User questions & answers

Question: I love the camera, but I cannot get it to capture still photos while recording a movie. Can somebody tell me how to do it
Answer: Hello Harry, Please explain what you mean you cannot get still shots while recording. Do you want the camera to display still photos when you take them and you choose when to continue taking video. Or you cannot find your still photos after you take them, you only see the video. As I explained, possibly not clearly, when you are recording a video and you press the shutter button to take a photo, the camera do not interupt your video recording to display the picture. after completing your video you press the play/review button and then you will see the photos and the video when going in reverse order. if you review from begining you will see video first then your pictures.
Question: I want to make sure I have everything I need to start shooting on day one. What accessories come in the box with the camera
Answer: I would suggest at least ordering 55-mm UV filter (acts as lense protector so you should never have to wipe/clean the coatings on your expensive lense or worry about scratches). May want to consider a circular polarizing lens (linear polarizers supposedly don't work on sensor cameras). You will also want to have an SD, SDHC, or SDXC UHS-I (letter I vs an UHS-II interface) memory card that is at least Class 10 (C with a 10 in it), UHS-1 (number 1) or UHS-3 speed class which is U with a 1 or 3 in it. I suggest at least 16 GB, with 32 GB being better. I like videos, so I got 64 GB. A case to protect your camera would be nice. I also favor a better shoulder strap and a hand strap grip. One end of the hand strap should screw into the tripod mount and supply its own tripod mount hole to allow mounting to tripod without removing the strap.
Question: can you use filters with this camera and if so what size does it take
Answer: You can use 55mm filters with the Sony HX400V
Question: can the camera be operated remotly with the smartphone for to take photos and make focus with wifi or another wireless methods
Answer: Yes this camera can be operated remotely with smartphones. You can take the picture and zoom in and out. You can see the subject being photographed on the phone. It updates every 2 seconds.

A telephoto lens gives you more than just zoom power. Telephoto lenses are great for portraits—they render faces naturally without distortion. As a second lens alongside the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR, you can cover just about any shooting situation.

Powerful Image Stabilization

At telephoto distances, the smallest camera movements can blur a photo. Video is even less forgiving—we're all familiar with shaky smartphone videos. The NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR has the most effective Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization system of any NIKKOR yet, up to 5 stops*! Your videos will be rock-steady, and your telephoto photos will be sharp and clear.

*As of October 10, 2019. Based on CIPA Standard: this value is achieved when attached to a DX-format camera with the camera’s VR function set to “NORMAL”, and when zoom is set to the maximum telephoto position.

Professional-Looking Videos

Telephoto lenses are the best way to get cinematic close-ups and shallow depth of field in your videos. Like high-end cinema lenses, the NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR is designed to suppress focus breathing—a common occurrence with smartphones that makes videos look amateurish. And both its focusing ring and control ring are virtually silent, so you won't hear any camera noises during recording.

Precision Autofocus

The NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR uses a blazing fast, nearly silent stepping motor for autofocusing, and it performs brilliantly with Z series' Eye AF to keep focus right where you want it.

High Contrast

An Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass lens element reduces color defects and glare for sharper, clearer images with outstanding contrast.

Customized Control

Assign your favorite function to the control ring—aperture control (great for iris transitions during video recording), ISO adjustments, exposure compensation or manual focus.

OPTICAL IMAGE STABILIZER

The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) effectively compensates for hand shake to minimize blur, even in telephoto. The LUMIX ZS80S provides a Zoom Compose Assist function to help regain the subject quickly when sight is lost in telephoto simply by zooming out when shooting.

20.3MP SENSOR

The LUMIX ZS80S incorporates 1/2.3-inch MOS Sensor with 20.3MP.

DFD AND FOCUSING

The LUMIX ZS80S integrates DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology to shorten set focus time, resulting in the ultra-high speed AF. The LUMIX ZS80S boasts high-speed burst shooting at 10 fps (AFS) / 5 fps (AFC) to capture fast-moving subjects just in-focus, and even allows consecutive shots in RAW.

4K VIDEO

The LUMIX ZS80S records high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3840x2160 at 30p or 24p in MP4* in addition to Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p video in AVCHD Progressive or MP4 (MPEG-4 / H.264) format with practical full-time AF. * Max. 15 min.

