Answer:	I did not purchase the mat for its intended use. In my home we have hardwood floors. In the den we have a grouping of recliners and end tables. They tended to drift out of position with daily use. It seemed to me that a large mat may solve the problem, so I began looking on Amazon to get some ideas. The mat that I choose was made by a manufacturer with whom I was unfamiliar, but I have never had a problem with Amazon standing behind its products. When I unpacked the shipping container, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the product. It has been about a year since I took delivery of the mat. My recliner sits in the middle of it. My powered chair with me in it probably tops four hundred pounds. This past Thursday our house keepers came and vacuumed where my recliner sits. Answer:	I think they would be fine for this. We have them in our basement and our 65 lb pitbull will come down and run laps on them. I was afraid they would get all scuffed up, but no effects thus far since we put them in 7 months ago. My daughters have also had sleepovers down there where they spilled iced tea and had crumbs from chips everywhere and it was relatively easy clean-up, which seems like this would be good for...dog....types of clean-ups!

Answer:	NO, you will hate yourself. Lay down some plywood if you have to keep the carpet. The combination of rubber flooring and soft carpet will basically act like a giant cushion and make it spongy. I have this floor overtop of Plywood on my carpet with a layer of tarp between carpet and plywood and I have my entire Rogue Fitness Racks on them. Works perfect that way.
