10 best nikon fx camera

Nikon FX cameras are a series of digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras that feature a full-frame image sensor. The term "FX" in Nikon's terminology refers to a full-frame sensor size, which is equivalent to the traditional 35mm film format. User questions & answers

Question: Will autofocus work on the D750 with my older Nikon 80-400mm lens
Answer: The first lens I have on my d750 was the older 80-400mm and it works fine. The D750 (and all FX dslrs) has both body motor and use the af-s lens motor
Question: How comfortable is this camera for a woman with small hands
Answer: I have small hands and I love it. I did have to get used to buttons being in different places from my other camera. Nikon d5100. The d750 is an awesome camera. It is lightweight too.
Question: Can you use DX lenses in DX mode with this camera? Thanks
Answer: Yes, DX lenses can be used on FX cameras, but that would be a total waste of money buying a camera like this, because your DX lenses cannot use all of the full frame sensor, which is the reason to buy Nikon cameras D610 and above to begin with. You would be much better off getting a D7100, a DX camera for over $1k less.
Question: Is the 24-120 kit lens a good choice for this camera, or is the 24-70 a much better choice for mostly landscapes? Is the 24-70 noticeably sharper
Answer: For me this is about aperture the F-24 to 70 is a 2.8 aperture lens the 24 to 120 is an F-4 if you plan on shooting in low light with out having to extend you ISO to noise range the 2.8 24 to 70 will work bast but if you have a budget and plan on using strobes or Speed lights than in may not matter. there many factor that you can come up with but it's also mainly what you perfer. Good Luck

Product description

The Nikon D610 DSLR Camera features a full-frame, FX-format 24.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and EXPEED 3 image processor to produce high-resolution still imagery and full HD 1080p video with notable image detail and low-light sensitivity to an expandable ISO 25600. The sensor and processor work together to enable high image quality with a wide dynamic range and high signal-to-noise ratio. These two technologies also combine to provide a wealth of speed throughout the D610, including a continuous shooting rate of 6 fps and a quiet shooting mode.

A Multi-CAM 4800 AF sensor is integrated into the camera's design and produces fast autofocus speeds using a 39-point array to precisely acquire focus in a wide array of lighting conditions. When recording movies or working in live view, a contrast-detection focusing method works to continuously deliver accurate focus with subject-tracking and face-detection capabilities using the full-time servo mode. Full HD 1080p video is supported up to 30 fps in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format and manual control over the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture is possible for optimized control over the look and feel of movies.

Question: What accessories come with this? Battery? Charging station/chord etc
Answer: No, unlike 35mm, 120 film does not click into place. The film must be rolled onto the take-up spool. There is a creased part of the film that slides into the slot of the take-up spool, then you can close the back, and wind the film into position for the first shot.

User questions & answers

Question: How long is the queue of backorders on Nov 21-- what is the estimated wait time and/or now shipping camera to those who ordered how long ago
Answer: Can’t see why it won’t it’s the same puck that just about every other one use
Question: when wil D850 be available
Answer: What I've noticed with GPS connection is that parking garages block the signals. The vehicle/devices need a clean connection to the satellites.
Question: Is this the US model
Answer: It looks as though it will work on any Dashcam with the 3.5 mm GPS labeled jack on it. :)
Question: Does anyone have experience with this camera and the 28-300 Nikkor lens
Answer: After I connect the Aukey dash cam with the GPS plug in, the date and time in the video was incorrect in the first day. But starting the second day, the date and time on my LCD screen as well as the video were correct. Date and time are supposed to be automatically adjusted when you have the GPS plugged in. I had sent an email to Aukey customer service when I had the issues on day one and according to Aukey customer service, date and time should automatically adjust with the GPS plugged in. My unit has accurate date and time now.

D850: Extreme Resolution Meets Extreme Speed

When Nikon introduced the D800 and D800E, it set a new benchmark for DSLR image quality and super high resolution photography that approached medium format. Now, five years later, Nikon proudly introduces the next evolution in high resolution DSLRs, a camera that allows photographers to capture fast action in 45.7 megapixels of brilliant resolution. With remarkable advancements across the board—sensor design, autofocus, dynamic range, sensitivity, Speedlight control, battery life, shutter and mirror drive mechanisms, Silent Photography in Live-View mode, focus shift capability and more—this is quite possibly the most impressive, well-rounded DSLR yet.

Nikon's First Back-side Illuminated (BSI) Full-Frame Sensor

At the heart of the D850 is a Nikon designed sensor like none before it—a back-side illuminated (BSI) FX-format full-frame CMOS image sensor with 45.7 megapixels and no optical low-pass filter. A marvel of ingenuity, it achieves extraordinary image quality, enhanced light gathering efficiency, faster data readout and truer color. And with such a dense array of pixels, there's virtually no risk of moire.

