Your ''One'' lens solution
The M. Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6 II (35mm equivalent 28-300mm) is a new and enhanced version of this wide-angle to telephoto lens. It is now weatherproof for worry-free outdoor shooting, and has also been upgraded with an advanced lens coating for better performance in less-than-ideal lighting situations. As with all M.Zuiko Digital lenses, it is designed to maximize the performance advantages of the Micro Four Thirds System, and its light weight and compact size – 65 percent smaller and 70 percent lighter than the comparable 10x ZUIKO Digital ED 18-180mm f3.5-6.3 – enable it to fit easily in a jacket pocket.
Premium optics and durability
In addition to ED (extra-low dispersion) glass for superior image quality, the new 14-150mm II features Olympus’s advanced ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) lens coating, which helps prevent ghosting and reduce flare to ensure superior image quality even under unfavorable conditions such as backlight shooting. Combine superior optics with quiet, responsive AF performance and dust- and splashproof construction and you have an all-in-one lens that is ideal for everything from portraits and indoor scenes to sports and landscape photography.
MFT standard compatible
The 14-150mm II lens is compatible with all Micro Four Thirds System Olympus OM-D and Pen cameras, and all other current and future cameras that comply with the Micro Four Thirds System standard. When mounted on an Olympus OM-D or Pen camera, the lens is stabilized by the camera''s in-body Image Stabilization system, which effectively compensates for camera movement at all focal lengths.
Silent focusing
The lens’s ''MSC'' or movie and still compatible inner focusing mechanism uses a light, compact, single-element unit for exceptionally fast, quiet autofocus and smooth operation whether shooting stills or high-definition (HD) video. The manual focus mechanism is designed to offer a responsive feel and precise operation.
Lens''s ''designed for digital ''
The Micro Four Thirds System camera standard meets the telecentric requirements of dedicated digital design. Light rays transmitted through the lens strike the imaging sensor at a nearly perpendicular angle to the sensor for optimum edge-to-edge image reproduction. Micro Four Thirds cameras feature a much more compact design than those of other interchangeable lens systems. As a result, M. Zuiko Digital Micro Four Thirds System lenses offer uncompromising professional quality in an exceptionally compact package.

Replacement battery for cameras using the Olympus Li-90 or LI-92 battery
- Approx. 3 hours for full charge
- 4.9 WH
- 1350 mAh
User questions & answers
Question: | Does the li-90b battery work in the olympus tg-4 camera |
Answer: | According to Olympus (website) the difference between the 90B & 92B batteries is "The LI-92B is the current version of the battery and will work in all cameras that use the LI-90B battery. The LI‑92B lithium‑ion battery is the successor model to the LI‑90B with an increased capacity of approx. 5% to 1350mAh. The battery can be recharged with the optional battery charger UC‑90"The UC-90 charger is also the charger to be used with the 90B.Thus, one expects the 90B to work just fine, but to have slightly less duration than the 92B.Based on this I have just ordered a third-party 90B and charger for the T4 I just bought. |
Question: | How many cells does the battery have |
Answer: | 1350 mAh |
Question: | Do you charge this extra battery in the camera? for TG |
Answer: | I haven't ever recharged it in the camera and didn't know that you could. Instead, I use the wall charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008P08HTS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 |
Question: | What is the expected battery life for the Olympus Li-92B battery |
Answer: | It's hard to say... I have been using my Olympus camera professionally (as a field consultant) for 2 years now. Some days I use 2 or more batteries (300+ photos). The camera seems to become outdated before the battery stops working! I recommend you stick with the Olympus-branded battery... |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the lens (mm) for UV filter |
Answer: | I use 40.5mm Hoya filters on my TG-6 and TG-5. |
Question: | I bought a fuji xp, highly rated as well, but was disappointed with the overall quality, underwater looked flat. should i expect better from this |
Answer: | The Olympus TG-6 will produce very good UW images if used it correctly. Ideally the underwater mode is selected and the correct white balance depth is chosen. UW photography helps tremendously from having clear water and strong frontlit sunlight with no clouds . You also usually need to get pretty close to your subject. Without those you may need strobes or to use a flash. If want to learn more about TG UW photography google "tg-5 backscatter tutorial". In some cases after all that, the images yes will be a bit flat and you will need to do some post-processing. TG-6 images are good quality and tend to respond well to PP, especially if you use a raw file and a raw editor like light room. You can also use a free editor like Gimp...which can easily take care of flat image. Gimp > Color > Brightness-Contrast > Contrast (crank it right and the flatness should magically go away). Gimp can also do a good job with white balance correct (although LR is likely better at both tasks). |
