10 best nikon digital movie cameras
Nikon is well-known for its digital cameras, but when it comes to digital movie cameras, they're not as prominent as some other brands. Nikon primarily focuses on still photography with their digital cameras.
However, if you're interested in shooting videos, you might want to look into Nikon's mirrorless cameras like the Z series, such as the Nikon Z6 or Z7. These cameras offer good video capabilities with features like 4K recording and advanced autofocus systems. While not strictly categorized as digital movie cameras, they are versatile and can certainly handle video shooting needs.
For dedicated digital movie cameras, you might want to explore options from brands that specialize more in video production. They often have features like cinema-grade recording formats, advanced video autofocus, and other tools specifically designed for filmmakers.
Feel free to ask if you have more specific requirements or if there's anything else you'd like to know!

Question: | How long is the queue of backorders on Nov 21-- what is the estimated wait time and/or now shipping camera to those who ordered how long ago |
Answer: | Can’t see why it won’t it’s the same puck that just about every other one use |
Question: | when wil D850 be available |
Answer: | What I've noticed with GPS connection is that parking garages block the signals. The vehicle/devices need a clean connection to the satellites. |
Question: | Is this the US model |
Answer: | It looks as though it will work on any Dashcam with the 3.5 mm GPS labeled jack on it. :) |
Question: | Does anyone have experience with this camera and the 28-300 Nikkor lens |
Answer: | After I connect the Aukey dash cam with the GPS plug in, the date and time in the video was incorrect in the first day. But starting the second day, the date and time on my LCD screen as well as the video were correct. Date and time are supposed to be automatically adjusted when you have the GPS plugged in. I had sent an email to Aukey customer service when I had the issues on day one and according to Aukey customer service, date and time should automatically adjust with the GPS plugged in. My unit has accurate date and time now. |

D850: Extreme Resolution Meets Extreme Speed
When Nikon introduced the D800 and D800E, it set a new benchmark for DSLR image quality and super high resolution photography that approached medium format. Now, five years later, Nikon proudly introduces the next evolution in high resolution DSLRs, a camera that allows photographers to capture fast action in 45.7 megapixels of brilliant resolution. With remarkable advancements across the board—sensor design, autofocus, dynamic range, sensitivity, Speedlight control, battery life, shutter and mirror drive mechanisms, Silent Photography in Live-View mode, focus shift capability and more—this is quite possibly the most impressive, well-rounded DSLR yet.
Nikon's First Back-side Illuminated (BSI) Full-Frame Sensor
At the heart of the D850 is a Nikon designed sensor like none before it—a back-side illuminated (BSI) FX-format full-frame CMOS image sensor with 45.7 megapixels and no optical low-pass filter. A marvel of ingenuity, it achieves extraordinary image quality, enhanced light gathering efficiency, faster data readout and truer color. And with such a dense array of pixels, there's virtually no risk of moire.
Faster, Richer, Sharper Processing
Faster than EXPEED 4, EXPEED 5 quickly processes all 45.7 megapixels of data for lower noise, wider dynamic range, subtle tonal and textural details, high-speed continuous shooting at approx. 9 fps1 and full-frame 4K UHD movie recording.
Sensitive to Every Little Detail
The lower the ISO, the greater the dynamic range. Like the D810 before it, the D850 has the lowest base ISO of any DSLR or mirrorless camera2—ISO 64 (expandable down to ISO 32).
Do Not Disturb
When silence is golden—shooting golf, press conferences, weddings and more—turn on Silent Photography in Live View and capture without sound or mechanical vibration. In Mode 1, shoot for up to 6 FPS continuous at 45.7 MP. In Mode 2, shoot approx. 8.6-megapixel pictures in DX image area at approx. 30 FPS for up to 3 seconds.
Tilt and Touch
The tilting touchscreen LCD screen makes it easy to get the shot, even from high or low angles. Use Touch AF, Touch Shutter control and navigate menus, playback and more as if you were using a smartphone. Zoom in during Live View shooting and use the new Pinpoint AF to put focus right where you want it.
Autofocus that Keeps Up
The D850 uses the same field-proven ultra-accurate AF system as the flagship D5. With 153 focus points, 99 cross-type sensors and a dedicated AF processor, the D850 delivers all of its 45.7 MP performance with NIKKOR lenses. Shoot in low light to -4 EV. Capturing the most elusive subjects will feel like second nature with the D850.
Focus in Near Darkness
Autofocus down to -4 EV lets you capture in low-light situations. Suddenly, fast NIKKOR primes and zooms can handle even lower light than before.
Locked-on Subject Tracking
Nikon's exclusive AF engine uses parallel processing with a sequence control microcomputer to realize high AF performance for fast-moving subjects even during high-speed shooting.
Keeps up with the Action
With up to 7 FPS at 45.7 MP, the D850 can capture the decisive frame of a bride walking down the aisle or a fashion model's fluid pose. For nailing the shot at a high-speed race or of A-listers on the red carpet, try using the optional MB-D18 battery pack and shoot full resolution up to 9 FPS.
A Multimedia Powerhouse
Multimedia content creators rejoice. You are now free to record 16:9 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) in full frame glory using the total width and resolution of the D850's back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor. Take advantage of the large sensor size for clean output at high ISO and for shooting with zero crop factor with any full-frame NIKKOR lenses4, including wide and ultra-wide angle lenses.
Quickly Confirm Focus
Confirm your manual focus with Focus Peaking. Select high, medium or low sensitivity and red, yellow, blue or white highlights. Operates in manual focus mode with AF or compatible manual NIKKOR lenses.
Light it Up
When combined with the optional WR-A10/R10 transceiver (requires firmware version 3.0 or later), the D850 can control and wirelessly fire radio controlled SB-5000 Speedlights from another room, around corners or outdoors in bright sunlight.
4K Time-Lapse in Camera
Create entire 4K UHD time-lapse sequences right in the camera—an exclusive to Nikon DSLRs. Use Silent Live View Mode to bypass the mechanical shutter and mirror movement, saving thousands of shutter cycles and improving the D850's already outstanding battery performance.
8K Time-Lapse Using Interval Timer
Render jaw-dropping 8K time-lapse movies by shooting sequences of up to 9,999 full-size stills, again using Silent Live View Mode. Using the D850's Interval Timer Mode allows you to capture over 8K-size images with exquisite detail for time-lapse movie6 creation. And with no shutter vibration, your sequences will be tack-sharp.
Your Images. The World. Connected.
Transfer your images to a compatible smartphone or tablet instantly using Nikon's SnapBridge app. The app maintains a constant connection with the D850 via Bluetooth Low Energy for seamless transfers, sharing your favorite shots and even controlling the D850 for remote shooting.

