Answer:	First off I am going to say I dont know. The way I matched mine was I matched all the charging info on the back of each charger, 2nd I'm made sure that the cords were the same. I got lucky and it works great for my scooter. But by all means you should always OME chargers when you can. What I am saying is try it at your own risk. If these are plugged in wrong there is a chance of the batteries exploding.

Answer:	I haven't installed it yet but it would cause the GoPro not to be waterproof since the usb will be exposed. I bought it so that I could use the usb for an extra battery to keep the GoPro running during long periods of time since it would keep charging the battery. Otherwise you have the whole side of the battery compartment open! This keeps the battery compartment closed and only exposes the usb port. This should work well for my application.
