Answer:	The small round base is magnetic and meant for being mounted on a wall. The back of the camera has a round area matching the shape of the base. It works extremely well and allows you to manipulate the camera angle until you have the desired field of view.

Answer:	You will need to use concrete block/strucco screws rather than using the screws provided with the mount. The diameter of the concrete block/stucco screws should be no larger than the screws provided with the mount.

Question:	Can the cameras be set up to record 24 hours a day
Answer:	Not in the way you are thinking, no.These cameras go to sleep and only record when motion is detected. You can set it to record for 20 to 120 seconds after motion is detected.There is no way to have these cameras record continuously. The batteries wouldn't even last a day even if you could.You can get a live feed from a camera on your phone/pc, but again that will drain its battery quickly.
Question:	Is the base station included in this package with 5 cameras
Answer:	The base station is included but the one I received was not the model listed. This lists a VMS3530 and I received a VBM3010. The one I received DOES NOT allow for local storage. If you're looking for that, you need to get a system with an ARLO PRO base station.
Question:	Can you save the recorded images to an external source so not lose the video after the 7 days
Answer:	This system shipped with a VMB3010r2 base station. It has 2 USB ports but you cannot use an external hard drive for local storage. I didn't find this out until I hooked everything up. You will not get the option to add a local storage device in your account. Consequently, NO - you cannot with this base station, without downloading each clip from cloud storage.

Answer:	I believe you can forego the base station if you start w/ the ARLO Q camera. It is it's own station and any others can be synced w/ it.

Question:	What distance can the cameras be from the base unit
Answer:	If you’re not happy with the Arlo’s range, you should also look at how close your Arlo base is to your router and or TV, as anything that produces wifi will create an electromagnetic field of about 3 feet, (which is why most ethernet cables are made about 3 feet long) while TVs produce an electromagnetic field of about 12 feet. This will greatly diminish your base’s range by at least 20-30 feet. If you don’t believe me, try it in your home just with your own router, move it away from your TV and you’ll see how much more range you'll have.
Question:	Is it compatible with smartthings
Answer:	The Arlo Ultra is not compatible with SmartThings at this time.
Question:	Can arlo ultra cameras be added onto the arlo pro 2 base station
Answer:	No, but the older arlo caneras can connect to the ultra base station. The cameras just need to be rest by taking the batteries out for 20 minuets before pairing to the new station.
Question:	Can you use the older cameras pro/pro2 with the ultra? ultra w/ 1 camera system then add an arlo pro 2 camera
Answer:	I own the Arlo Pro 2 HD (Cameras and Base station) and have an older Arlo Pro cam connected to the base station. Works like a charm. Also using the Arlo solar panels on most cameras. We added the new Arlo door bell and Chime to the kit and everything works like a charm!

Answer:	They are 720p HD. The quality is ok. When you zoom in you will face distortion. If you have a big house and the distance between cams are faraway you will have a connection problems and delays so you need to get extra base unit which is same for all versions. I am not really satisfied with the product overall. It does the job but still not very satisfied.

Question:	Is this Ultra 2 version the same as the 2-pack version that Arlo makes or did they strip something out for the 4-pack Costco version
Answer:	I bought the 4 pack Ultra 2 4k version. The 2 pack on the Costco Website version is Pro 3 version with 2k resolution. One pack is just 2 cameras the other has 2 cameras a base station an extra battery and a solar charger. Mine had the 4 cameras and the base station. The base station on the Ultra 2 and the pro 3 do not have any USB support only a Micro SD slot so you wont be able to add a 1,2,3,4 TB drive to ho local recording. The earlier version had that feature where you could add an external driven the Ultra 2 will be limited by the capacity of a Micro SD card. This is not a bad thing just a change.
Question:	Can you remove the total security mount from the camera
Answer:	You can remove the total security mount from your camera but you would have to purchase a standard housing and a mount for it.

Answer:	You’re going to need to have it plugged in constant regardless of anything it has to be plugged in they have a 25 foot outdoor cord it cannot be solar panel that will not work and then yes you need a plan scription to pay every month for one camera is like $20
Question:	Is there any external/stand alone motion sensor available to trigger this or any arlo camera
Answer:	The first point to make is the Arlo Ultra camera has its own sensor which will trigger recording if armed. The downside with the Ultra/Pro 3 cameras is they are currently to not integrate with I.E. Smartthings hub. The Arlo Pro/Pro 2 do integrate with Smartthings. Therefore the Arlo Pro/Pro 2 which is connected to your Smartthings hub can be triggered with an external sensor which is also connected to you Smartthings hub. The Arlo Pro/Pro 2 cameras however have 1080p. The Arlo Ultra 4k. Basically Arlo do not allow you to have it all. Many people not purchasing or returning Arlo Ultra system once they realise they dont integrate with Smartthings hub and cannot have the functionality you are most likely looking for.

