User questions & answers
Question: | Will autofocus work on the D750 with my older Nikon 80-400mm lens |
Answer: | The first lens I have on my d750 was the older 80-400mm and it works fine. The D750 (and all FX dslrs) has both body motor and use the af-s lens motor |
Question: | How comfortable is this camera for a woman with small hands |
Answer: | I have small hands and I love it. I did have to get used to buttons being in different places from my other camera. Nikon d5100. The d750 is an awesome camera. It is lightweight too. |
Question: | Can you use DX lenses in DX mode with this camera? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes, DX lenses can be used on FX cameras, but that would be a total waste of money buying a camera like this, because your DX lenses cannot use all of the full frame sensor, which is the reason to buy Nikon cameras D610 and above to begin with. You would be much better off getting a D7100, a DX camera for over $1k less. |
Question: | Is the 24-120 kit lens a good choice for this camera, or is the 24-70 a much better choice for mostly landscapes? Is the 24-70 noticeably sharper |
Answer: | For me this is about aperture the F-24 to 70 is a 2.8 aperture lens the 24 to 120 is an F-4 if you plan on shooting in low light with out having to extend you ISO to noise range the 2.8 24 to 70 will work bast but if you have a budget and plan on using strobes or Speed lights than in may not matter. there many factor that you can come up with but it's also mainly what you perfer. Good Luck |

Question: | How long is the queue of backorders on Nov 21-- what is the estimated wait time and/or now shipping camera to those who ordered how long ago |
Answer: | Can’t see why it won’t it’s the same puck that just about every other one use |
Question: | when wil D850 be available |
Answer: | What I've noticed with GPS connection is that parking garages block the signals. The vehicle/devices need a clean connection to the satellites. |
Question: | Is this the US model |
Answer: | It looks as though it will work on any Dashcam with the 3.5 mm GPS labeled jack on it. :) |
Question: | Does anyone have experience with this camera and the 28-300 Nikkor lens |
Answer: | After I connect the Aukey dash cam with the GPS plug in, the date and time in the video was incorrect in the first day. But starting the second day, the date and time on my LCD screen as well as the video were correct. Date and time are supposed to be automatically adjusted when you have the GPS plugged in. I had sent an email to Aukey customer service when I had the issues on day one and according to Aukey customer service, date and time should automatically adjust with the GPS plugged in. My unit has accurate date and time now. |

D850: Extreme Resolution Meets Extreme Speed
When Nikon introduced the D800 and D800E, it set a new benchmark for DSLR image quality and super high resolution photography that approached medium format. Now, five years later, Nikon proudly introduces the next evolution in high resolution DSLRs, a camera that allows photographers to capture fast action in 45.7 megapixels of brilliant resolution. With remarkable advancements across the board—sensor design, autofocus, dynamic range, sensitivity, Speedlight control, battery life, shutter and mirror drive mechanisms, Silent Photography in Live-View mode, focus shift capability and more—this is quite possibly the most impressive, well-rounded DSLR yet.
Nikon's First Back-side Illuminated (BSI) Full-Frame Sensor
At the heart of the D850 is a Nikon designed sensor like none before it—a back-side illuminated (BSI) FX-format full-frame CMOS image sensor with 45.7 megapixels and no optical low-pass filter. A marvel of ingenuity, it achieves extraordinary image quality, enhanced light gathering efficiency, faster data readout and truer color. And with such a dense array of pixels, there's virtually no risk of moire.
Faster, Richer, Sharper Processing
Faster than EXPEED 4, EXPEED 5 quickly processes all 45.7 megapixels of data for lower noise, wider dynamic range, subtle tonal and textural details, high-speed continuous shooting at approx. 9 fps1 and full-frame 4K UHD movie recording.
Sensitive to Every Little Detail
The lower the ISO, the greater the dynamic range. Like the D810 before it, the D850 has the lowest base ISO of any DSLR or mirrorless camera2—ISO 64 (expandable down to ISO 32).
Do Not Disturb
When silence is golden—shooting golf, press conferences, weddings and more—turn on Silent Photography in Live View and capture without sound or mechanical vibration. In Mode 1, shoot for up to 6 FPS continuous at 45.7 MP. In Mode 2, shoot approx. 8.6-megapixel pictures in DX image area at approx. 30 FPS for up to 3 seconds.
Tilt and Touch
The tilting touchscreen LCD screen makes it easy to get the shot, even from high or low angles. Use Touch AF, Touch Shutter control and navigate menus, playback and more as if you were using a smartphone. Zoom in during Live View shooting and use the new Pinpoint AF to put focus right where you want it.
