Question:	Wifi, do they use 2.4g or 5g connections or both and do they have zoom
Answer:	I have inquired about the same issues. You can do a pie, and then exclude any of the 3 zones of the pie, but apparently, they took away the most useful functionality of their entire system. The new camera only allows the arc to go 1/2 of the view range making the usefulness limited at best. Support has reached out to try to “help” but in lieu of a software or hardware change, I’m not sure what can be done to rectify the situation short of getting a Gen 2 camera with the better controls.
Question:	To set up does it force you to give permission for location
Answer:	Two things: 1) If you plan on ONLY using it indoors, then go with the NEW cheaper $60 Ring camera. It is intended for indoor use only AND still uses the old motions zones instead of the motion arch. Plus it offers all the same benefits as this camera (except it is indoor use only). 2) I too had a similar question when I purchased the new Ring Indoor camera for $60. My solution was to purchase an Amazon Smart Plug. Then, in the Alexa app I an event to at a specific time to turn the smart plug on and a second event to turn it off. I don't need the camera on when I'm home and I wanted a way to automate the process. The Ring Video Doorbell Elite supports both the IEEE 802.3af (PoE) or 802.3at (PoE+) standards so ensure that your switch is capable of using either one. Also, if you are using a POE switch, look at the switch's rated POE wattage especially if you are wiring in multiple POE devices. Answer:	I have a ring floodlight and I’m so pleased with it, I want to put the doorbell in. I have a NuTone intercom system with chime that is not compatible with the Ring Pro but I found a self help video that told me how to install a 24vac relay and a 24vac transformer to make it work with the intercom chime. I was all set and waiting for the first real deal on the Pro then I find out about the elite. Since it is PoE, I suspect it should operate the NuTone chime without the modification as it doesnt draw the power like the Pro from the chime leads. Unfortunately my NuTone wiring wasn’t Cat5 but I’ll able to run it to my router without too much hassle.

Question:	Is it possible to buy a narrower viewing angle lens for this camera? It says it is comes with a 105 degree viewing angle. I need 30 to 60 degrees
Answer:	It is possible, however, cameras with a 30 or 60 degree viewing angle will not capture images close to the camera. Think of it like the zoom on a camera when you take a photograph. When you zoom in the angle of view gets narrower but subjects farther away get closer. You could get a variable focus camera such as the STH-B3180W by STOiC Technologies and zoom it in or out to get the picture you want. A narrow FOV (Field of View) is generally used to bring a target area closer or see farther down a narrow hallway, etc. Hope that helps!