HIGH SPEED VIDEO RECORDING

High Speed Video mode enables recording subject with fast motion in FHD at 120 fps (60Hz Area), while Time Lapse /Stop Motion Animation are also available.

4K PHOTO MODE

With 4K PHOTO, the LUMIX ZS80S lets you capture fleeting photo opportunities at 30 fps in 8MP equivalent resolution by extracting the most photogenic frame from the 4K burst file to save as a high-res photo. And with the added Auto Marking function, choosing the best shot out of hundreds of frames is easier.

SEQUENCE COMPOSITION MODE

Sequence Composition makes it possible to create a stromotion image by synthesizing multiple images shot at a fixed frame with 4K PHOTO. A unique image reflecting the subject’s motion can be easily produced in the camera without needing a special retouching process. Post Focus and Focus Stacking functions are available as well.

LIVE VIEW FINDER

The LUMIX ZS80S integrates a new 0.21-inch 2,330K-dot equivalent LVF (Live View Finder) into a high magnification ratio of approximately 0.53x (35mm camera equivalent). The image output between the LVF and the rear monitor is switched automatically with the eye sensor on the LVF.

CREATIVE MODES

Selfies can also be shot in panorama, ideal for selfies and group selfies in front of dynamic scenic backgrounds. With Creative Panorama function, you can shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic image with consequent shots taken by overlaying the previous picture and reflect 18 filter effects.

3.0-INCH TOUCH AND TILT DISPLAY

The 3.0-inch 1040K-dot static type touch control monitor has a 180-degree tiltable structure. When the monitor is flipped up, the camera automatically activates the Self Shot mode to shoot attractive selfie portraits using Soft Skin or Slimming effects on the face.

After shooting, you can apply virtual makeup to the face in playback mode with the Beauty Retouch function.

BLUETOOTH AND WIFI

The LUMIX ZS80S integrates Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for a more flexible shooting experience with instant image sharing. Once connected to a smartphone or tablet installed with the Panasonic Image App for iOS / Android, you can shoot, browse and share images remotely, plus choose the picture quality of the photos you send.

USB BATTERY CHARGING

The LUMIX ZS80S keeps you shooting with a long battery life for approximately 380 pictures per charge. Thanks to the eco 30 fps mode, you can shoot up to approximately 340 pictures even while using a LVF. The battery can be recharged via AC or USB.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work with a d
Answer: Yes it works perfectly with the af-s lens
Question: Can the lens be set to infinifty focus
Answer: No, it can't. There is no DoF scale on the lens.
Question: Can this lens take pictures in lower light than the 18-140mm
Answer: Depending on the apeture setting of the lens woud determine if the lens will take pictures in a lower light. For the most part, the larger the zoom area the more light will be permitted into the lens. and as far as this particular lens you can't find better glass for a lens than Nikkor (Nikon) for the price. Unless you want to go into the thousands of dollars for a Hasseelblad (spelling wrong) the glass used for Nikon lenses will give you 1.5 to 2 better stops better for the amount of light produced ot the end of the lens. Cannon is also better quality but Nikon has always been my choice between the two. One more thing, if you want to wait for a better price you can wait for a refurbished llense. When these lenses get sent back to the factory for a flaw or problem the quality control is actually better than the original one and you end up getting a better lense or at least one equal to a brand new lense. I picked mine up for $76.00 and it has produced extra good portraits in RAW format. To prevent me from giving a lesson on the difference between JPG and RAW formats let me just say that if you take a picture in RAW vs JPG format you will receive a picture that you could blow up 5 times larger without pixilation with RAW and there is NO compression. It is the compression algorithm in digital cameras that ruins great photos. If you use RAW format there is o compression and you get full control of color, saturation, definition and other things that gives you a picture that COULD (if used correctly) a picture that can rival film. (Never as good but rival). One more thing, you have to down load the software from either Cannon or Nikon to work with your RAW photographs. Just go to the camera site.
Question: i received it:made in Thailand
Answer: Both of my genuine Nikon lenses were made in Thailand, the 18-55mm and 70-300mm. I always call Nikonusa.com when I buy a lens or camera.nThey will verify your serial number and give you all the info to ensure that your product is genuine. Link: http://www.nikonusa.com/en/index.page

