So, a 3-9x40mm is a scope with a variable zoom magnification from 3x to 9x with a 40 millimeter objective lens.

Answer:	The scope will work just fine although the front objective is focused at over 50’. You may need to purchase different scope rings however.

Answer:	You could, but this isn't really a high quality scope for a large caliber rifle. A 22 mag would be the largest rifle I would put it on. Not sure if it can take the recoil from a 3030.
