13 best 7 lens
A "7 lens" configuration typically refers to a camera lens system used in SLR (Single Lens Reflex) or DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras. The term "7 lens" doesn't specify a particular type of lens but rather describes the complexity of the lens design. In photography, lenses are often characterized by their optical design, which includes the number of lens elements or groups.
Here are some key points related to camera lenses and their optical designs:
Lens Elements: Camera lenses are made up of multiple lens elements. These elements are designed to work together to focus light onto the camera's image sensor or film plane. The specific number and arrangement of these elements vary from one lens to another.
Types of Lenses: There are various types of camera lenses, each designed for specific purposes:
Prime Lenses: Prime lenses have a fixed focal length (e.g., 50mm) and don't zoom. They are known for their sharpness and wide aperture capabilities, making them ideal for low-light and portrait photography.
Zoom Lenses: Zoom lenses have variable focal lengths (e.g., 18-55mm) and allow you to zoom in and out. They are versatile and suitable for a wide range of photography situations, including landscape and sports photography.
Wide-Angle Lenses: These lenses have a shorter focal length and are used for capturing a broader field of view, making them great for landscape and architectural photography.
Telephoto Lenses: Telephoto lenses have a longer focal length and are used for capturing distant subjects, such as wildlife and sports events.
Lens Groups: Each lens element can be grouped together in various combinations to achieve specific optical characteristics. These groups are responsible for controlling aberrations, distortion, and other optical properties.
Aperture: Lenses have an adjustable aperture (measured in f-stops) that controls the amount of light entering the camera. A wide aperture (e.g., f/1.8) allows for a shallow depth of field and is excellent for achieving background blur (bokeh).A narrow aperture (e.g., f/16) increases depth of field, keeping more of the image in focus.
Lens Coatings: Modern camera lenses often feature special coatings to reduce lens flare, ghosting, and improve contrast and color rendition.
Autofocus and Manual Focus: Lenses can have autofocus capabilities, manual focus rings, or both. Autofocus lenses use motorized mechanisms to focus automatically, while manual focus lenses require the photographer to adjust focus manually.
Image Stabilization: Some lenses have built-in image stabilization systems to reduce the impact of camera shake, allowing for sharper images, especially in low-light conditions.
When considering a camera lens, photographers need to assess their specific needs and shooting style to choose the right lens type, focal length, and other features that will help them achieve their desired results. Different lens designs offer unique advantages, and photographers often build a collection of lenses to cover various photography scenarios.

User questions & answers
Question: | Where do we find the "Extension Accessory" needed to increase magnification to 2:1 and 3:1 macro as is listed in the sales information for the lens on |
Answer: | If you got the micro Four Thirds version of this lens, any "macro extension tube kit" for micro four thirds will work. This 7artisans lens has not electrical connections, it is completely manual, so, an inexpensive non electrical kit would work. But you can also get an automatic kit and use it with your other lenses to give them macro capabilities while preserving the electronic communication of the lens with the camera and have autofocus and electronic aperture control. |
Question: | is this compatible with mirrorless sony a7III |
Answer: | You would have to see if they offer the lens with a sony mount. Also you should know that the lens was developed to be used on aps-c sensors and the image will not fill a full frame sensor. |
Question: | Does this fit the Panasonic G |
Answer: | Make sure you order this lens in the version for the micro four thirds mount. That version will fit. I have used mine on both the lumix G3 and the lumix Gx7. |
Question: | Does this lens hold the aperture wide open until the shutter is pressed or does one have to stop the lens down to the taking aperture |
Answer: | You have to stop the lens down to the desired aperture before shooting. There are no electrical connections between the lens and camera. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My focus ring has stopped working, any advice on how it fix it |
Answer: | This lens has a minimum working distance of 12" so you can get pretty close to the subject. I took this photo of a carpenter bee that could be considered an example of macrophotography: https://www.flickr.com/photos/in_vitro/35901386000/in/dateposted/ I am not sure that this lens would be my preferred equipment for macrophotography of extremely small objects, such as scales from a butterfly wing. This sort of macrophotography requires dedicated equipment. You may also want to consider that this lens is very expensive (it is a professional weather-sealed lens). Fuji has a newer lens, the FUJINON LENS XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS which is roughly half the price of the XF16-55mm (and much lighter). It has excellent reviews and might suit your purposes better. Photography is all about light. The fact that you would need more light at f4 when the 18-55mm is zoomed out wouldn't be a concern for macrophotography where you are only likely to be taking photos under optimal lighting conditions. |
Question: | what are the steps for setting the shutter release for xt20? i just bought 35.. f |
Answer: | No, the barrel increases in length as you zoom from 16mm toward 55mm.Fireside Camera |