User questions & answers

Question: Just got a Nikon P510. It should fit right
Answer: if you check the review someone says it does fit their Nikon P510. its a really nice bag and my Nikon Coolpix L820 fits great in it. go threw the reviews and look at the measurement. should give you a better idea
Question: What are the physical dimentions
Answer: If you check the dimensions given in the information on this product you will find the size. HOWEVER, I believe they have overstated the size by about an inch in two of the three dimensions given. I bought it to use for my Sony Cybershot DSC-HX200V which is a hybrid camera that is smaller than the SLR camera. It barely fits in this case. I was disappointed and then purchased the AmazonBasics Backpack for SLR cameras & assessories. It is great! Holds the camera, cables, etc. plus my point and shoot camera. I use the Case Logic just to carry the camera along out on a photo shoot. I guess it depends what you are going to use the Case Logic for as to whether you will find it adequate.
Question: Will my Canon EOS Rebel T3 EF-S 18-55 II fit inside this bag? Room for an extra lens
Answer: I am not sure if this helps, but I will transfer some of the researching back to you. This is what I can help with: I have used it to store a Sony camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX200V. I also stored some accessories in it such as extra batteries, wall charger, USB cable. Depending on what kind of lens and size of box you have on it, it may be possible to add it, but the most important thing is to make sure the camera fits confortably first. As far as the bag goes, it is a bargain for the quality. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006K551TO/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1One more thing, since you would by it from Amazon, in case it does not fit you can return it in selling conditions with all materials/packing shipped with it.
Question: What are the case measurements - height, depth, width
Answer: The DCB-304 measurements should fit devices (l x w x h): 5.8 x 4 x 4.6 in. NOTE- The width at the top is 5.5 as opposed to 4 at the bottom. ---- The exterior dimensions are: Size (l x w x h): 7.5 x 4.75 x 7 in. I use a Canon Powershot SX50 HS and that fits in the bag very well and securely. It does not rattle around in the bag.

Optical Conversion Factor: 1.5x. The world is full of amazing views—some right in front of us, others far in the distance. Capture all of them beautifully with a single lens, the outstanding all-in-one telephoto zoom AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR. Surprisingly compact and lightweight for a 16.7x zoom lens, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR draws great performance from Nikon DX-format D-SLRs and is a highly versatile second lens. Shoot wide-angle scenic landscapes and group photos, portraits with softly blurred backgrounds, super-telephoto close-ups and everything in between—if you can see it, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR can capture it. Optimized for shooting both stills and HD videos, it features specialized Vibration Reduction technology for tack-sharp photos and steady videos, even when your hands are a bit shaky. And since it's a NIKKOR, it features some of the best optics available. Whether you're looking for maximum versatility in a lens or you're just the kind of photographer who finds inspiration all around, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR will help you capture more of life's great views. Its compact, balanced design and Vibration Reduction technology help keep photos sharp and videos steady, and the lens' fast, quiet autofocus system minimizes camera noise during video recording. A little camera shake can ruin an otherwise great photos or video, especially when shooting at super-telephoto distances. To combat camera shake, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR features Nikon's Vibration Reduction technology, which provides 4.0 stops* of blur-free handheld shooting. Capture crisp, clear photos and steady videos even if your hands are a bit unsteady. To enhance that superb optical performance and increase its versatility as both a photo and video lens, the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR includes Nikon's advanced lens technologies like Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for ultra-fast, near-silent autofocusing, three Aspherical (AS) and Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements for maximum contrast and minimal lens flare and ghosting, a rounded 7-blade diaphragm for beautiful, natural background blur and Internal Focusing (IF) for a more compact, streamlined lens design.

User questions & answers

Question: Why is there such a big price difference in this lens? Some are $696 some $999 and in between. What gives
Answer: The more expensive lens is about 10 ounces heavier (!), and inch longer and has a wider diameter which you will see if you pull up the specs side by side on nikonusa.com. There are a few other differences like more diaphragm blades and a smaller minimum aperture. I am mostly happy with the less expensive model, but you might want to check out the Nikon P900 if you are shopping for a new camera and don't absolutely need a dslr.
Question: What is the difference between this new lens and the old 18-300 one? please be specific
Answer: Cheaper and lighter, but slower at the long end of the zoom when compared to the older Nikon 18-300. Lighter than my old Nikon 18-200 VR. A well worthwhile upgrade, for me that is.
Question: Will this lens work on a Nikon D
Answer: Nikon's 18-300mm is PERFECT for the D3200 & all DX SLR's from Nikon. It has a great range! Thanks - Service Photo in Baltimore.
Question: Which lens hood is compatible with this lens
Answer: This lens accepts the Nikon HB-39 hood.

