Answer:	It comes with textile cover (it is not plastic, but it is roburst enough and surpricely practical). There is no extra protection of lens and they are definitely not scratch resistant, you have to be carefull for them. But I am very satisfied with Theta S, these are not any limits in practical usage of this device.

Answer:	Nick - Yes, the on-camera display has live preview while recording. I've used the app more for playback/review and to get my images onto my iPod for social media posting (haven't really had need to shoot remotely with this yet). The built-in screen and out-of-the-box waterproofing are what make this a little easier (and more fun) to use than my GoPro cameras... being able to change settings easily and review images/video while I was snorkeling earlier this summer was great.