Nikon D90 DX Digital SLR Highlights
Nikon Digital SLR image quality
The D90 incorporates a newly developed DX-format CMOS image sensor with technology directly inherited from the D300, Nikon's DX-format flagship. With its 12.3 effective megapixels and extraordinarily high signal-to-noise ratio, the D90 delivers low-noise images with detail and tonal gradation beyond your expectations, while Nikon's Integrated Dust Reduction System works to free image-degrading dust particles from the sensor's optical low-pass filter.
![]() |
The D90 captures up to 4.5 images per second. Accurate 11-point autofocus is now even faster and more intelligent, aided by Nikon's exclusive Scene Recognition System. The unique Nikon 420-pixel 3D Color Matrix II Metering system, now enhanced by EXPEED image processing technologies, delivers extraordinary exposure accuracy -- immediately evident when reviewing images on the D90's super-density 3-inch 920,000-dot color LCD monitor.
New D-Movie Mode Features 720p HD cinematic quality
A new idea for D-SLRs, the D90 offers a movie function, allowing you to shoot movies in three different motion JPEG formats: 320 x 216 pixels, 640 x 424 pixels and 1,280 x 720 pixels. Now you can capture life's moving moments with added drama by using many of Nikon's NIKKOR lenses, including the AF DX Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8G ED and the Micro-NIKKOR lenses. The shallow depth of field can give your movies a more creative and emotional impact. An additional benefit is the D90 image sensor, which is much larger than a typical camcorder for higher image quality and exceptional high ISO performance during low-light shooting.
Continuous shooting as fast as 4.5 frames-per-second
The D90 captures crucial moments thanks to its impressive 0.15-second start-up time, 65-millisecond shutter-release time lag (CIPA standard) and ability to shoot at 4.5 frames a second for up to 100 shots*.
Low noise ISO sensitivity from 200 to 3200
The D90 gives you the freedom to shoot in a remarkably wide variety of lighting conditions, including dimly lit scenes, without worrying about image-degrading noise. ISO can be raised as high as Hi 1 (ISO 6400 equivalent) or lowered to Lo 1 (ISO 100 equivalent).
3-inch super-density 920,000-dot color LCD monitor
The D90's 3-in., approx. 920k-dot LCD monitor provides unprecedented quality of image display. A wide 170-degree viewing angle makes it easy to confirm focus after shooting or during Live View.
Built-in image sensor cleaning
Effective 4-frequency, ultrasonic sensor cleaning frees image degrading dust particles from the sensor's optical low pass filter.
11-point AF system with Face Priority
Thanks to Multi-CAM 1000 autofocus module, the D90's 11-point AF system has fast and precise autofocus coverage across the frame with the most sensitive AF sensor operating from the center.
In addition, the D90 has versatile AF-area modes to handle most shooting situations. The center focus point can be switched from normal to wide according to the movement of the subject.
One-button Live View
With the D90's Live View function, you can shoot effectively without looking through the viewfinder. Simply press dedicated Live View button for instant access. Three contrast-detect AF modes let you focus on any point in the frame.