Question: | Even though these are for fujifilm x, is there a crop (i.e. 35mm = 50mm) for this lens on the xt |
Answer: | Having OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) on any lens comes at the expense of weight, power (battery life), price and complexity. The XF16-55mmF2.8 lens is already large and heavy (655g). The reason is that it has a lot of excellent glass. Would I want more weight, no. Would I want less glass, no. This is a fast, sharp professional grade lens. At the widest angle (16mm) it has an 83.2 degree AoV (Angle of View). Even at the slowest shutter speeds where movement might be apparent, OIS is not tuned for that kind of drift. At the narrowest angle (55mm) it has a 29 degree AoV. This is where OIS might be somewhat effective but, remember, this lens is still f/2.8 at that focal length which is quite fast.I am 68 years old so I value OIS when it really helps (like in the XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR).I have had no stabilization issues with the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR.Is it worth it? That is quite subjective. If you need/want a professional level, excellent lens then, yes. Snapshots, occasional hobby, always in "auto mode" then maybe not. |
Question: | What is the focus range of this lens? How close can it focus, and how much of a rotation in degrees does the focus ring rotate |
Answer: | Yes it comes with a hood and if you purchase if from us, we include a FREE multi-coated 77mm UV filter (normal 77-size threads).Fireside Camera |

User questions & answers
Question: | Panasonic H-HS043K LUMIX G 42.5mm f/1.7 Asph. is it made in Japan |
Answer: | Not as good as a makro lens. I love this lens it stays on my camera 95% of the time. |
Question: | Is there a difference between us and international version? is it ois |
Answer: | Approximately 3 feet, minimum. |
Question: | When I slightly shake this lens it has an obvious rattle. Is this normal or is mind defective |
Answer: | The Canon 75-300 is arguably their worst lens - it is a cheap kit lens that is usually bundled with the 18-55mm lens on their consumer DSLRs - i.e. EOS Rebels and XXXD model units. As has been said already it lacks IS, and is actually designed for a completely different purpose - it is a medium-to-long range tele lens, is slow and had poor optics. The 18-200 is designed as a walk-around lens, i.e. one that you might take when you want only one lens for a variety of purposes, such as traveling. As the review sites indicate, this is an ambitious range as it incorporates moderate wide angle to moderate telephoto all in one set of optics and it comes with compromises - but many of those can be resolved in camera or in post processing with applications such as Photoshop or Lightroom. It DOES boast 4 stops of IS (I would never buy a tele lens without IS). Optically this is a far superior lens to the 75-300. If you are considering a lens purchase you need to ask yourself a few questions: 1. What is your budget? 2. What are you trying to capture? There is a big difference between lenses for shooting indoors, portraits or wildlife. If you are just starting out and are not sure, I would suggest going for the Canon 18-135 IS STM model - it's got much newer tech and optics and is a good walk around unit. 3. What are you going to produce? There is a big difference in the requirements for posting images to social media or multimedia devices compared to producing large, high-resolution prints. 4. What are you prepared to carry? There is no point in getting a large outfit if you leave it at home. 5. Where do you want to take your photography? If your intent is engage in this seriously then consider the best glass you can afford. Camera bodies change almost annually and lose their value quickly, but lenses last far longer. If you have a crop sensor camera, such as a Rebel or the X00D, X0D or the 7D series then you can use either the EF-S lenses (designed specifically for crop sensors) or the EF lenses (designed for full-frame bodies). Among the EF-S lenses the best general purpose lens is the 17-55 IS USM 2.8 lens. It is big but has a large aperture that makes it work well in low lighting conditions. There is no really great APS-C tele zoom, but the Canon EF 70-300 F4-5.6 IS II USM lens is an excellent unit. Top of the line in EF units is the L (Luxury) series of lenses designed for professional work. They are robust, dust and moisture resistant, and have great optics. (The EF-S lenses have excellent glass but because of the design of the crop sensor they can be made more cheaply and they are not weather resistant). When considering the numbers for a lens you should note that the numbers indicating the focal length on a lens (e.g. 18-200mm) indicate the Field of View (what the sensor sees) for a FULL FRAME sensor. Any crop sensor sees less than a FF sensor, so to get an idea of what a crop sensor will see with ANY lens attached to it, you need to multiply the focal lengths and aperture values by the crop factor (1.6). Thus the 18-200 lens will still generate a FoV of 18-200 but what the crop sensor will CAPTURE will be Equivalent to 29-320mm. If you want to understand this principle more see the DPREVIEW article: https://www.dpreview.com/articles/2666934640/what-is-equivalence-and-why-should-i-care |
Question: | Is it worth buying if i already Have the 25mm F |
Answer: | This is a good lens just to be used in trips and you want be light. At night is not a good option. 3.5 at 18 but increase dramatically once the zoom is used. |

The Perfect Portraits Lens
This bright, large aperture F1.7 lens draws maximum light to produces a beautiful bokeh background defocus effect for impressive, more creative images. Together with a 42.5mm mid-telephoto focal distance (35mm camera equivalent 85mm), this lens is more than ideal for clear, detailed and expressive portraits.
