type wire, running my tower with 4 6x9 speakers and it all works just perfect. Wire run length was 17ft. The bluetooth works well but range is just about 5ft in my application.
Question: Does it come with a volume control knob
Answer: Hi, yes you can connect your mobile phone using Bluetooth. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PLMRA430BT for more details. Thank you.
Question: Anyone try installing in a 2013-2015 Dodge Dart
Answer: Yes but it’s a POS
Question: Would I need an amp wiring kit
Answer: I've used these amps several times. If your referring to subwoofers, you can run a low-pass filter. Using the smaller 4 channel version of this amp, I run two 6.5" speakers from channel 1 and 2, and bridge the 3rd and 4th channels to run through a low pass filter to a subwoofer. Sounds good.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this amp power 3 alpine w10s4 subwoofers
Answer: The digital channels 30-1, 30-2, 30-3 and above are technically on the same broadcast channel. In the antenna world, the broadcast channel is not necessarily the same as the number that shows up on your TV.In Detroit, where we are 4.1 is NBC and the sub-channels 4.2 and 4.3 come along with it. However it is broadcast on a channel VHF 7 in our area. You can use websites like antennapoint.com to find out the broadcast channel, which is often referred to as an RF channel or REAL channel. This device was designed after the digital transition, and is fully capable of finding and fine tuning.
Question: im having a hard time findin a nice amp for my (2)15" kicker 2-ohm 1200w subs. i got acheap pyle 2000 watt amp and its not pushin nearly what i want
Answer: basily the pickup ability
Question: Will this power 4 Kenwood 5 way 6x9 speakers
Answer: The HD7694P measures 65" long.
Question: When setting the gain on my amp, do I set bass knob remote included all the way up or all the way down? (Not talking about the bass boost on the amp
Answer: This wall plate amplifier provides amplified antenna signal to 2 TV sets. It does not provide 12V DC to the antenna. The 12V DC to the wall plate amplifier provides power to the amplifier and to the 12V DC socket on the plate as a convenience to power 12V DC items. The signal from the antenna is amplified to improve reception for 2 TV sets. In a typical RV installation with more than 2 TV outlets, one output from the amplifier is fed to a signal splitter in order to fed the extra outlets. That splitter may be installed inside the wall behind the wall plate amplifier. If the amplifier is turned off the amplifier switches to the cable source if connected, but does not amplify the cable signal. Kenwood KAC-9106D - Reliable performer

Kenwood makes tough, rugged amplifiers that bring you superior sound quality along with reliable performance. When you power your subwoofer with Kenwood's Performance Series KAC-9106D amplifier, you'll hear all the great tonal color, impact, and detail in your music's bass, from the hard punch of the rhythm section to the soft thump of a quiet kick drum.

CEA-2006 Compliant:

CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4Ω load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N), and over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers under the same conditions (apples to apples). Using CEA-2006 criteria, the Kenwood KAC-9106D is rated at 500 watts RMS x 1 channel with a 76 dBA signal to noise ratio. The signal to noise ratio at the rated power output (not CEA-2006 conditions) is 100 dB.

Connections:

Power Connections: The power and ground connections are 0.55" wide screw terminals. The remote turn-on screw terminal is 0.335" wide. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended. The manual lists a minimum of 10 gauge wire for power and ground, but given the 120 amp fuse value and the current consumption specification of 65 amps, we recommend a 4 gauge wiring kit.

Speaker Outputs: There are two pair of 0.335" wide screw terminal speaker outputs; they are internally wired in parallel, making it easy to connect two subwoofers. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are also recommended for the speaker wires.

Controls:

Gain: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the KAC-9106D features an adjustable gain control, 0.2-5.0 volts line level (RCA) and 4.0-12.0 volts speaker level.

Crossover: The built-in 24 dB/octave low-pass filter has a continuously variable crossover point, 50Hz to 200Hz. Because this is a subwoofer amp, the crossover is always engaged.

Bass Boost: The bass boost is adjustable from 0-18dB at 40Hz.

Kenwood

Based on 18 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Kenwood's Excelon X502-1 mono subwoofer amplifier can send up to 500 watts RMS to your subwoofer, and it'll fit almost anywhere in your vehicle. A precise low-pass filter lets you optimize the sound for your sub, while the built-in bass boost lets you dial in just the right amount of thump. The subsonic filter removes ultra-low bass so that your amp and subs can operate more efficiently.

