Answer:	They aren't really designed to be. They're like casters on a chair; they have a retaining ring within the leg itself, and would not be as easy as a lever-release type of system. You could remove them with enough know-how or force, but it could weaken the retention ring over time.

Answer:	I am not accurately sure of the supporting weight, but what I do,on the tripod I mounted a gallon water bottle with water to the tripod hook the tripod is mounted on the on this dolly, for wind stability. Answer:	The wheels are great, no noise smooth rolling. The width per height ratio makes for a shakey picture. Pulling or pushing doesn't matter it also makes it hard to corner and keep the frame. Clamping on some tripods can be an issue also. Construction and durability are great.
