Question: | Can I install in a Harley batwing fairing |
Answer: | Is that a bike? If it's 12 volt yes... It's just a question of where are u going to mount the amp |
Question: | So if i used channel 1&2 for bridge i get 130 watts rms and then can i use channel 3&4 for 2 6 1/2 4ohm and get 50 watts rms for those speakers? sorrn |
Answer: | Channels 3 and 4 have a bass control, so it would be better to bridge those for a sub. Then use 1 and 2 for your 6.5” speakers. But yes you are correct on the watts |
Question: | What is the wire size for 12vdc |
Answer: | At least 8 gauge |
Question: | does it come with the wiring harness |
Answer: | Mine did just power though. If you're looking for rca style plugs not included with the amp |

User questions & answers
Question: | How much speaker wire does this kit come with |
Answer: | Yeah it can I have mine mounted under the seat of my 2014 chevy silverado double cab rear seat with 2 10 inch Fosgate subwoofer |
Question: | Will this fit in a 2017 Toyota Tacoma ? Wanted to make sure it’s enough wire |
Answer: | This amp is stable at 1 ohm. If you have two DVC subs then wire each 4 ohm coil in parallel, dropping the impedance to 2. Then take the subs and wire them in parallel together for 1 ohm. This process requires great subs like Orions or similar. But I will say from experience as I've done this with 2 12" Orion 2NT subs and the sound pressure would blow your hat off your head and strike the windshield. The power rating from Alpine is tested in the factory@4 ohm and it pulled 660watts RMS. So one ohm will make you think otherwise. |
Question: | Will this run two 600w rms subs |
Answer: | First of all you will likely need a capacitor to supply enough power to the amp during the peaks. SWR -12D4 wired in parallel will give it a 2 OHM load for the amp to produce 500W rms. That said you need an amp to make 750W rms to take a full advantage of type R 12 woofer. |
Question: | Why does it say 1200w Max on the box not trying to blow my speakers anyone know |
Answer: | It doesn't come with it but you can buy it separately. |

Big bass power from a small package Alpine makes it a little easier to get great bass in your vehicle, especially if you drive a compact car. Their S-Series S-A60M mono subwoofer amplifier can deliver up to 600 watts RMS to your sub, guaranteeing some powerful bass on your drive. And Alpine made this amp so small - it's got less than an 8" by 8" footprint and it's just over 2" tall - it can fit almost anywhere. Technology that keeps you on the air Enhanced Shutdown Performance technology rolls back the output a bit when the amp threatens to overheat from playing at its limits too long. Instead of shutting down completely, it continues playing your music, until it cools enough to return to full power. Convenient features A low-pass filter and adjustable bass boost put you in command of the frequencies that reach your subs. The amp includes preamp- and speaker-level inputs, so you can install it in almost any vehicle, even one with a factory radio. If you're using the speaker-level inputs, the amp senses an incoming signal and turns itself on, eliminating the need to run a turn-on wire back to your vehicle's receiver or fuse box. An optional wired remote lets you control bass level from the driver's seat. S-A60M control panel
- 330 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
- preamp and speaker-level inputs
- variable bass boost
User questions & answers
Question: | Will these power 2 10in pioneer subs |
Answer: | No, only powered outputs |
Question: | Im usimg this amp on one 8 inch alpine type r. will this be able to handle a 2nd 8 inch? i believe its 300 or 330 rms |
Answer: | Yes, I have 4 outdoor speakers being powered by the amplifier. The only issue I have found is that if you are going to use the RCA connections, you have to use all 4 RCA connections to get the audio to all 4 speakers. I have been using the Bluetooth option since that will output the audio to all 4 channels. |
Question: | Will this amp push 1 12" type R good |
Answer: | I would say no. There is a volumn, treble, and base controls, but no balance control. |
Question: | Is this amp 600rms @ 2ohms |
Answer: | It is bridgeable.. if you know what you are doing. If not you will let the magic smoke out |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a 2014 Chevy Spark with the standard 4 speaker system. Upgraded speakers, need more power now. Is this compatable |
Answer: | I use it regularly with Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7GM headphones (35 ohm) and Grado SR80's (32 ohm). Sound quality is close to wired with apt-x source and plenty of volume for my tastes. |
Question: | So I have a jvc radio that outputs 50x4 and 22rms x4 will this add some more power because I have aftermarket speakers as well |
Answer: | It's support the regular 3.5mm jack. I have Shure SE846, UE900 and it works well. No hiss or static. I DO NOT know the technical parts. Good luck. |
Question: | F150 standard stereo leased. Is this an easy hookup and do factory HU have RC outputs |
Answer: | Not sure why it wouldn't work with the new iOS, it's a standard usb audio device no special software needed. The plug is mini USB (not micro) so you need a plug that will go from the Apple connector to mini USB. |
Question: | I have a Pioneer DEH-X6800BT receiver and a Honda Civic 98. Would I need to buy anything additional to install this? Thank you |
Answer: | Can you retype the question, if your meaning MW milliwatt that's not how you even look for these portable Headphone Amps... You want most dynamic range audio with less distortion... I can tell you that I don't recommend this Model as most have an issue with the Batterys not charging in them with a certain firmware... It's taken me 4 weeks to get the factory to send me replacement Batteries that I still have to replace myself... |
Question: | Is this amp suitable for a custom 10" cargo sub for an 07 Dodge Durango truck, and can it be mounted under a seat |
Answer: | As I understand it (ahem, ahem), by plugging into the USB port the unit completely bypasses the sound card (which is on a different system bus). I do know that it completely bypasses your computer sound controls and you must use the controls on the FIIO, and that's what you'd expect if the card was bypassed. Can't say I'm sure that the computer hardware won't balk if there's no working sound card, even if it's not being used, but seems unlikely that'll cause a problem. |
Question: | Will this amp power "two" alpine swr-12d4 type-r 12" subwoofers with dual 4-ohm at the same time |
Answer: | Yea it'll work with any computer. And I use it for my iPad with the USB camera adapter |
Question: | Will this work with either Alpine Type R's, SWR-12D4 and SWR-12D2? Would the 2 ohm pull more power from my battery dimming headlights more |
Answer: | No, unless there are no provisions for shutting off when charged, and only then. What most people seem to think about electricity is that the amount of power available is how much will be used. Say you have just a main disconnect on 100 amp service and the only thing wired in your house is a 120 watt light bulb. Unless there's a dead short (which would draw enough current to trip the breaker in most cases, assuming the wires aren't too lonh) it's going to draw 120 watts ÷ 120 volts = 1 amp. It's not going to run 100 amps through the bulb. Devices on charge DRAW current, they are not pushed. |
Question: | Hi, Does this come with Remote Bass control Knob |
Answer: | I don't know but it is very loud. I have tried different headphone amps and this one was by far the most powerful and with good sq as well. I have blown out headphones with it. |

Question: | Does this amp over heat |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | What gauge size do they use for power and ground terminals? What gauge size for the speaker terminals |
Answer: | It recommends a 12 gauge wire kit. 8 gauge should be fine, anything bigger than that might cause issues |
Question: | I have this amp in my truck my 6x9 in the front are scratchy now what 6x9 will best suit this amp |
Answer: | You can bridge it down to 2 channels (100 watts) and run a couple of 4ohm woofers. Obviously its not going to give you any crazy performance or really drive the woofers, but if you are just looking for some added bass, yes it will work. |