Class D technology ensures that this compact amp will run cool and perform reliably. Kenwood divided the amp's internal circuitry — analog, digital, and power supply — onto separate, non-overlapping circuit boards for improved overall sound quality. The X502-1 accepts input signals via RCA cables from an aftermarket receiver or by way of your vehicle's speaker wiring, so it'll work with almost any mobile audio system. If you do use the speaker-level inputs, the amp can sense the signal and turn itself on, so you won't need to run a separate remote turn-on lead to the receiver or fuse box.

Kenwood KAC-D5101 - Class D Mono Power Amplifier

D Series Amplifiers provide a powerful solution in a compact design, ideal for upgrading your car audio system.

Dual Sigma Drive

This advanced negative feedback circuit improves damping factor and increases accuracy and sound quality. When a signal is passed to a subwoofer, like a 50Hz note, the speaker will move and create the note. However, because the speaker has mass and a suspension, it won't stop moving once it's in motion. This extra movement (sound) creates a type of distortion that's not part of the original signal. The negative feedback circuit senses this unwanted movement and sends out an opposite pulse to stop the speaker like an electronic brake.

Small Size Big Power

The KAC-D5101 is small in size but with its tremendous sound output, it is extremely versatile. It can be installed in vehicles where space is limited and is perfect for vehicle owners who don't want to sacrifice cargo room or who prefer hidden installations.

CEA-2006 Compliant

Product description

Kenwood's Excelon X302-4 four-channel amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS per channel, yet still fits almost anywhere in your vehicle. Switch this amp over to bridged, 2-channel mode, and you can power a pair of high-performance speakers or subs with 150 watts RMS each. In 3-channel mode, you can use the amp's front channels to drive a pair of speakers with 50 watts each, and bridge the rear channels to send 150 watts to a sub.

Class D technology ensures that this compact amp will run cool and perform reliably. User questions & answers

Question: Can i bridge this amp
Answer: Yes
Question: I want a remote bass control knob for this amp, but need to know which one I need and how to wire it
Answer: The JL 12W6v3D4 is a dual 4 ohm voice cool. If they are wired parallel (see owner'a manual) you with have a 2 ohm subwoofer and receive the 500watts. JL recommends a 200-600 watt amp, so this amp is well within those specs.
Question: Can this amp power a bazooka mbt1014 10-inch 4-ohm marine subwoofer
Answer: There were two different answers for width of opening. 21" and 24" I wonder which one is correct.
Question: Will this Amp allow Bridging
Answer: the stabilizing bar is 1 and a half inches wide. it will hit your plumbing from 5 and 1/2 to 7 inches. my plumbing came through the wall at 7 inches so I took the bar off, put the unit in place, then reattached the bar going under the plumbing. if your plumbing comes through the wall above 7 or below 5 and a half inches you will be ok.
Question: Can I power 2 10" 150w rms with this guy? I dont really understand bridging
Answer: 38" from floor to bottom of first shelf.

Product features

Kenwood KAC-M3001 - Power a sub wherever you go

Kenwood's KAC-M3001 compact mono subwoofer amplifier will power the bass in your vehicle with up to 300 watts RMS. That's enough to hear the bass clearly above the noise of the road, trail, or waterway as you travel along. This little powerhouse will fit almost anywhere, including a storage compartment on a boat, motorcycle, or ATV, so you can put great bass in whatever vehicle you wish.

High-level inputs ease installation

The KAC-M3001 will accept a signal from just about any source, whether you're using RCA cables from an aftermarket receiver or speaker wires from a factory radio. When you use the speaker-level inputs, the amplifier will sense the signal and turn itself on, so you won't need to run a remote turn-on lead to your car stereo.

Compact Amplifier

The Kenwood KAC-M3001 compact Class D mono block amplifier is designed to drive a subwoofer (or two). The amp features a conformal coating on the circuit board to protect it from moisture. This allows you to use the amp for motorcycles, marine applications, or on All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The KAC-M3001 delivers 200 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms. It also gives you 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms.

Connections

Power/Power Control Connections: The power, ground, and power control connections are 0.35" wide screw terminals. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors or ring terminals are recommended. A minimum 10-gauge wire is required for power and ground.

Power Control: The Power Control wire should be connected to the head unit's remote turn-on lead when an aftermarket unit is used. This wire does not need to be connected if you're using speaker level inputs. The Signal-sensing Turn-on feature will turn on the amplifier when an input signal is detected.

Line-Level Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with a pair of RCA inputs for connecting a stereo RCA patch cable from the head unit to the amp. If using a factory head unit, or a unit without preamp outputs, you can splice the speaker wires to an RCA plug, maintaining the same polarity.