Autofocus that Keeps Up
The D850 uses the same field-proven ultra-accurate AF system as the flagship D5. With 153 focus points, 99 cross-type sensors and a dedicated AF processor, the D850 delivers all of its 45.7 MP performance with NIKKOR lenses. Shoot in low light to -4 EV. Capturing the most elusive subjects will feel like second nature with the D850.
Focus in Near Darkness
Autofocus down to -4 EV lets you capture in low-light situations. Suddenly, fast NIKKOR primes and zooms can handle even lower light than before.
Locked-on Subject Tracking
Nikon's exclusive AF engine uses parallel processing with a sequence control microcomputer to realize high AF performance for fast-moving subjects even during high-speed shooting.
Keeps up with the Action
With up to 7 FPS at 45.7 MP, the D850 can capture the decisive frame of a bride walking down the aisle or a fashion model's fluid pose. For nailing the shot at a high-speed race or of A-listers on the red carpet, try using the optional MB-D18 battery pack and shoot full resolution up to 9 FPS.
A Multimedia Powerhouse
Multimedia content creators rejoice. You are now free to record 16:9 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) in full frame glory using the total width and resolution of the D850's back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor. Take advantage of the large sensor size for clean output at high ISO and for shooting with zero crop factor with any full-frame NIKKOR lenses4, including wide and ultra-wide angle lenses.
Quickly Confirm Focus
Confirm your manual focus with Focus Peaking. Select high, medium or low sensitivity and red, yellow, blue or white highlights. Operates in manual focus mode with AF or compatible manual NIKKOR lenses.
Light it Up
When combined with the optional WR-A10/R10 transceiver (requires firmware version 3.0 or later), the D850 can control and wirelessly fire radio controlled SB-5000 Speedlights from another room, around corners or outdoors in bright sunlight.
4K Time-Lapse in Camera
Create entire 4K UHD time-lapse sequences right in the camera—an exclusive to Nikon DSLRs. Use Silent Live View Mode to bypass the mechanical shutter and mirror movement, saving thousands of shutter cycles and improving the D850's already outstanding battery performance.
8K Time-Lapse Using Interval Timer
Render jaw-dropping 8K time-lapse movies by shooting sequences of up to 9,999 full-size stills, again using Silent Live View Mode. Using the D850's Interval Timer Mode allows you to capture over 8K-size images with exquisite detail for time-lapse movie6 creation. And with no shutter vibration, your sequences will be tack-sharp.
Your Images. The World. Connected.
Transfer your images to a compatible smartphone or tablet instantly using Nikon's SnapBridge app. The app maintains a constant connection with the D850 via Bluetooth Low Energy for seamless transfers, sharing your favorite shots and even controlling the D850 for remote shooting.

User questions & answers
Question: | Which brand of remote flash trigger kit work whit this camera and an external flash |
Answer: | Yes, all lenses compatible with the a6300 should be compatible with the a6400. |
Question: | is there a sony capture and raw image processing software, like Nikon has |
Answer: | hello, we do not make any weather resistant lenses. |
Question: | Does this have 4k 30 minute limit like previous camera |
Answer: | Correct, it does not have in-body Image Stabilization . That is main thing that the a6500 has that the a6400 does not. However if you use a lens with OSS (Optical Steady Shot), then the lack of in body stabilization should be mostly negated. Both of the kit lens options have OSS, as do many other nicer lenses. You can check out this video to see the difference between having in-body stabilization vs not: https://youtu.be/WASJHtC6ADo |
Question: | will this camera use Canon lenses and still have excellent auto focus |
Answer: | Hello, no in 4k the highest frame rate available is 30fps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this include Nikon USA 1 year warranty |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Hello, why shipping weight is 7 pounds? while the product weight is 1.7 pounds |
Answer: | The weight is greater because of the manuals and accessories included. There are two 300+ page manuals (one in English, one Spanish) which alone weigh 1.5 lbs. Add in the weight of the battery charger, battery, neck strap, USB and audio cables, software, body cap, etc and the weight quickly adds up. I ordered the body only D7000. The UPS label shows 6 pounds. When I put the D7000 package (without the shipping box and packing) on the scale, it was a little over 5 lbs. I'm sure the ones that come with a lens would have a 7 pound shipping weight. |
Question: | Hi, Anyone who have recently (Dec 14, Jan15) purchased D7000 body only from Amazon please let me know |
Answer: | I bought the D7000 in Nov 2014 and yes, it did come in the gold Nikon box and it did have the warranty card with it. It came from Nikon. Was not a gray market camera, but the real one. I love this camera body a lot and am glad I did upgrade from the D90! |
Question: | Can any one tel me what's the diffrenc between Canon mark5III and nikon7000 and which's better |
Answer: | The Canon 5D Mark III is a full frame sensor vs the crop sensor in the Nikon D7000. Also about $2300 between the two bodies. Really depends on your budget and what you want to do. If you are asking this question you most likely don't need to spend the money on the 5D. |
Product features
Inspired performance in a size that keeps you shooting.