Nikon 3D Color Matrix Metering II with Scene Recognition System
Nikon's renowned 420-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix Metering II, teamed with the exclusive Scene Recognition System, evaluates images, referencing an on-board database of over 30,000 photographic scenes, for unmatched exposure accuracy.

Advance Scene Modes
When you're not sure which camera settings are appropriate, simply rely on the Advanced Scene Modes. Just turn the mode dial to the appropriate icon: Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports or Night Portrait. Unlike traditional scene modes, the D90 will automatically optimize the exposure, image processing, Active D-Lighting, and Picture Control to get the most out of your subject matter. What's more, the D90 has exceptional low-noise performance and accurately adjusts the camera settings whether VR (Vibration Reduction) is activated or not, so you can expect beautiful, crisp images, even in many low-light scenes.
Auto Active D-Lighting
Details in the shadows and highlighted areas of your photos are often lost when strong lighting increases the contrast between the bright and dark areas of your image. Nikon's unique Active D-Lighting technology accurately restores these important details by localizing tone control while you shoot. Choose from four levels, including the new Extra High. Active D-Lighting can be used manually or set to Auto mode. It is also possible to bracket your pictures to get one with Active D-Lighting and one without.
Durable, high-precision shutter
Reliability is not a luxury--it's a necessity. That's why Nikon subjected numerous D90 shutter mechanisms to grueling 100,000-cycle shutter-release tests with the unit fully assembled in the camera.

The D90 is equipped with Nikon's i-TTL flash control, renowned for consistently accurate and balanced flash exposures. The built-in flash has an 18mm lens coverage and works as a wireless commander, controlling up to two independent groups of an unlimited number of remote Speedlights and providing incredible creative lighting control--on location or in the studio.
In-camera image editing
Creative freedom stems from exclusive in-camera image editing, featuring Fisheye effect, Straighten and Distortion Control as well as D-Lighting, Red-eye Reduction, Image Overlay, Monochrome and more.
HDMI Compatible
You can enjoy both still images and movies shot with the D90 via HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) with the global-standard digital A/V signal transfer. HDMI Mini connector is employed.
GPS geo-tagging
The optional GP-1 GPS unit provides automatic real-time geo-tagging.

