User questions & answers
Question: | I will have to obtain a replacement for my beloved 50D. I am guessing that the batteries will not work with the 90D, but what about the lenses |
Answer: | Battery - 50D does not use the same battery. It uses the BP-511A, and the 90D uses the LP-E6N. Several models do use the LP-E6N, but I think in the APS-C line it's the 70D and up. For lenses - All EF and EF-S lenses will work on the 90D, same as the 50D. Anything that worked on the 50D will also work on the 90D. Some of the older lenses, mostly cheaper zooms, don't really look very good on the 32mp sensor, due to the high pixel density. If you would like more information about the 90D, you should check out the review on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and has comparisons to several other cameras for reference. There are also sample images taken with the camera. Here is a link to the review. Be sure to check the comment section for an update to the review that Amazon will not allow me to post, for some unknown reason. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1K36NNGFV9ZCU/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07WFQYDD5 |
Question: | What type of tether cable can I use on the 90D the usb with not fit my older cable |
Answer: | It uses micro USB. Any micro USB cable is fine, it doesn't have to be a Canon cable. You phone may have come with one, depending on how old it is. One caveat, not all of these cables are made for data transfer. Sometimes cables that are included with electronic devices that are meant to be used to charge with, they do not have the connectors to use for data transfer. Be sure that it is a data transfer cable. If nothing else, they are fairly inexpensive cables, you could just buy one. Simply type "Micro USB cable" into the search and it will come up. The amazon basics will work fine. If you would like more info about the 90D, you should check out the review I have for the camera on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and also has sample images taken with the camera. There are also comparisons to other cameras that you might have considered. Here is a link to the review. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1K36NNGFV9ZCU?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp |
Question: | How do l find out where this is shipped from |
Answer: | You can find the info about the seller under the "Add to Cart" and "Buy Now" buttons. If it is Amazon, then it will be from the nearest Amazon warehouse. If from an independent seller, then you would need to seek them out and ask them. If you would like to have more info about the 90D, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and also has suggestions/comparisons to other cameras. There are also sample images taken with the 90D. Question: | Is this a full-size sensor or cropped |
Answer: | Crop sensor, 1.6x crop. If you would like more information about the 90D, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the camera, and also has comparisons to other similar Canon models like the M6mkII, T7i/77D, 80D, and the 7DmkII. Canon’s CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range, and offers the most pixels in its class. It offers many of the same new technologies to maximize each pixel’s light gathering efficiency that were first seen with the professional EOS-1D Mark III model. DIGIC 4 Image Processor Excellence from Dawn to Dusk. ISO 100 – 6400 for shooting from bright to dim light. With a broad range of ISO settings, the EOS Rebel T3 enables shooting from sunrise to sunset and helps ensure capture of the finest detail. With enhanced high-sensitivity optimization, subjects can be captured clearly and easily at high shutter speeds without flash, with minimized blur and noise. In bright scenes, especially long exposures in daylight, optimal exposure can be achieved with a fully open wide-diameter lens, no dark filter needed. High Definition Made Easy. Question: | Do you recommend purchasing a an additional 3 or 4 year warranty |
Answer: | Derwent Chromaflow is a wax-based pencil that has rich, vibrant colour and a smooth, creamy laydown. |
Question: | Would I be able to film full HD music videos with this |
Answer: | Derwent Chromaflow provides artists with an affordable professional quality product which is easy to layer and blend thanks to the richly pigmented smooth texture, providing a velvety laydown. The strength of core results in less breakage when sharpening and in use, as it can handle pressure well, making the pencil reliable for consistent quality for every project, every time. Here is how Chromaflow compares to Procolour, Coloursoft and Lightfast. Procolour: Chromaflow is softer than Procolour and will layer and blend differently. Procolour is more suited to detailed work, has greater point strength, wider core and large colour range. Coloursoft: Both are soft and smooth however Coloursoft has a softer texture and lay down is different. Coloursoft is a larger diameter pencil and therefore builds up colour more quickly. Coloursoft is a great colouring pencil and has a much larger range of colours. Chromaflow mixes well to integrate colours. Lightfast: Lightfast has a larger and stronger pencil core. They are 100% lightfast with a soft and creamy texture. Lightfast is our only oil-based pencil which can achieve paint like affects and has 100 colours in the range. |
Question: | Does it take pictures and video at the same time |
Answer: | Hi Thank you for your question. This listing is for Koh-I-Noor pencils, made by Koh-I-Noor and they are not relabelled to Tombow mono.Kind regardsTegan |

Question: | Canon 7D (discontinued) or 70D? For portrait/landscape and a little video! 7D is classified as a 'pro' but the 70D is newer, can't decide! Help |
Answer: | Hello, this is a manual only flash similar to the Neewer TT560 but has a built in radio transmitter. I have 4 version III and one version II and having thebuilt in wireless is great feature worth the extra money in my opinion. I use a YN603 transmitter on my 5Dmk3 and it works great at 1/160 sec exposure. There are rumors of a new version YN603 that will allow you to change power setting with the YN560 III. If this is true the YN560 III and new YN603 will be a powerful combination. |
Question: | hi the camera has the charger and the battery |
Answer: | will this flash work with my nikon D5100? i'm new to photography and wanted to know if i could use this flash on my camera alone without any trigers etc? |
Question: | Does this camera have an image stablizer |
