Answer:	Any AF-S lens should work with your camera. This is due to the fact that AF-S lenses have a built-in motor. Since your camera has no motor, it requires these lenses for auto focus. Your 70-300 lens must not have been an AF-S.

Answer:	It really depends on what subjects you will be shooting, how much you will use it and what your budget is. The Nikon (NIKKOR) lenses are more ruggedly built than similar products from Tamron or Sigma. Optically, I think that the Tamron would be a good lens, just not as durable. I have shot with Nikons since 1973 and have only ever bought NIKKOR lenses. I use my cameras and lenses every day, so they see a lot of use and, inevitably, a certain amount of abuse--shooting in rain, snow, bumps, scrapes, etc. If you only use your D40 once every 2 or 3 weeks, the Tamron will probably fill your need. As to subject, I think you will find the 300mm lens to be too long for sports. I have both the 18-200mm DX NIKKOR and the 70-200 FX NIKKOR lenses and they are plenty long for field sports. If you shoot wildlife, you will appreciate the 300mm lens, and you might even want to add a teleconverter to it for longer reach. On the shorter end, if you already have the 18-55mm zoom, the 55-300 will fit right in. The NIKKOR 55-300mm sells for under $400, bearing in mind that it is a DX format lens, which is fine for the D40. If you think you might eventually upgrade your camera body, take a look at the NIKKOR 70-300mm lens. It is an FX format lens, which will work on any Nikon body, is the same aperture as the 55-300 and is only about $190 more than the NIKKOR 55-300mm. All of the lenses I am suggesting have Nikon's Vibration Ruduction (VR) built in which is good for 2-4 f/stops slower shutter speed when hand holding the lens. If you know that you will only be using a tripod for very long focal lengths Nikon does have an FX 70-300mm f/4-5.6 that sells for about $160. Caution, do not try to handhold that lens at 300mm at shutter speeds below 1/250 second, but that's what we all used to do. Still, I highly recommend the Vibration Reduction Lenses.

Answer:	With the D750, which is a full frame sensor camera, you may be better served with the 50mm 1.8G which provides a "natural" view. The 35mm 1.8G is an excellent lens, but on the D750 is moving toward the "wide" angle end of thing. You might consider buying both lenses as they are both very attractively priced, and would give you more options for street photos while traveling.

Answer:	"G" lenses are gelded and do not have an aperture ring. "ED" refers to extra low dispersion glass. There is a lot of information about this on the Nikon website. The "AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G" is intended for APS-C or DX Nikon HDSLRs only, where as the "AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED works on DX bodies and is for full frame or FX HDSLRs and film DSLRs. If you own a DX camera and have no intention of buying a full frame body, there is no significant benefit to buying the more expensive lens.

Answer:	Three big differences: Focal distance 35 vs 50 mm the 35 will have a wider view while the 50 a narrower. If shooting in a DX camera multiply this by 1.5x2. The aperture, 1.8 is a bit darker and shallower than the 1.4. The 1.4 would allow you to take pictures with less light and with more depth of field. 3. The price... Nothing to say here. Deeper pockets, normally gets you better lenses (and I say it as a simple rule, not always true) I would stick with the 35mm as my basic lens

Answer:	Short answer yes. Long answer: It's a zoom lens, wide angle and telephoto all in one. Also has a crop factor. For example, Nikon’s “DX” cameras have a crop factor of 1.5x, so if you take a 18mm wide angle lens and multiply it by this number, the result is 27mm. This basically means that the 18mm lens on the crop sensor DX camera would behave more like a 27mm lens on a full-frame camera in terms of field of view. Likewise the 140mm is really a 210mm.

Answer:	John, I don't know the Nikon # but what may be confusing about this lens, it's a DX format lens so you'll find it at www.nikonusa.com under DX lenses. I love this lens! I shoot only DX format, but it works well for what I need. It can be used on FX format cameras, but the camera will auto-crop it to the DX sensor area. The FX or film equiv. focal lenfgth is a 15mm to 36mm. I shoot with the 18 to 300, the 80 to 400 (FX lens) and the 10 to 24. One nice bonus is all three of my lenses take the same 77mm filters. Answer:	Do not get the 14-24mm for a D7100. You will be wasting your money. The 14-24mm is a full frame (FX) lens. Your D7100 is a DX camera. On your D7100 it will be the equivalent of 21-36mm. 21mm isn't so wide for interiors. A kit lens would be better in good lighting. A wide aperture isn't so important for wide angle lenses as it is for longer lenses. The 10-24mm should work just fine for you. Simply turn on some lights and, if necessary, get a good flash and diffuser (both far less expensive than the 14-24mm). The only reason to get the 14-24mm for a D7100 is if you absolutely need the bigger aperture (i.e., you're taking picture of interiors of a castle or something (or possibly for astrophotography) where you can't turn a light on) and a wider angle isn't so important. Unless you're shooting in that very specific situation, it'd be tough to justify spending more than an additional $1000 for a lens that won't go as wide on your camera just to brighten up a room a little without a flash. At least for me, anyway.

To choose between Nikon 80-200 and 70-200 is always struggle to many photography enthusiasts. So here are some of my opinions: the good thing about the 70-200: it has VR and it is a little wider than 80-200, the bad thing: it is much more expensive and much heavier than 80-200. Answer:	Yes. The lens will work on your D600. Other than the 10mm focal length difference compared to the 70-200 2.8, the 70-200 has VR (vibration reduction). The newer 70-200 has VR II then older one has VR I. I also believe the 80-200 shoots a little "cooler" compared to the 70-200, which seems to have slightly better color rendition. This can be adjusted in post processing however. The 80-200 is also just a little slower on focussing though it has not impacted my sports photography.

Answer:	Yes the Wi-Fi works but it's a bit different. You need to download the Nikon app on you mobile device, enable Wi-Fi on your camera and provide an SSID, from your mobile device Wi-Fi settings look for camera's SSID and get connected. Then you can use the app to transfer images selectively or all at once. Another good thing is that using app you can remotely take photos so you need not buy a remote. Answer:	Yes, it will. The D7000 has a focus feeler that allows it to focus older "AF" lenses. I have an old AF 28-105 and autofocus works flawlessly.

Answer:	It will work, and all in all work as well as most manual focus lenses, better than some, since the d40x will meter correctly. It will however NOT autofocus. If manual focusing is your cup of tea, have at it, as the focal length will be fine for portraits and it is affordable.

Answer:	Yes, it's compatible. But you won't get the autofocus feature. You will need an AF-S lens.

Answer:	The D5100 only autofocuses with the latest AF-S lens, and also older professional AF-I lens. Briefly, AF-S lens have a built-in motor to drive the focusing mechanisms on the lens, whereas AF lens rely on the motor in the camera body (like the D90 or the D7000). Most traditional screw-drive AF lenses will not autofocus on the D5100, but will autofocus on the D90/D7000. Lens that say "AF-S," will autofocus with the d5100, and most lenses sold today for the D5100 are AF-S. The D5100 has no internal autofocus motor, so it will not autofocus with original-style screw-drive AF lenses. This is why some lens will autofocus with the D5100, and some won't.

Answer:	Mindy, so far the pictures I've taken have been good, crisp and clear pictures. I'm sure it would depend a lot on various factors especially light and distance. I have this lens on my Nikon 5000 all the time. It has replaced my 18-55 kit lens. I brought it with me walking around in a recent vacation to Maine and when we went sailing. It is a little heavier than the kit 18-55 lens but not as heavy as the 55-200 lens. It is so much more versatile. It has a wide angle and zoom. I'm no pro.