Question: | Does this camera come with a lens cover |
Answer: | No. In spite of this, I have never smudged the lens. It is recessed enough that even when doing VERY close-up macro shot, the lens stays clean. If you are going to chuck the camera into a (filthy) jacket pocket, then something like the Olympus Lens Barrier LB-T01 would be for you. I have used the Olympus CLA-T01 Conversion Lens Adapter which comes with the traditional clamp-on lens cover. It usually stays in-place. For real dirty and dusty locations, I use a screw-on UV filter to keep the optics from getting scratched by wind-driven grit. I hope this helps. |
Question: | What is the difference between the tg5 and the tg6? the specs are virtually identical |
Answer: | There are some noteworthy improvements. Chromatic aberration is reduced, the purple orb issue has been reduced, you can now shoot microscope videos and you can use aperture mode with microscope mode. The TG-6 images are also a bit darker and less likely to be over-exposed. I think there is an improvement in image quality. The TG-6 is also a bit more rugged (thicker lcd, better for reduction, etc). The biggest improvement is in the lcd screen. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this product charge 40B batteries for digital camerias |
Answer: | I used it to charge LI-92B. Don't know if it can charge 40B. |
Question: | What is the difference between the uc-90 and the uc-92 chargers |
Answer: | UC-92 is for the new LI-92B battery, successor model to the LI-90B. Chargers will work for both. |
Question: | what are the measurments of the charger |
Answer: | 2" x 7/8" x 3.5" |
Question: | Does it include an AC connection for recharging? "*Charges the LI-90 B battery for XZ-2 camera either via USB or AC connection". The webpage implies it does, but the buyer comments say otherwise |
Answer: | It does not include ac connection. It connects to the ac charger that came with my Olympus SP-100 camera. You plug this item's usb cable to charger, then charger into wall. Olympus really screwed the customer with this set up, camera charger cable is way too short and even when connected to this external charger, it's too short to reach a table or the floor. Unless u set up some type of platform the same height as the wall outlet, it just dangles from wall. |

Answer: | Absolutely, is compatible with all the Olympus OMD line (EM-5, EM-1 and EM-10) as well as all the Pen camera bodies and also the Panasonic line. |
Question: | can you tell me if this lens is the same as a m.zuiko 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 EDR (your model finishes with R only |
Answer: | You might try asking Olympus directly. I had the following exchange with Olympus a couple months ago -- not sure if this comparison is the same as the one you want:"Thank you for contacting Olympus Technical Support. The "R" or revised version of the lens is the newest one, the difference ismainly cosmetic, as the look of the barrel has been changed to better matchthe look of the newer PEN and OM-D Cameras. Other than that, the opticalquality and formula of the lens is the same as the older version.Best Regards,Olympus Technical SupportOlympus Imaging America Inc.Toll Free Technical Support Hotline 1-888-553-4448 06/04/2013 05:37 SubjectCategory: Digital CamerasModel: M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150 mm f4.0-5.6 RQuestion: What is the difference between this lens (with R) and the samelens without R? Is the one with "R" new and improved? Why would one buyone and not the other? Your special starting June 9 is for the onewithhout the "R" only? Question: | Do you prefer a kit lens+40-150 zoom or a 14-150 all in one zoom? ($300 v.s. $500) How about the image quality |
Answer: | The way you ask the question makes it a little difficult to answer. Which kit lens are you thinking of? If you're thinking of the older 12-50 f3.5-6.3, and you're asking if THAT lens + the 14-150 makes a better kit than the 14-150 super zoom, well, that's hard to say. It's a close call. I would personally still have gone with the two-lens combination, partly because I dislike super zooms. Optically, they may be okay to good, but they're never very good or great, and they're never fast, either. And it has always seemed to me that a large part of the point of buying an interchangeable lens camera is to be able to buy really good, specialized lenses and then change them as necessary. Buying an ILC and sticking a super zoom on it, to me, makes no sense. You'd be better off buying a top-of-the line compact camera with a large zoom range. But I said this was a close call, because the 14-150 looks like a good super zoom, as super zooms go: My guess is it's as good as the 12-50 or the 40-150 optically and only slightly slower at the wide end.On the other hand if you're thinking about the newer 12-40 f2.8 "kit lens", then the answer is much easier: I'd prefer to have the 12-40 f2.8 *even if that was the only lens I could get.* That plus the 40-150 would be a very nice combination. Good luck with your choice. |
Question: | will this lens also take close-up pictures |
