They may not handle the next strike very well and damage the important equipment you plug into this. It is best to purchase a new one so that it will work properly for the next lighting strike. If this is a common occurrence at your home, you should look into lighting arrestors and better ground for your electrical connection to the power grid. I would not trust the protection light (Green) if you are smelling any sort of burnt wire smell. The likelihood of a fire hazard is increased - if wire insulation has melted due to heat from the lighting strike. If I remember correctly, MOVs usually fail to an open state but I would not bet on it without testing. It is cheap insurance to throw this out and replace it with new.

The APC has a 90 degree plug, which I find far superior for concealing behind furniture, etc. APC comes with Equip warranty of $100k, plus 2630 joules vs 1800. The APC costs less and will do the job just fine, as would the AXTRA. The AXTRA says it made of metal, the APC is plastic housing. APC has a little better overall rating. Either one will do the job just tine under most circumstances.

Answer:	Mine was 9.8 as advertised.
Question:	What is the cable length of this charger
Answer:	Volts x Amps = Watts so a normal 15 Amp breaker on a 110v Circuit = 1650 Watts. So this product can handle 75% of the load of a normal 15 Amp circuit or 56% of a 20 Amp circuit. That is quite a bit of power unless you have some other high drawing devices (laser printer, hair dryer) plugged in as well.
Question:	How many charging devices can this charging tower support
Answer:	It is -0- joule and has no surge protection. it is not a surge protector. It is an extension cord; aka "power strip" which offers zero surge protection. it does however have overload protection of 1250 watts if someone were to plug a few power hungry devices into the extension cord which go over the 1250 watt rating on this extension cord, then the protection circuitry would trip to prevent an overload and you would then need to flip the switch on the extension cord and of course, limit the number of things you plug into it. Thus, this extension cord is just that - an extension cord with circuit protection to the device itself should someone plug in too many devices into it that exceed the safety rating of a maximum of 1250 watts. it has absolutely nothing to do with surge suppression. Reading through many comments here it is so surprising how many people think this extension cord is a surge suppressor with a joule rating which IT IS NOT. It is a nice quality extension cord though as I just bought one two days ago and am going to order two more. The specifics of this extension cord are clearly listed in the product description if people would only read. Hope this might help others as well as David A Coughlin. I agree with him on only one thing - that the product is good; albiet, an extension cord and not a surge suppressor.

Mounting Method

1. Measure the distance between the 2 keyhole slots with the same direction on the back of the power strip.

2. Punch 2 holes on the baseboard with the distance you just measured and insert two self-tapping screws.

3. Put the power strip into the screws and then pull it down a little bit. Please ensure that the screws slide into the smaller holes.

Answer:	It’s in the description. Rated for 4000j
Question:	Does this support QC 3.0 or even
Answer:	No. Just Power IQ. You can plug-in a third party QC 3.0/2.0 wall charger into one of the outlets and it’ll work but as far as the intergrated USB ports are concerned, they don’t support Qualcomm Quick Charge.
Question:	Any specs on the surge protection? Joule rating? Clamp timing
Answer:	I contacted Anker customer service with this same question. They claim the clamping voltage is 201V and the response time is "microseconds". They also provided copies of their ETL certification. I've never come across a surge protector with a clamping voltage as low as 201V, so I'm not entirely sure how much I believe the support rep...
