The 4 mounting screws and plastic inserts did not work on my sheetrock. However, if you go to Home Depot and purchase a bag of 1/8 in. x 2 in. Zinc-Plated Toggle Bolt with Mushroom-Head Phillips Drive Screw (4-Pieces) for a cost of about $2.24 this will more than adequately secure the base mount to your ceiling and hold the weight of this video projector. Each of the mushroom-head phillips screws is rated to hold a weight of 25 lbs. So, multiple 4 x 25 and you'll see they can easily hold up this light video projector.