Nikon D90 Takes World Champion DSLR Title BeltSometimes the mere notion of being "number two" can light a motivational fire under your keister. Look at some famous folks who, despite being considered numero dos, went on to dominate their respective fields and even eclipse their predecessors: A pupil of Socrates, Plato opted not to go the hemlock-chugging route and instead helped lay down the foundations of Western philosophy. Tom Brady was destined to be a career second banana until Drew Bledsoe's internal bleeding set him on the path to three Super Bowl wins. Jean-Luc Picard played second fiddle to Kirk only to become the greatest captain in Star Trek. Ever. (Watch TNG's season 3 finale if you don't believe me.) And in the world of DSLR cameras, Nikon has been toiling to one day escape from the shadow of a certain photo-manufacturing giant whose name rhymes with "Danon." And with its newest shooter it looks like that day may have finally come.
Nikon's latest offering, the 12-megapixel D90 is a feature-packed fistful of photo fury that's sure to help pave your way to full-fledged Flickrati status. Straight from the box and out on the street the D90 shows off its picture-making prowess. Our testing unit came bundled with a (bordering on) superwide 18-105mm f3.5-5.6 lens that we used for all of our evaluations.
The 11-point focusing system with the face priority speedily locks onto subjects while the automatic Active D-Lighting (a feature that optimizes details within shadows and high contrast subjects) is a noticeable step forward in on-camera illumination. The flash images show off a pleasing balance between the strobe and the ambient light even when just shooting in the full Auto and Program modes. Nikon's also got a convergence hit with the integration of a movie mode that makes three flavors of video, the yummiest being up to five minutes of 720p HD in a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio. Owing to the size of the sensor and the higher quality optics, video clarity and depth of field are on par with the D90's stills. And when it comes to checking your work, Nikon's made it easy, loading the D90 with the same high-res 3-inch LCD found on its $5000 D3. If that's not big enough, just plug it straight into your HDTV with the built-in HDMI connection. All told this camera has scads of grin-worthy features that will continue to feed your frenzy-filled lifestyle for some time to come. That is until another camera comes along to usurp its throne.
RATING 9 out of 10
WIRED Enormous image sensor blows open the door to some of the finest 12.3-megapixel images we've produced yet. Nikon's top-of-the-line high-res 3-inch LCD is prettier than looking at a supermodel with beer goggles. In-camera dust reduction is spot on at removing spots from the sensor. One-touch info button and simple, descriptive help screens clarify deep, detailed menus. Toss out your camcorder; the 720p, 24 fps video capture on the D90 will trump its performance — especially in low lighting. Face facts: Face-detection system works quickly, accurately, and effortlessly.
TIRED Only manual focus in the video mode. Seriously, this is really the only problem we had with the D90 and even that was a stretch.

User questions & answers
Question: | body only - does it include the battery |
Answer: | Mine did, make sure this is a USA brand body to insure you receive a correct warranty, you can call the seller if need be |
Question: | Why is this camera $350 and another listing without the lens is |
Answer: | 1600 is way too high for this camera. It is now an old model but still a great camera. With a standard lens I would probably pay up to 500. Shoot this camera brand new I bought for a little over 700. Also need to get them to give you the shutter count. |
Question: | Where can i get a manual for the nikon dx afsnikkor- 18-105 d |
Answer: | http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/kie88335f7869dfuejdl=-cww2/D90_en.pdf |
Question: | Will this be great for a beginner |
Answer: | D90 is a great camera, but for a beginner I would go with a D50. Much simpler to use and it almost has same features. Also lighter. I have both and find my self using the D50 more. |

Question: | This particular (nikon p1000) offering from amazon is not "bundled" with any extra items. does it at least come with a standard lens shade/hood |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with a lens hood, battery, cable, and camera strap. The cable is used primarily to charge the battery in the camera, Not much else to really bundle it with. I did buy a couple of batteries and a charger and a collapsible rubber hood. If you go to Nikon USA website and download the P1000 info you can get a copy of the camera's manual showing everything. |
Question: | Are there threads on the lens so that a polarizing and other type filters can be used |
Answer: | Yes, but you will find that many p1000 users believe that filters mess with the autofocus on this camera, particularly when using the super zoom. I opted instead for clear protective glass in the 77mm size. |
Question: | What comes with the p1000? charger? remote? i have a p900 and can’t hardly wait for the p |
Answer: | Jennifer's answer is correct. However, the included "Charger" is just an AC-to-USB power source that you connect a Micro USB cord to and then the Micro USB cord's male connector connects to the female Micro USB port in the camera.. Nikon includes the USB cord, but since the battery remains in the camera, you can stick any Micro USB cord into the camera and it will charge. You will definitely want to get the MH-29 battery charger (or generic equivalent that charges EN-EL20a batteries) that you would actually remove the battery from the camera to insert into the MH-29 for charging. And yes, it is wise to have at least 2 fully-charged batteries at the start of a day of shooting. |
Question: | How does the 3000 mm equivalent compare to the P900's 83X, and i mean specifically. Thanks |
Answer: | It is simple math : P900 : 24-2000 35mm equivalent = 2000/24 = 83X P1000: 24-3000 35mm equivalent = 3000/24 = 125X I also like to think a lens in term of zoom compared to the human vision, that is around 50mm for a 35mm equivalent ( matching perpective, the field of view of the human is almost 180° ). In that case : P900 : 2000/50 = 40X P1000 : 3000/50 = 60X That's a 50% improvement on range :) The sensor is the same, but the P1000 close at F8, that is slower than the P900 at his max zoom. They improved the VR on the new model, so it is unknown if it is a real issue or not in practice. |

