| Answer: | Yes but some old film-era third-party lenses can cause an error on Canon DSLRs like this. Also, the XT and other non-pro DSLRs have a sensor that is somewhat smaller than 35mm film so lenses will seem 1.6X times longer meaning your old 35-80mm lens will not give you very wide views on the XT at all and act more like a 56-120mm lens would on your film Rebel. For this reason, you'll also want something like an 18-55mm lens to help cover the wide end. By the way, I might also recommend looking at the XTi (bigger better LCD screen, more features), Xsi or, even better, a T1i or T2i. |
