10 best blank blu ray discs
Blank Blu-ray discs are a type of optical media used for data storage and media recording. They are associated with the categories of blank media, accessories and supplies, and electronics. Here's what you should know about blank Blu-ray discs and their relevance in these contexts:
Blank Media: Blank Blu-ray discs are a form of blank media, which means they are optical discs that come without pre-recorded data or content. Users can record, write, or "burn" their own data, videos, or audio onto these discs using compatible optical disc drives.
Accessories and Supplies: Blank Blu-ray discs are considered accessories and supplies in the field of electronics and media storage. They are used alongside optical disc drives, such as Blu-ray burners in computers or standalone Blu-ray disc recorders, to create permanent data storage or to distribute high-definition video content.
Electronics: Blank Blu-ray discs are closely related to electronics, especially devices that support Blu-ray technology. Blu-ray is a high-definition optical disc format used for storing and playing back high-quality video and audio content. Blank Blu-ray discs are compatible with Blu-ray drives and players.
Storage Capacity: Blu-ray discs come in different storage capacities, including single-layer (25GB) and dual-layer (50GB) options. This significant storage capacity makes them suitable for storing high-definition video, data backups, and archival purposes.
Write-Once or Rewritable: Blank Blu-ray discs are available in both write-once (BD-R) and rewritable (BD-RE) formats. BD-R discs are write-once, meaning once data is recorded onto them, it cannot be erased or overwritten, making them suitable for permanent data storage. BD-RE discs, on the other hand, can be erased and rewritten multiple times.
Data and Media Use: Blank Blu-ray discs are used for various applications, including data backups, creating high-definition video discs, archiving electronic data, and distributing large media files in high quality. They are often used by professionals in the video production and data storage industries.
Compatibility: When using blank Blu-ray discs, it's essential to ensure compatibility with your specific device. Not all optical disc drives or players support Blu-ray formats, so it's important to check your device's specifications to ensure it can read and write to these discs.
In summary, blank Blu-ray discs are optical media used for data storage and media recording, especially in electronics that support Blu-ray technology. They offer substantial storage capacity and are available in both write-once and rewritable formats, making them versatile for various applications, including data storage, high-definition video recording, and media distribution.

User questions & answers
Question: | May I print some text or pictures on the disk surface using Inkjet Printer |
Answer: | Not on these disks. There are others which allow you to do that. They have uniformly white surfaces. These disks do not. You CAN write on them with an indelible ink marker but that is it. |
Question: | what are coasters |
Answer: | When burning discs, "coasters" are discs that fail to burn. Thus they are ruined and only suitable to use as table coasters. |
Question: | i am not tech savvy at all, but since these discs are titled BD-R does that mean it will only play in some types of players? am referring to the whole dvd-r and dvd+r situation, where dvd+r was more popular then dvd-r as it played in more dvd players |
Answer: | That's a good question. These BD-R discs can only be authored using a Blu-Ray burner, and if authored as a video disc, they will work in most Blu-Ray players. I haven't sent a ton of these out the door, but I've never heard any complaints. There was no BD-R vs BD+R war. There was a competing technology, but Blu-Ray was up against HD DVDs, which was a completely different technology. Somehow, Blu-Ray won quickly and we averted WW III of the tech industry. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a BD+R.I think you'll have good success with these discs. |
Question: | Are these LTH or HTL |
Answer: | These are HTL. The BDA (bluray disk association) has a rule that manufactures are supposed to specifically say "LTH Type" on the package label if the disks are LTH (Verbatim seems good about that, but I'm not sure if all manufactures are). So in theory, if it doesn't say LTH then it should be HTL. The HTL are considered better and more long lasting. LTH has been proven to be less reliable. I think (am not sure) that another way to tell is: If you are looking at verbatim disks and you see the logo "AZO" then it's probably HTL. In some charts I saw of various verbatim media, AZO and LTH were always together. In contrast, if you see "MABL" then you are probably looking at a better combination of materials. MABL is an inorganic recording material which should last longer than organic dyes. So... the fact that these disks (verbatim #98397) say "MABL" and do not say LTH means that these should be a long lasting medium. I bought a 50 disc spindle of these... but haven't used them yet. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What external blu ray writer works specifically with these discs? I love the quality of prints these produce, but they don't work with my burner |