Question:	Can I have the base of the system in another room than where is the router? without a cord plugged in the router at all times
Answer:	The base needs to be hard wired into your network with an Ethernet cable at all times. The wireless part of the system is from the cameras to the camera base only. It is recommended to have the base at least 20' away from the WI-FI router (if you are using a WI-FI setup), because it can cause some problems. In my case, it wound up slowing down my Wi-Fi speeds from 100mbps+ down to 5-10mbps!! Once I put the base in another room from my Wi-Fi router, it hasn't been a problem since.The bottom line is that it needs to be wired, so you have to either run an ethernet wire from the router to anywhere that you want the camera base, or plug the camera base into an Ethernet switch somewhere in the home (if you are using switches), or run a 20' wire to your Wi-Fi router and keep the base across the room (if you're using a WI-FI router).I hope this helps and answers your question.
Question:	If the internet goes down but the network remains will the cameras still record to the connected usb hdd
Answer:	From the User Manual: If the camera and base station are powered on, but the Internet goes down, the camera continues to record to the USB storage device.
Question:	Does the Arlo Pro address the recording delay issue with the original Arlo
Answer:	Arlo Pro senses an activity, then it starts recording. Hence the delay in recording. NETGEAR addresses this issue in the Arlo Pro 2. The Arlo Pro 2 has a 3-second look back to let you see what event set off the camera to begin with. You can also record with the Pro 2 continuously. BUT the camera has to be on AC power...which for some is pointless, because what's the point of "wireless" if it's...not wire-less? And if you choose to record continuously, you have to pay premium for cloud storage. If you have the Arlo Pro, you have to live with that delay or you can tactically position the camera to accommodate that delay. For example, instead of putting it on the front door looking out from-the front door, how about position it so it's looking at-your front door from 20 feet away (20 to 25 feet away is good operating distance for these things). That way when a person crosses the motion sensor, it triggers the recording just when the individual is turning around to walk away getting their face and all? Like mount it on a tree or post outside looking at the front porch/door, for example. Of course you'd probably have to remove sturdy branches to insure squirrels and birds don't camp out in front of it.
Question:	Have the following issues been resolved: recording starts late (see people walking away) and hub uses the same channel as the main router

Question:	How long does that battery last under normal operating conditions
Answer:	Average about 1 month. I have used Energizer Lithium one time batteries, Tenergy Li-ion rechargeable batteries, and now Morpilit Li-ion rechargeable batteries. The better brands last a smidge longer BUT it all depends on your camera settings, average video quality with low motion detection (so only people are detected, not leaves or birds) the batteries will last over a month. If you forget to change your settings, the battery life can range from 2 days to 3 months. It all depends on the user and battery brand. These CR123A batteries are incredibly expensive so you will want to invest in rechargeable ones. Hope that helped :)
Question:	Is local storage supported? What happens when you lose internet connection
Answer:	To answer the first question: you can download the video onto your laptop/tablet/mobile device by transferring from either the website or app. The arlo does not support SD cards. If you want your video to be stored directly to the camera, you should be looking at the arlo q plus. If you loose internet connection, you are not able to record. If you loose power to your house, you are unable to record. You could technically keep your network alive if it were connected to a battery powered uninterruptible power supply like APC, but the more devices you have connected to that would decrease your power supply (plus battery power would vary depending on MAH of the UPS). You would need to plugin your modem, router, and the arlo to this battery powered UPS. It is also using the 802.11n which by today's current standard is overly used. Placement of your arlo base is also key to optimize getting maximum connectivity as you may experience interference from your neighbors, cordless phone, microwave, and other devices connected to your 802.11n.Once your connection is restored, the Arlo would resume the way its designed to function.https://www.amazon.com/APC-Battery-Backup-Protector-BE750G/dp/B000Z80ICM

Answer:	Yes, I think so. I am using 1650mAh 16pcs B0861FCY3F which is designed for all the models. They are well packaged and do a good job for my arlo 3530 and 3430.
Question:	will it save recordings for the police
Answer:	be aware the recording quality is on 720p so more or less useless for things like plate numbers or facial recognition.... the best you will get is a WM 30-40 yrs wearing a dark hoody and a time of the event.... worst money I ever spent on a camera, sorry for the brutal honesty

• Keep active locations in the camera's field of view. Your Arlo camera has a 110-degree viewing angle. Position your camera so that the space that you want to monitor is within the camera's field of view.
• Elevate your camera. Mount your Arlo motion-detection camera at least 7 feet (2.1 meters) above the floor and aim it slightly downward for the best sensor performance.
• Ensure that side-to-side traffic crosses Arlo's field of view. Arlo's motion sensor is much more sensitive to side-to-side movement across its field of view than to movement directly toward or away from the camera. The best area for motion detection is 5 feet to 20 feet (1.5 to 6 meters) from the camera position.

How can I extend the range of my Arlo system?

Instead of connecting the Arlo base station directly to your router, you can connect the base station to an Ethernet port on a Wi-Fi range extender or Powerline adapter. This means you can put the Arlo base station farther away from the router or in a central location in your home to get better coverage with your Arlo cameras.

Does motion detection work through glass or windows?

Motion detection does not work through windows reliably. Arlo cameras use motion detection technology that is inhibited by glass, especially windows. Passive infrared, the type of motion detection used by Arlo Wire-Free cameras, detects changes in heat. Most glass used in homes today is insulated, limiting the movement of heat through the glass.