Faster, Richer, Sharper Processing

Faster than EXPEED 4, EXPEED 5 quickly processes all 45.7 megapixels of data for lower noise, wider dynamic range, subtle tonal and textural details, high-speed continuous shooting at approx. 9 fps1 and full-frame 4K UHD movie recording.

Sensitive to Every Little Detail

The lower the ISO, the greater the dynamic range. Like the D810 before it, the D850 has the lowest base ISO of any DSLR or mirrorless camera2—ISO 64 (expandable down to ISO 32).

Do Not Disturb

When silence is golden—shooting golf, press conferences, weddings and more—turn on Silent Photography in Live View and capture without sound or mechanical vibration. In Mode 1, shoot for up to 6 FPS continuous at 45.7 MP. In Mode 2, shoot approx. 8.6-megapixel pictures in DX image area at approx. 30 FPS for up to 3 seconds.

Tilt and Touch

The tilting touchscreen LCD screen makes it easy to get the shot, even from high or low angles. Use Touch AF, Touch Shutter control and navigate menus, playback and more as if you were using a smartphone. Zoom in during Live View shooting and use the new Pinpoint AF to put focus right where you want it.

Autofocus that Keeps Up

The D850 uses the same field-proven ultra-accurate AF system as the flagship D5. With 153 focus points, 99 cross-type sensors and a dedicated AF processor, the D850 delivers all of its 45.7 MP performance with NIKKOR lenses. Shoot in low light to -4 EV. Capturing the most elusive subjects will feel like second nature with the D850.

Focus in Near Darkness

Autofocus down to -4 EV lets you capture in low-light situations. Suddenly, fast NIKKOR primes and zooms can handle even lower light than before.

Locked-on Subject Tracking

Nikon's exclusive AF engine uses parallel processing with a sequence control microcomputer to realize high AF performance for fast-moving subjects even during high-speed shooting.

Keeps up with the Action

With up to 7 FPS at 45.7 MP, the D850 can capture the decisive frame of a bride walking down the aisle or a fashion model's fluid pose. For nailing the shot at a high-speed race or of A-listers on the red carpet, try using the optional MB-D18 battery pack and shoot full resolution up to 9 FPS.

A Multimedia Powerhouse

Multimedia content creators rejoice. You are now free to record 16:9 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) in full frame glory using the total width and resolution of the D850's back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor. Take advantage of the large sensor size for clean output at high ISO and for shooting with zero crop factor with any full-frame NIKKOR lenses4, including wide and ultra-wide angle lenses.

Quickly Confirm Focus

Confirm your manual focus with Focus Peaking. Select high, medium or low sensitivity and red, yellow, blue or white highlights. Operates in manual focus mode with AF or compatible manual NIKKOR lenses.

Light it Up

When combined with the optional WR-A10/R10 transceiver (requires firmware version 3.0 or later), the D850 can control and wirelessly fire radio controlled SB-5000 Speedlights from another room, around corners or outdoors in bright sunlight.

4K Time-Lapse in Camera

Create entire 4K UHD time-lapse sequences right in the camera—an exclusive to Nikon DSLRs. Use Silent Live View Mode to bypass the mechanical shutter and mirror movement, saving thousands of shutter cycles and improving the D850's already outstanding battery performance.

8K Time-Lapse Using Interval Timer

Render jaw-dropping 8K time-lapse movies by shooting sequences of up to 9,999 full-size stills, again using Silent Live View Mode. Using the D850's Interval Timer Mode allows you to capture over 8K-size images with exquisite detail for time-lapse movie6 creation. And with no shutter vibration, your sequences will be tack-sharp.

Your Images. The World. Connected.

Transfer your images to a compatible smartphone or tablet instantly using Nikon's SnapBridge app. The app maintains a constant connection with the D850 via Bluetooth Low Energy for seamless transfers, sharing your favorite shots and even controlling the D850 for remote shooting.

User questions & answers

Question: I want to get a full frame but I am just learning so therefore I am thinking of going refurb or used. My question is 12mp how much enlargements
Answer: Typical microphone stand has a male stub with 5/8-27 thread. Camera normally use 1/4-20 and tripod has an adapter that uses 3/8-16 or 1/4-20. This adapter is for using a mic stand to hold camera or accessories with an 1/4-20 mount. They sell an adapter that has 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 female to a male 5/8-27 female socket.
Question: How many shutter revolutions
Answer: I've had this problem a LOT. I used to keep the adaptor mounted to the mic stand...now I have to take it off each time and store it in a separate bag to make sure I don't lose any more. It's the only flaw in an otherwise very useful product.
Question: D700 VS D
Answer: No
Question: I recently bought a used D700 and no matter what len or setting I use there is a black ring around my images. What can I do to fix this
Answer: yes, can be used in car windshield