The correct answer is: Yes, when "Use built-in location data" in "Location data options" in the location data options menu is set to "On", the W300 camera starts receiving signals from positioning satellites and will embed location data in each image's EXIF metadata. This is the main purpose of having a GPS/GLONASS receiver in a camera! But note that the accuracy of the location data will depend on how many satellites the camera is receiving signals from, and if you are in a place that blocks satellite signals, location data will not be recorded. When the camera is receiving signals, an icon appears on the monitor that indicates how many satellites signals are being received from, and thus how accurate the location data will be. For the most accurate location data, you should wait to take a photo until the monitor indicates that signals are being received from three or more satellites, which in my experience takes a couple of seconds after the camera is turned on. |
Question: | My nikon w 300 is making a weird noise when i shake it , still makes the noise when i remove the battery ?what should i do |
Answer: | This problem seems to keep going on in the Nikon Coolpix cameras. I have had an AW100 that didn't have this problem, then bought an AW 120 and this is when I first heard this noise. Thinking it was something loose inside, I took it back to trade it for another one. After the salesperson and I went through 6 other AW120s, and found that they ALL had the same issue. I took one of the cameras home and contacted Nikon and they said something about this noise in the camera and they were working on fixing this issue. Well, somebody must have dropped the ball because this issue has turned up in the AW130s and now I am reading that this issue is in the NEW W300. Come on Nikon, you have a great camera just figure out this f#$**%g problem and fix it. People who spend 400 bucks on a new camera dont want one that rattles. Fix the dam problem!!!! |

