Since it does not specify surge protection, and since, according to another answer, it will work on 240 VAC, it does not have a surge protector. If it had a surge protector and was plugged into 240 VAC, the surge protector would kick in causing a small explosion.

For travel use, PowerPort Cube is designed to be compatible with all standard wall outlet voltages worldwide. I also attach a video and a picture for your reference. About the input--125V/10A located on the product and specification, it is the standard design for the US. In addition, according to the new changes in FCC(Federal Communications Commission) certification requirements, we are not allowed to print "90V - 264V" on the product itself. That's why it's different from the previous power strips. However, the function works the same.” So... yes it can be used overseas as long as you have the appropriate plug adapter for the plug end of the PowerPort cube. Just remember if you use it this way, don’t forget that if you plug anything into the cube in this fashion, the device you plug in would need to be capable of 240 V also. This is not a converter. Answer:	I have not used this in London but you need an converter that changes the voltage to 120 not just a plug converter, once the voltage is converted to 120 it will work as designed

Answer:	Most of the time, receptacles are about 1/8 to 1/4" out from the sheet rock. You can't remove the back of this, therefore it will not sit flush to sheet rock. Not a good design. I don't like the gap between the wall and this unit.

What causes an electrical surge?

In stormy weather, when thunder happens close to the transmission line, the conveying circuit will create induced surge voltage. This can also occur when a large electric device is turned on in the power circuit. Both types of induced surge voltage can interfere the electric devices connected. The first type can damage the devices.

Frequently used surge protection components

Surge protectors can be added to the power circuit to prevent the damage. The surge protectors are constructed with different types of surge protection components. The most frequently used ones are MOV, GDT and TVS. MOV has medium energy absorbing capability and response time, so it is widely used in simple surge protection circuits. GDT has large energy absorbing capability but longer response time; TVS has response speed less than 1Ns with small energy absorbing capability. All three of them are used together to construct professional surge protection circuits.

POWRUI 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit

POWRUI is one of the few Surge Protector makers which uses TVS, MOV and GDT to make 3-Level Surge Protection Circuit that absorbs the energy in steps, providing the best protection of the electrical devices from voltage spikes. Answer:	To give you an idea, USUALLY, outlets have a 15A circuit breaker attached to their circuit. This means that the total power of all devices connected to the outlets on the circuit attached to your 15A breaker is 1800W of power [15A * 120VAC = 1800 Watts]. This means that if the total power of all devices on the connected outlets reaches 1800W, the breaker will blow (And you will have to go to your breaker box and flip it）. These power strips are rated for 13A [13A * 120V AC = 1560 Watts] which is pretty close to the maximum power you can draw on the whole circuit. So, in short, you would have to daisy chain quite a lot of devices, to hit the 1560W max on the power strips. Think about how much you can power on all the outlets in one room. (i.e. computers, fans, stereos) without that 15A (1800W) circuit breaker blowing. If you want to daisy chain at will without worry of damaging the power strip, find one rated for 15A. Then your circuit breaker would below before you would cause any damage to the power strip. NOTE: The USB ports will NOT draw 2.5A each on your circuit breaker (Even though they supply 2.5A)... This has to do with the voltage. This is why it is better to think in terms of Watts and not amps. Without getting too technical, the calculation for power is [Voltage (V) * Current (A) = Power (W)]. So your 120V AC @ 15A can support up to 1800 Watts total from all devices plugged into the outlets on the circuit. The USB ports are 2.5A * 5V = 12.5W each. 12.5W each port * 3 USB ports = 37.5W (WELL under the 1800Watt max of your circuit). This is because the USB outlets run at 5V and not the 120V coming into your house. NOTE: This is all in an "IDEAL" world. There is a lot of power loss due to heat. So in an ideal world the number I have provided would work perfectly, but due to real world situations, the devices may pull more or less power, and differ slightly from the calculations above. i.e. your breaker might actually handle something like 14.8-15.2 amps depending on how precise it is, as they are NOT perfect. Same thing with your attached devices to the circuit, they may pull a little more or less power than they are rated for in the real world.
