Answer:	Yes the BTR5 can be used this way. In fact this is how I use it and it works very well with near zero latency. The one issue I have found is that the usb cable that comes with the BTR5 is flimsy and loose so you may want to get a better and more robust usb cable so that you don't lose your connection to the pc. This is particularly annoying if you are using something like Protools with Headphones...once the USB connection is lost you have to restart your session to re-establish the link to the BTR5....other that that with most other applications you may not notice the connection drop/reconnect. I found the biggest boost came when using low impedance IEM’s (my Shures really sing and get a great bass boost, plus the soundstage opens up nicely). Larger headphones need more power than this thing will put out and Apple headphones wouldn’t be a good match either. It’s a great little AMP/DAC for travel.