User questions & answers
Question: | x zoom, how much is optical (digital is worthless) and what is the range (i.e., 25mm-500mm) optical |
Answer: | This according to Nikon: NIKKOR lens with 30x optical zoom; 4.0-120.0 mm (35mm 135 format equivalent: 22.5-675 mm); f/3.0-5.8 |
Question: | Are you getting good pictures with the camera |
Answer: | I have gotten some great pictures from it. I notice that the close ups are sometimes blurry so I have to back off until the screen clears. I would say normally good pictures. |
Question: | Would you recommend this camera for taking pictures on an African safari? Do you think it would adequately capture mountain gorillas in low-light settings? We're deciding between this camera and the SX50, so any input would be greatly appreciated |
Answer: | I had the same choice. I went Nikon and am very happy. Although I have never taken photos of gorillas in low light I have taken photos of my children who can occasionally behave as such in low light. This camera is superb. After owning 10 years worth of nothing but Cannons I finally strayed from the reservation and bought this Nikon after three months worth of contemplation. I am very happy. The 3D effect for very still shot photos might be some of the sharpest non professional photos I have ever seen. I would buy this again, or take on an African safari knowing the zoom will be a huge asset. Best of luck on whatever you decide. |
Question: | Hello, why the red version of this camera have a shipping weight of 3 pounds and the same camera in black have a shipping weight of 4 pounds?, thanks |
Answer: | Shipping weights are estimated by sellers and include packing materials. If the seller that posts the weight just guesses or uses more packaging than the others then there could be discrepancies. To address your concern, the red and black versions weigh the same. If the seller you're buying from is charging shipping by weight, contact them and ask them to make an adjustment ot buy from a seller with a flat rate shipping fee. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this have auto focus?? Ive heard it only has manual focus |
Answer: | Yes, it has auto focus as well as manual focus. There are three auto-focus settings: Pre Focus (camera focuses when it detects movement), Single AF (camera focuses only when the shutter button is pressed halfway) and Full-Time AF (camera tries to focus even when the shutter button is not pressed halfway). |
Question: | is the lens threaded |
Answer: | Yes, the lens is threaded--but not fully. There are three equally-spaced threaded portions on the inside of the 52mm lens end. Why in the world Nikon opted for this screwy (no pun intended) threading convention over a normal fully-threaded lens end is beyond me. On my B700, I have screwed a Sigma 52mm WR UV Filter into the lens end with a Goja 52-67MM Step-Up Adapter Ring screwed into the filter and then a Goja 67MM lens hood screwed into the 67mm end of the step-up ring. I've only had this setup on the camera for one day, but I worry that the B700's not-fully-threaded lens end will not handle this load. (NOTE: the Sigma 52mm UV filter is a skosh smaller in outside diameter than the B700's lens barrel, so it doesn't interfere at all with the lens fully contracting when the camera is powered off. Given that the step-up ring is threaded into the front face of the UV filter, it also doesn't interfere with the lens fully contracting, and nor does the tulip lens hood.) |
Question: | Will this camera support filters? If so, what size are would they need to be |
Answer: | Yes and they need to be 52mm.I added a UV/Haze filter and it works just fine. |
Question: | Remote shutter? Is there a remote shutter relase that is compatible with this camera |
Answer: | The COOLPIX B700 uses the Snapbridge app that enables you to connect it to a smart device that is either iOS or Android based. From there you can control the camera's shutter remotely on the device. Nikon does not have any other remote shutter option. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have this camera and the battery "meter" is always at 100% until a screen pops up "Battery Depleted." What can I do about this |
Answer: | Same problem - I ended up buying a second battery and a wall charger, so I always have a charged battery on hand and a way to charge the depleted one. Somewhat disappointing. I was excited to find a "bridge" camera that was fairly easy to understand and takes quality photographs, so I've chosen to live with the battery problem rather than try to return it. |
Question: | Can you replace the batteries with alkaline AA batteries if the rechargeable battery goes down |
Answer: | No. The standard battery is a 3.7 v Lithium ion battery pack (a flat battery) and not interchangeable with AA. My experience shows that the standard battery that comes with the camera goes a long time before needing charge. I did buy 2 extra batteries (a little higher capacity) with charger (both ac & dc) for about $20. I also bought a camera bag that holds everything. All through Amazon. |
Question: | Is it possible to manually adjust the focus |
Answer: | Yes it is possible but manual focus is not available in all modes. Also, you don't get a split zoom or anything to help with the focus mechanics. Since you're using just a 3" LCD for the viewfinder, in-focus and out of focus is not always clear. Also difficult to do a fine adjustment on the focus, there's no vernier and each time you change the focus it seems to have a certain minimum amount of adjustment. |
Question: | I'm a beginner, would this be suitable for me |
Answer: | Good for beginners and/or amateurs nothing beyond that. I must say though that you can get very good shots, almost professional quality. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how to charge battery |
Answer: | Unfortunately most of the batteries for this camera barely hold a charge. I purchased this camera for $129 last year thinking I had scored a deal. The battery lasts 2 days and is dead! Now I know why it was on sale for almost $100 less than retail. I sent the camera in 3 times for repair and Nikon keep returning saying battery is depleted. I then went online and read the horrible reviews about this camera. Nikon say they warranty accessories, but this does not include the battery. I was told to go back to Best Buy and buy another battery ($60) and see if that worked.Eventually the camera stopped working all together. I sent it back one last time before warranty expired and it came back with no explanation as to what was fixed but camera does seem to hold charge finally. My lesson learnt, there is a reason something is"On sale" and always read reviews before buying an electronic item. |
Question: | do the videos have sound |
Answer: | Yes...there is sound with all video recordings. |
Question: | does the charger work at 220 volt.....does HD 720 p play back on a PAL TV or monitor |
Answer: | Sorry, I dont know the answer to that. |
Question: | I don't find de charger for the camera, can you please tell me what is the type(s) of charger it takes |
Answer: | Your camera came with a USB cord that plugs into the bottom of your camera and the USB end plugs into your computer to charge..... |