User questions & answers

Question: can anyone recommend a backpack for this monster
Answer: I use a Kata backpack bag (3N1-25PL) that I had purchased several years ago. It’s somewhat padded and there’s extra room for a smaller lens, too.
Question: What are the lens’ limitations on an NEX
Answer: The SEL200600G is fully compatible with the Sony NEX7
Question: What camera bag do you use to carry/transport this lens? Is the bag spacious enough and have enough padding to protect contents of the bag? Thx
Answer: Ape case makes a nice, large lens bag. Look for the yellow interior. It only has room for the lens and camera though. No accessories. I personally bought a Tenba bag. It fits the lens and camera easily but also has a zippered storage area for flash, batteries, cards, filters. I can't remember where I bought it. It is a little bigger than a lens case but you can put everything you need in it and it is compact. Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Super Telephoto Zoom Lens

Zoom further.

Versatile 200-600mm super-telephoto zoom lens with superb image quality with 5x ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and 1x aspherical element that drastically reduce chromatic aberration and increase corner-to-corner sharpness throughout the zoom range. Fast, precise, quiet AF1tenaciously tracks moving subjects with refined control and reliability for use in the field

Outstanding G Lens resolution throughout the zoom range

The SEL200600G features outstanding corner-to-corner sharpness throughout the 200-600mm zoom range. To achieve this outstanding G Lens resolution, it incorporates an aspherical element and five ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements in a new optical design to minimize chromatic aberration that can be a problem at super-telephoto focal lengths. In addition, Nano AR Coating is used to reduce flare and ghosting.

E200-600mm with extended reach

The SEL200600G features a versatile zoom range of 200-600mm with a variable aperture of F5.6-6.3 (wide to tele). This incredible zoom range can be further extended using optional 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverters that extend the telephoto reach up to a maximum 840mm (F9) or 1200mm (F13) respectively, while maintaining outstanding image quality and AF performance. The zoom and aperture range with the 1.4x teleconverter is 280-840mm, F8-9 and with the 2.0x teleconverter is 400-1200mm, F11-13.

DDSSM delivers fast, precise, quiet autofocus 1

The SEL200600G employs Sony’s DDSSM (Direct Drive Supersonic Wave Motor) system which has the power and precision needed to drive the heavy focus group, ensuring that moving subjects are reliably and quietly tracked with exceptional speed and precision. High positioning accuracy means that pinpoint autofocus is achieved with blazing speed. The advanced DDSSM system is also

exceptionally quiet, avoiding any unwanted noise that can disrupt an unpredictable subject like a resting bird or any other form of wildlife. The Direct Drive Supersonic Wave Motor (DDSSM) focus system ensures that moving subjects are reliably and quietly tracked with exceptional speed and precision.

1 When the NEX series, ILCE-3000/3500, ILCE-5000/5100, ILCE-7/7R/7S, is attached, the autofocus function is limited.

Internal zoom mechanism

An internal zoom mechanism means that the length of the

lens remains constant while zooming, maintaining ideal

balance for stable shooting. Since the lens zoom mechanism is internal, it also has a high resistance to dust and moisture unlike other super telephoto lenses that are typically prone to drawing dust and moisture into the lens. The internal zoom offers quick zoom operation with light zoom ring torque and is ideal in difficult outdoor conditions.

11 - blade circular aperture

An 11-blade circular aperture mechanism adds to the beauty of the bokeh produced by the SEL200600G lens, making it possible to use the narrow depth of field available at super-telephoto focal lengths to produce striking images with deep, creamy G Lens bokeh.

ED glass reduces flare and ghosting

ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements take axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration caused by differences in magnification, out of the picture. The 200-600mm G Super telephoto zoom lens incorporates one five ED glass elements to maximize resolution and bokeh, while leaving precisely rendered edges with no fringing or unnatural coloration.