Answer: | The M.Zuiko 40~150mm cannot take macro shots, closes focus distance is 0.9m / 2.96ft. If you are interested in macro, Olympus has 2 lenses, a) M.Zuiko ED 60mm f2.8 Macro (max 1:1) and b) M.Zuiko ED 12~50mm (max 1:0.7) 8"~20". Hope this clarifies. User questions & answers
Question: | Does the gps automatically geotag the images and have that data available for upload to a computer or do you need to use the ol.share app with a phone |
Answer: | The camera automatically geotags pictures *if* it had a valid GPS position at the time the picture was taken. This is an important distinction, because the TG-4 is a bit slow to acquire satellites, and can take several minutes to obtain a GPS lock. If you have had the camera turned off for more than an hour or two, expect a bit of a wait for GPSR the next time you turn it on. The good news is that it blinks the "GPS" indicator on the display screen until it acquires a position, so there's no question about whether or not any given picture is going to get a geotag. Also of interest, if you use it underwater, it will record the depth at which the picture was taken -- if you turn on the manometer in the settings. For reasons I don't understand, this feature is not enabled out of the box. |
Question: | Can you flip the screen (selfie mode) on this camera |
Answer: | Can't flip the screen but can take selfies. Just use the Wi-Fi connectivity with your phone to view and take pictures through your camera. |
Question: | Is the lense cover replaceable if it gets scratched? There does not appear to be any method of protecting it while its in your pocket, for example |
Answer: | I'm sure you could put your camera in for repair and the lense cover could be replaced. However, the thing to do is buy an Olympus CLA- TG conversion lens adapter for $19.95 and buy a Haze or Skylight filter 40.5mm to screw into it. Even a good filter is about &30. The filter will protect your camera and improve your pictures. Read up on the different filters you could use. At any rate this would be cheaper than camera repair. Hint - the adapter ring comes with a lens cover. |
Question: | I would like to buy this camera but I need to know what is coming in the box |
Answer: | The box has the camera, wrist strap, LI-92B lithium ion battery, USB-AC adapter, USB cable, and a CD with software. |

Shooting underwater is a breeze with TG-4’s customized Underwater Modes, which are activated fast via the Mode Dial. In addition to Snapshot, Wide, and Macro modes, TG-4 boasts an advanced Underwater HDR mode, which automatically combines multiple images to create vivid underwater scenes with enhanced light and shadow.
Powerful Macro Modes
Go beyond panoramas and shoot close! TG-4’s Variable Macro System offers four powerful options including Microscope (shoot as close as 1cm), Microscope Control (for precise magnification up to 44.5x), Focus Bracketing, and Focus Stacking, which takes multiple exposures to create one flawless image with maximum depth of field.
Live Composite Mode
TG-4’s Live Composite technology extracts the brightest areas from a sequence of interval shots and automatically combines them into one perfectly exposed image right before your eyes. By capturing dim light and bright areas simultaneously, you’ll create incredible night scenes and star trails you’ll share over and over again.
Built-in WiFi Connectivity
Sharing and uploading your outdoor adventures is quick and easy with TG-4’s built-in WiFi and the free OI.Share app. Sync smart devices with a QR code to wirelessly share photos and videos with a press of a button. Plus, compose your image, control camera settings, and shoot remotely all from your smart device.
Fast GPS + e.Compass
Accurate next-generation GPS with Landmark Recognition locks onto your location within 10 seconds, and the multifunction e.Compass provides barometric pressure, altitude, and water depth as it points the way home. Plus, the free OI.Track app geotags images with GPS data for sharing and uploading from your smart device.
Action Shooting Modes
Outdoor photography is all about action! TG-4 is equipped with multiple options for capturing epic snowboard runs and mountain bike races, including Full HD 1080p video, High-Speed Movie (for slow- motion playback), Interval Shooting, and Time Lapse Movie, which automatically combines individual images – taken at preset intervals – into a short film.
Lens Options & Accessories
Create your own ultimate rugged system! The waterproof fisheye converter (FCON-T01) captures ultra-wide angle shots, while the waterproof tele converter (TCON-T01) extends TG-4’s zoom range to nearly 7x. The LED ring guide (LG-1) provides even lighting for macro shots, and a variety of protective cases and straps complete the assortment.

User questions & answers
Question: | How much can the screen tilt? Does it go all the way perpendicular to the body |
Answer: | According to the specs posted at Olympus' website, the screen can tilt upward up to 85 degrees and downward up to 45 degrees. So, that's not enough tilt for selfies, but it's enough tilt to hold the camera either above your head (if you're in a crowd for example) or way below your head (if you're trying to take pictures discreetly, or take a picture of a small object near the ground). Hope this helps. |
