The pistol grip is MUCH easier to use when adjusting.

2.Connect phone clamp to the plate with 1/4 screw

Answer:	Yes. Folded up, it's about 6in tall and 3.5in thick. It's a solidly built product and does feel a bit heavy (about 1.5 lbs) for its size.
Question:	Does this tripod head tilt completely horiztontally
Answer:	The head will turn 90 degrees to one side and spin. Very sturdy tripod. I use it with a Nikon D800 and a Sigma 180 macro lens, together about 10 lbs.