Amazing photography isn’t only about what you shoot and how you shoot it, it’s also about what you shoot it with. The high resolution, multi-featured Nikon D7000 gives you 16.2 megapixels of vividly detailed images, a more sensitive DX-format CMOS sensor that delivers high ISO with low noise, plus various automatic and customizable settings to take your pictures and videos from great to gorgeous. Shoot up to 6 fps or record every second of the action with full HD 1080p D-Movies with Nikon’s advanced autofocus system to impress and inspire.
Stunning image details
Whether you want to make large prints or crop tightly in an image, the D7000 delivers the resolution you need. At its heart is a DX-format CMOS image sensor with 16.2 effective megapixels, optimally engineered to gather more quality light through sharp NIKKOR lenses. Coupled with 14-bit A/D conversion (12-bit selectable), the D7000 produces stunning images that are richer in tone and detail than previously possible in DX format.
A new era of movie capture
The D7000 is equipped to help you create impressive cinematic masterpieces with Full HD 1080p and movie editing functions for exceptional scene reproduction and quality. In addition to smooth video, the camera can compensate for distortion and other image-degrading problems. Aside from a built-in monaural microphone, the D7000 incorporates an external mic jack for high-quality stereo sound recording options.
Remarkably responsive
Say farewell to missed opportunities. The D7000 incorporates a new driving mechanism to conduct its remarkably fast and precise mirror movements, giving you an approx. 0.052 second release time lag and an approx. 0.13 second start-up time. What’s more, you can continuously shoot at approx. 6 frames per second at both 14-bit and 12-bit A/D conversion for RAW shooting.
Crisp photos in any light
ISO 100 to 6400 has now become standard with the D7000, enabling you to handle a wider range of lighting situations: from the bright and sunny outdoors to low-lit evenings and interiors. Nikon’s renowned noise reduction technology has been upgraded even further. Throughout the range, the D7000 delivers sharp images with minimized color noise. Quality, high-ISO performance can also enhance your movie shooting, allowing you to capture the mood of a scene using only available light.
More accurate control
After the incredibly accurate 2,016-pixel RGB sensor reads a scene's lighting information, the D7000 cross-references what it sees with imaging data from a large selection of real-world shooting situations. This way, the renowned 3D Color Matrix Metering II delivers exposure results that are faithful to how you see light and shadow interplay, even in difficult lighting situations. This intelligent metering technique also delivers exceptionally accurate i-TTL flash exposures, and it all happens within milliseconds for both speed and precision.
Powerful, wide-area coverage
The D7000's strategically positioned 39 AF points cover a significantly wide area of the frame, giving you flexible compositional possibilities. The 9 AF points in the center utilize powerful cross-type sensors—especially useful when you need tack sharp focus, such as with portraits and macro work. The D7000 offers a variety of AF area modes, including Dynamic-area AF using 9, 21 or 39 points. Utilizing Nikon's Scene Recognition System, Auto-area AF properly judges the main subject within 39 AF points and focuses on it.
Improved image quality and speed
The newest generation image processing engine, EXPEED 2, is capable of performing multiple tasks with more speed and power. Expect smoother tonal gradations, even in difficult shadows and highlights, for a greater sense of depth in your images.
100% frame coverage
With approximately 100% frame coverage in the viewfinder, what you see is exactly what you capture. The specially coated glass pentagonal prism and precision-crafted finder screen offer not only a bright viewfinder image, but also enable you to easily confirm when a subject is in focus.
Rugged and protected
With a top and rear cover of durable magnesium alloy, the D7000 is ready for the outdoors. Nikon engineers paid meticulous attention to where exterior parts join by employing durable sealing against moisture and dust. The compact body has also undergone severe environmental tests to prove its rugged reliability.
Rich image previewing
The D7000 features an expansive 3-inch VGA LCD. Its approx. 921k-dot resolution assures clear, detailed display of images, which proves invaluable when confirming focus or assessing image sharpness.