Optical Image Stabilizer – Lumix Power O.I.S.
Large aperture lenses can produce an optimum shallow depth of field effect, but even the slightest handshake can also produce out-of-focus images. The Lumix Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), however, quickly and reliably compensates for blurring to deliver crisp, super-clear shots even when shooting in low-lit situations.
Fast Auto Focusing - 240 fps Drive Capability

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this compatible with the DMC-G6KK |
Answer: | I would not use this lens for sports photography . . .fixed 100mm on a full frame camera (160mm on crop sensor) is very limiting if subjects are much of a distance away and will produce images that will require considerable cropping if you want a close up final image or print. I actually sold this lens because I found I hardly ever used it . . .The best use for this lens is either portraits or macro photography . It excels ay both of these applications. My choice for sports photography is current 70-200 zoom f4 sometimes used with a 1.4 tele-extender . . . Just my $.02 worth |
Question: | Will it work with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF |
Answer: | Make sure you have the switches set correctly. There are 3 switches on the lens, you may have inadvertantly moved them when you switched bodies. The top switch has 3 positions: full, 0.5-infinity and 0.3m - 0.5m. The full position allows the autofocus to seek over the entire range of the lens. The second position locks out macro, allowing it to autofocus on 'normal' subjects faster. The third position does the opposite - it locks it into macro mode so it can autofocus on macro subjects faster. The second switch switches between manual focus and auto focus. The third turns images stabilization on and off. I would test it again on your 60D after making sure all the switches are set correctly. Test it in good light on a subject with high contrast. It may be worthwhile to clean the contacts on your 60D with a pencil eraser. You may also want to check if there is a BIOS update for your 60D. If it still doesn't work, you may need to contact Canon to have your 60D serviced. It's not likely to be a problem with the lens since it works fine on your other body. |
Question: | Is this fit in GF |
Answer: | The T3i is a great camera but a lens really makes all the difference. I use this macro often on a crop frame 7D similar to your T3i and had the opportunity to use it on full frame cameras too. It's fast, quiet, and the IS is fairly new (1 year old) and defiantly worth having especially on a higher focal length of 100mm. I would say this is one of my more popular lenses I enjoy. |
Question: | If you had to choose one panasonic prime lens for your mft camera - would you get this one (25mm) or the 20mm f1.7? main use: portrait, night, street |
Answer: | Yes, the Canon ET-73 clip on plastic hood |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on an x-a1? also, can you tell me the difference between ois ii and ois i? thanks in advance |
Answer: | Yes, it works with all X -series.According to Fuji the XC 50-230mm II F4.5-6.7 OIS provides a 76-350mm equivalent range on APS-C and offers improved image stabilization compared to the Mark I model (now 3.5 stops vs 3.0 stops). |
Question: | Is this compatible with the xt |
Answer: | Yes. It is compatible with all Fuji X Mount cameras. I use it on the X-T200, X-H1, and X-T1. |
Question: | Beginner/amateur here, but why are the xc lenses so much less expensive than comparable xf lenses? just aperture |
Answer: | XC is made of plastic and XF of metal. So XC are much lighter to carry around but are more prone to weather influence. Aperture is a bit different too, but the XF and XC have slightly different focal length (50-230 vs 55-200). |
Question: | Is this lens compatible with the X-A |
Answer: | yes |