Answer: | These are 25GB. As a practical matter I have found it better to use double layer Blu-ray (50 gb) because blu-ray structures are generally incredibly huge. An 8 Gb MP4 will generally expand to 30GB or more when converted to blu-ray. |
Question: | How do I print on them? Is there a template that I can use? I looked at their website and couldn't find anything |
Answer: | Tell William yes |
Question: | Anybody tried using these discs with the asus bw-16d1ht blu-ray writer? how was it and is it compatible |
Answer: | Yes. Take a look at the Verbatim website and you will find a product image showing the surface of the disc. |
Question: | Does dual layer mean 2 layers on the same side or 1 layer on side A and a second on side B |
Answer: | As others have already commented, they will only work (read or write) if your HP desktop is equipped with a Blu-Ray optical drive. I had to add a drive in order to write to these disks. |
Question: | Are these htl or lth |
Answer: | I've never heard of a version number on a rewritable Blu-ray disc. It you are referring to HDMI 2.0, then this would not apply to Blu-ray discs. |
Question: | are these available in HTL |
Answer: | Mainstream Bluray disks support capacities of 25GB single layer or 50GB dual layer. DVD disks are limited to 5GB single layer or 10GB dual layer. |
Question: | has anyone tried to burn at a higher rate than 6X (as listed on the package)? success/failures |
Answer: | No. 0.5 TB = 500 GB, ten times as much data as a 50 GB blu-ray disk. |
Question: | Does anyone by chance know the media I.D. of these discs |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. This product is a "one-sided two-layer" product. I think that the other side can also print. Use a printer with a DVD print function. Product Details (Manufacturer Information) Type: BD-RE DL for recording Capacity: 50GB Recording time: Terrestrial digital 360 minutes / BS digital 260 minutes Recording speed: 1 to 2 times |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you erase and rewrite on these |
Answer: | I'm not sure who your cable provider is. However, if you have cable and your cable receiver is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD which has the built in DVR, you will be able to. Perhaps you might be able to exchange your present receiver and get this one from your provider. This 8300HD has an option on the content that you have already recorded on its' hard drive (DVR).After you've recorded some program you'll have the opportunity to "copy to VCR". All you do is connect a set of red, white & yellow RCA audio & video cables from the back of the cable receiver's audio & video outputs to the audio & video outputs of the Toshiba DR430. Then you insert a blank DVD-RW into the DR430 and program the timer for a few minutes more than the movie or program you're intending on putting onto the blank disc. Then you go to the "copy to VCR" option and at the same time the DR430 should start to record. Practice makes perfect. It might take you a while until you get it right but you will. Once you've gotten the knack of it you'll find out that the DVD-R blanks are much cheaper.I'm happy with the Memorex pack of 100.I only use the DVR-RW when i'm experimenting. Good luck. Bob. |
Question: | Are these htl or lth |
Answer: | The Dell Inspiron 3671 has an Intel i7 processor and is pretty advanced according to what you can research. I'm using an i3 and have no trouble erasing one of these disks with Nero and using it over and over again on my hp xw6600 workstation. |
Question: | are these available in HTL |
Answer: | No they don't, but ordinary slim CD/DVD storage cases do a perfect job protecting the discs from being scratched or broken. |
Question: | has anyone tried to burn at a higher rate than 6X (as listed on the package)? success/failures |
Answer: | I have no idea, but I wouldn't recommend these discs half way through the pack they stoped working. |
Question: | Does anyone by chance know the media I.D. of these discs |
Answer: | It would depend on the size of the images. Add up the sizes and figure they would fit on at least 4gb. You could get a blue ray writer and get a lot more. You would need to have a blue ray writerr. |
Question: | how long does it take to burn these at maximum speed and at maximum capacity |
Answer: | All you have to do is format it once and that's the only time you have to format it then just erace and record |
Question: | I have a show that is 13.5 gb. these discs are supposedly 25 gb yet it ended up being 2 discs (1 @ 9.24 gb and the other @ 4.26 gb). makes no sense |
Answer: | SLP = 4x. |
Question: | Can these be used for data and if so just how much data can be stored on these |
Answer: | This DVD-RW didn’t work in my 10 year old Magnavox. I think that’s the recorder’s fault though. But, if it had, it would have held at least 6hrs of video. Some older recorders had 8hr speeds too. The amount of time may depend on the model of your recorder, and it’s recording speeds. |
Question: | Are these discs HTL or LTH discs |
Answer: | I usually store photos on a flashdrive, but you should be able to copy your photos onto dvd by using your computer's dvd burner. |
