Question:	Can I record while the camera is charging? If I have a portable charger, could I have the camera plugged into that and still record
Answer:	I think the answers are confusing to some. Here's the scoop. You can use an external battery pack like the one you charge your Iphone with or you can plug it into a USB port or you can use the 110v adapter with USB cable plugged in. When you do those following things the camera is running off those power sources and not your battery. And yes, you can record while plugged into those external power sources. The battery will not charge when doing that and recording but that should not be a problem. Charge your battery at home. Now start recording and when your battery gets low plug into your external battery pack or USB and keep going. I own this camera and did the experiment. I use this in my car as a dash cam and it's plugged into my cigarette lighter and it runs non stop without using the battery.

Answer:	You need to read tripod specs to find the camera + lens weight the tripod can support. The Sony A6500 with A70-350 lens is under 3 pounds. Most, if not all, tripods can hold that weight. However, you need to consider many other factors when chooging a tripod. You might want to google how to choose a tripod/head. You need to look at load capacity, height, weight, folded length, ball heads, graphite, carbon fiber or aluminum, type of leg locks, pan & tilt range, with or without center column, your budget, etc.. Depending on what kinds of conditions or subjects you shoot, some of these factors may not be at all important to you. But you don't want to pay extra for features you don't want or need. I probably use a tripod less than 5% of the time. I don't do landscape and If I eliminated the few times a year that I shoot night skies or do light painting, I would not need or use a tripod.

Direct Drive SSM (DDSSM) for fast, quiet, precise focusing

The 24mm F1.4 GM lens supports hybrid autofocus for both contrast and focal-plane phase detection AF. It has a high-precision Direct Drive Super Sonic Motor (DDSSM) system that ensures exceptionally fast, quiet and accurate AF performance. The precision internal focus mechanism aids in AF speed by moving only the middle groups of the optical system and effectively minimizing focus breathing, while keeping the lens size compact and lightweight. In addition to being the ideal wide prime lens for stills, it is also exceptionally suited for video with a linear motor that takes on the vital role of ‘wobbling’ to providing high-speed actuation for the contrast AF detection system, for smooth, continuous AF.

Two XA (Extreme Aspherical) lens element

The 24mm F1.4 GM employs two XA (Extreme Aspherical) lens element, one of which is the front lens. This large-diameter front XA lens element features a new optical design, maximizing the advantages of the short mirrorless camera flange distance, and effectively suppresses various aberrations, especially the peripheral area in the frame and sagittal flare. Two XA elements compensate for coma, field curvature, and astigmatism that can be problems with wide-angle large-aperture optics. This also contributes to the compact and lightweight design.
