Answer:	I always thought it was Germany. The "Leitz" brand is made by Leica, but in Brazil. I don't know if Leitz is still manufactured. In any event, you can't go wrong with the Leica 10x25. I carry mine in a large shirt pocket. The field of view is a little small, but that's what you trade off for a bino that is small and easy to carry. I purchased my bino, keeping in mind that I wanted a good product that would last me for the rest of my life. I have not been disappointed.

Answer:	Waterproof is a tricky word. Certainly water resistant is probably the best way to think of this pair. Outstanding optics...consider a waterproof case as smart protection.
Question:	are lens protectors, both front and rear, available for the leica 10X25 BCA
Answer:	Not that I know of. I have owned my pair for more than thirty years and have never found a need for lens protectors. These fit in a shirt pocket perfectly, while hiking or hunting I leave the lanyard around my neck and pull the binoculars out as needed. They have better optics than my 10X42 Swarozskis and thus get to travel a great deal more.