Answer: | It only matters if you shoot with more than 1 flash. But 'all things being equal', the III is like $5 cheaper, so if you buy 4 you save $20.Things not equal: The YN560 has a 'master mode', basically YN560-TX radio transmitter unit built into the flash. So you can mount the IV on your camera and have it control remote III and IV units. The III model only works as a slave. If you're shooting multiple flashes, you need something (a 'Master') to trigger them. Do you want to buy the $44 TX unit that provides no light, or this $70 IV unit that can provide light? Personally, I would recommend at least one IV unit, any additional units as III units, and consider the TX unit as well (free up the IV to be used off-camera). |
Question: | d or t4i |
Answer: | It will work work with any camera that has a lens filter thread in any of these sizes: 49mm, 52mm,55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, or 77mm. If the lens on your X-T3 has one of those thread sizes then yes, it will. |

Question: | Will this lens be good for soccer and football when on the sidelines |
Answer: | This is a subjective question. For the most part, it's not a sports lens. The AF system is not really built to be snappy fast for sports. However, if you are photographing young children, I think it can work, since they are not likely to be as fast as high school aged kids. Also, the limits of the aperture make it hard to use fast shutter speeds without a high ISO, so you will get some noise in the images. If this doesn't bother you then it's not a big deal. If in good light (daylight), then it will be fine so long as you know how to track your subject. For football at night, it's going to be tough. I would look for the bright spots on the field, like where the lights shine the brightest, and try to get photos in those places. Here is how I would set the camera. 1. Tv mode. This lets you control the shutter. Set to 1/500 sec. 2. ISO and aperture are controlled by camera. Make sure ISO is in auto. 3. Set focus to "servo" mode. This makes it so the camera tracks as you hold in the focus. 4. Select a small focus. Depending on your camera, you might have to use just one point. Some will let you choose a small grid. 5. Get focus on your subject and hold the focus to track them as they move around. This will give the STM motor time to find the focus. Shoot when you have the best shot. This is how I shot youth soccer with a SL2/200D and the 55-250mm IS STM. Got plenty of good shots. I'd post them in my review but it is now against Amazon policy to do so. Not sure what happened there, they are just youth league kids playing soccer. If you would like more info about the 55-250mm STM lens, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the lens, and also has suggestions for other lenses that might work for you as well. There are also sample images taken with the lens. Question: | Would this newer STM lens work well with my EOS T2i I am using the older EF-S 55-250 now that's about 5 years old and looking for faster focus and sharper images....wondering if maybe the 55-250 IS 2 would work just as well as the STM for me...Thanks |
Answer: | Great question. Some answers for you... It is a better lens than the older IS II model in the following ways: Better optics for better IQ and contrast. Rear focusing so the front element doesn't rotate. Better IS. STM is better than the DC micro motor; it's faster, more accurate, and nearly silent. The focus isn't as fast as say, USM lenses, but you will notice an improvement. If speed of focus is more important in your case, then you should look into the EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS II USM instead. Optically, they have very similar IQ, but the 70-300mm has much snappier focus for stills, and is still silent for video like the STM lens. As to how much a difference you will see on your camera? The T2i is a pretty old camera, and IQ wise think you won't see much of a difference. Either of the suggested lenses will look good on your camera, but you might not see a large difference in overall IQ due to the age of the sensor. I think the advantages are that you will see better contrast, have better focus (which leads to more in focus shots), and if you ever move to a newer camera then you will see a difference in IQ with a newer sensor. If you would like more info about either of the lenses I have suggested, you should check out the reviews I have on my profile. Both reviews cover the pros and cons, offer advice for how to use the lens, and has suggestions/comparisons to other lenses you might have considered. There are also sample images. Question: | Hi |
Answer: | The short answer is yes to both questions. The little bit longer answer... 1. It has image stabilization, and for Canon you can tell what lenses do as they will list "IS" in the description of the lens. On this lens, you have 3.5 stops of IS, which is really great since it has such a long reach. Keep in mind though that IS does nothing to help with a moving subject, only a fast shutter speed can help with that. 2. Your camera can use this lens, as well as all other EF and EF-S lenses. This is one of the 4 lenses I suggest to anyone that is learning photography and wants to expand their kit beyond the lens that came with their camera. If you would like more information about the 55-250mm lens, you should check out the review I have on my profile. It covers the pros and cons, offers advice for how to use the lens, and has suggestions/comparisons to other lenses you may have seen. There are also sample images taken with the lens. User questions & answers
Question: | Is this model & lens weather resistant |
Answer: | Do like I did and read Ken Rockwell's review. It will not autofocus with traditional 1980s screw-type AF and AF-D lenses. It will meter and exposure perfectly with all AF lenses of any age. It won't meter or auto-expose with old manual focus lenses unless they are the special AI-P versions. Use with today's lenses (AF-S and/or G) Like the D5500, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D40 and D40x, everything works flawlessly with all modern AF-I and AF-S lenses. Nikon is not expecting people who buy the D5600 to use it with ancient lenses, and therefore saves everyone the expense and weight of including the parts needed in more expensive cameras to ensure compatibility with the old lenses listed below. Modern AF-S and DX lenses are the best lenses for the D5600. Older lenses aren't as good optically or ergonomically, don't waste your time with them on today's cameras. |