Question: | Is this a single reflex camera |
Answer: | Hello Donald, unfortunately this is not a single lens reflex camera. This is a super zoom point and shoot camera. |
Question: | can i charge this camera through a usb cord? or do i need to buy a separate battery charger and charge the batteries outside the camera |
Answer: | You cannot charge the 4 AA batteries that is used in the camera while in the camera... BUT you can order a AC to DC power supply that you plug into the side of the camera's DC PORT to power it INSTEAD of using battery supply..saves a lot on battery usage when AC is available.. Just search for EH-67 AC Power Adapter for Nikon. |
Question: | What size flash memory card comes with the camera |
Answer: | There was not flash memory with the card. You should look for a high speed flash card to make sure the video processes affectively. That is the key issue. |
Question: | does this camera auto-focus |
Answer: | Yes, the Nikon Coolpix L830 is an auto focus camera. |
Question: | What is the mp rating on nikon coolpix l32 digital camera |
Answer: | The Nikon COOLPIX L32 is a 20MP compact point & shoot digital camera with hd video capabilities. A large 3-inch LCD and built-in effects make this camera fun and easy. |
Question: | is this camera water proof how s the pics |
Answer: | If you are concerned about getting the camera wet I'd recommend the hard cover case for protection or even the extended warranty for a nominal price that has added protection. I would recommend the added protection if giving to a young person not only for rain water but it if is accidently dropped. I dropped my L24 after 3 years and decided to get this new L32. The quality of the pictures/video images are crisp, clear, and so is the audio of the videos! The camera is easy to use for all ages. Comes with my highest recommendation. |
Question: | What kind of memory doe it take ? Mirco or full size SD |
Answer: | Hi, the Nikon Coolpix L32 uses full size SD cards, i use this one in the nikon and it works very well http://amzn.to/2egwin6 but you can use microSD too, cause the most of them cam with an SD adapter |
Question: | Can you set this camera so that pictures will automatically go to my computer? Thanks for answering |
Answer: | The download via a USB cable is quick and easy. You have to have a microchip card reader to store the images. In the owners quick guide manual it lists a Nikon NX2 website where you download the free software. The entire owners manual is online at Nikon. After you download the Nikon NX2 software you must plug in the camera with a USB connector which connects the camera to your computer and the NX2 software. If not done the computer won't show the images from the card reader. 1. Open the box. 2. Read the Quick Guide3. Download the entire owners manual online and READ.4. Pull sticker off of front of camera - Optional as can do later or earlier.5. Attach the strap.6. Put in batteries.7. Camera guides you through initial setup. This is pretty easy.8. Insert Memory Card reader chip/disc. I use 8GB.9. Start by taking a few pictures, deleting, adding, and adjusting the options to your needs. I include the date stamp on my photos.10. Go to online Nikon NX2 website and download the free software to use with the L32. a. Read the instructions and use the HELP button on top if needed. There also is a toll free number if needed. b. You can use the top tabs to set to you needs. I set NX2 to download just the new photos/videos. c. You can select the tabs on top or to the right. Use the back buttons. Just go in and experiment and remember if I can do it you sure can. 11. Now, the fun part. After taking your photos/videos connect the cable with your micro card reader. I use a Dynex from Best Buy. The first download will be in a folder called Nikon Transfer 001. On the next transfer it will be 002 and so on. What I do is move the photos/videos from 002 to 001 by dragging them into it and deleting 002. Or when downloading you choose the number of folder to download to. I find dragging and copying the ones I want easier.12. Be sure to register your camera and take good care of it. I am getting the hard case so I don't drop this one like I did with the L24.13. Be sure to have your memories backed up. I have been using Online Carbonite for years as my computers over the years have crashed and burned and Carbonite restored my files to my new computer. It is peace of mind. a. In addition I burned my photos/videos to a Sony DVD+R Disc and can share with family and friends. After doing this I delete the images on my Nikon camera that frees up more space on the chip card reader.14. Finally, I am from the old school of 35mm rolls of film and I got my first digital camera Coolpix L24 about 3 years ago. I had it for one year and discovered the video function. Goes to show I should have read the owners manual better. With the L32 the video button is on the console and easy to use. I love this camera a lot as it is improved greatly from the L24. It is faster, easier, better quality in images being sharp, crisp, and clear, and just a super camera for all ages. It fits in the palm of your hand. It feels like metal to me and I like the red color a lot. The Nikon team will HELP if needed. Also, Amazon packaged the box superbly!! It arrived in a larger box with large blown up bubble wrap and arrived right at my front door in pristine condition and ahead of schedule! Shippers at times have a tendency to handled packages roughly but when Amazon ships you have peace of mind the product will arrive in mint condition. If you have had a prior digital camera, never had one before, and/or would like to give as a gift to someone this is the one to get. I received my L24 as a gift and so glad because my 35mm camera by Kodak went the way of the dinosaur - extinct:) |

Question: | Does this camera have an optical viewfinder? (Yes, I'm a little new at this |
Answer: | Yes it does I love it |
Question: | Does this Camera come with the camera strap, the cords to upload the pictures and the batteries required? I am only asking since this is used |
Answer: | Yes, comes with the strap. The USB cables and battery are included Thank you. |
Question: | Can it take good action photos |
Answer: | It can take great action shots, I think indoor action shots are harder to capture anyway, but yes it will. It does have a sports setting (I personally don't use it) it will take 15 photos at one time, it does however take a while to save the images therefore you can't continue to click another photo. But if you use other settings then yes you can capture good action photos. |