User questions & answers

Question: Does the battery charger work on 220 volts
Answer: Is it stuck to the camera / device or to the tripod? It sounds like it was either screwed in (or on) too tightly (yes, Captain Obvious strikes again) or the threads have been crossed. If it is stuck to the tripod, grab the sides of the cam the adapter with a rubber glove, to get better traction when you unscrew it off. It’s more complicated if it’s stuck to the camera/device. You don’t want to break the camera mount.
Question: Why isn't Amazon giving the $100 rebate off the camera that others are
Answer: 2
Question: made in Japan
Answer: As long as your webcam is set up for a 1/4"-20 thread, then yes. It's a pretty standard tripod size so if your webcam has a threaded insert, you should be good to go.
Question: What format of memory does it use
Answer: This 1/4-20 adapter to fit ALL cameras, 5/8”-27 to micro stand. Zoom has the same as camera mount thread 1/4”-20 / Yes!

Nikon

Based on 338 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Harness the power of extreme resolution, jaw-dropping image quality and huge dynamic range in both stills and Full HD 1080p video applications. A newly designed 36.3 megapixel FX-format full-frame image sensor with no optical low-pass filter is paired with the thrilling performance of EXPEED 4 for staggering detail retention, noise-free images from ISO 64 to ISO 12,800, fast frame rates, cinematic video capabilities, in-camera editing features and outstanding energy efficiency. For still and multimedia photographers, The D810 will ignite your creativity and help you capture images that astound. For cinematographers and camera operators, the D810 will become one of the most versatile tools in your arsenal. The D810 will expand your vision and make you rethink what’s possible. Sensor size is 1.41 x 0.94 in inches. For moving subjects camera focuses continuously while shutter release button is pressed halfway. If subject moves camera will engage predictive focus tracking to predict final distance to subject and adjust focus as necessary. At default settings shutter can be released whether or not subject is in focus. When the shutter release button is pressed halfway, the colors in the area surrounding the focus point are stored in the camera. Consequently 3d tracking may not produce the desired results with subjects that are similar in color to the background or that occupy a very small area of the frame.

From the Manufacturer

  • 36.3 MP FX format CMOS sensor without an Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF)
  • 30 percent faster Expeed 4 image processing engine. Shutter speed: 1/8000 to 30 sec

  • Featuring a new raw small size option, which produces 16MP images with much smaller file sizes

User questions & answers

Question: Does the camera come with its own warranty (Nikon Warranty) or do you have to buy the insurance
Answer: Nikon D810 FX camera body do I have to buy the extended insurance?
Question: Would the Nikon 24-120 f/4 lens be a good match for this camera, or would the 24-70 f/2.8 be a much better choice for the best resolution
Answer: I have both the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and the new Sigma 24-105mm F 4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens.I found the Sigma 24-105 f/4.0 to produce sharper looking images than the Nikon 24-70, both on a tripod (with image stabilization off) and handheld (with IS on). At half the cost and with the bonus of IS, it's worth trying for yourself.http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-Corporation-635306-24-105mm-Cameras/dp/B00G6K4TXC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412104555&sr=8-1&keywords=Sigma+24-105+Art+nikon
Question: Wonder is is a good choise a nikon 24-70 f2.8 with no VR reduction or a 24-120 f4 with VRII for hand held photo
Answer: I have both the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 and the new Sigma 24-105mm F 4.0 DG OS HSM Art Lens and find the Sigma to be a far better walkabout lens. Interestingly, I find the images taken with the Sigma 24-105m to be appear sharper than those produced by the Nikon 24-70, both on a tripod (with image stabilization off) and handheld (with IS on). At half the cost and with the bonus of IS, it's worth trying the Sigma for yourself if you can live with f4 versus the f2.8 of the Nikon 24-70.Sigma Corporation 635306 24-105mm F 4.0 DG OS HSM Zoom Lens for Nikon Cameras
Question: Why is this camera so expensive
Answer: magnesium alloy, stringently tested weather and dust sealing, a shutter that's been tested to 200,000 cycles, longer battery life, and advanced in-camera editing like NEF (RAW) processing, distortion control, image overlay, 30% faster than its predecessor, 25% faster frame rates (5 fps), a wider ISO range of 64-12,800 with low noise throughout, smooth gradations, a wide dynamic range, optimizations for 1080 60p video, greater energy efficiency, a deeper grip ensures stable handling, even for small hands. A brighter viewfinder offers ~100% frame coverage, 0.7x magnification and high contrast organic EL information display for easier visibility. The scratch- and shock-resistant TFT LCD display has wide viewing angles and enhanced visibility in sunlight. Its color can be calibrated to match an external monitor, and a new split-screen feature lets you monitor two different points of a scene side-by-side to ensure proper leveling or focus, smooth and even time-lapse sequences, a new 12-bit uncompressed RAW size S* format that's half the size of RAW size L. (This is all from the Nikon website.) If you understand what these things mean, then you probably wouldn't need to ask and can go with a less-expensive, less capable camera. If you want to go professional, this is a camera to consider.
