14 best wi fi range extender battery
A Wi-Fi range extender with a battery is a device designed to extend the coverage of your wireless network. These devices are also known as wireless repeaters or Wi-Fi boosters. The inclusion of a battery in a Wi-Fi range extender allows it to be portable, meaning you can use it in various locations without needing a constant power source. Here's some information about Wi-Fi range extenders with batteries:
Function: The primary purpose of a Wi-Fi range extender with a battery is to enhance the coverage of your existing Wi-Fi network. It receives the wireless signal from your router and then retransmits it, effectively extending the range of your Wi-Fi network.
Battery Power: The built-in battery provides the device with a source of power, making it suitable for use in areas where a power outlet may not be readily available. This feature is particularly handy for outdoor use, on the go, or in locations with unreliable power sources.
Portability: Because of the battery, these range extenders are often compact and easy to carry around. You can take them to a park, a campsite, or other places where you need Wi-Fi coverage beyond your home or office.
Setup: Setting up a Wi-Fi range extender with a battery is usually straightforward. You'll need to connect it to your existing Wi-Fi network and configure it through a web-based interface or a mobile app. Some models may come with a physical WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button for easy pairing with your router.
Battery Life: The battery life of these extenders can vary depending on the model and usage. Some may last for several hours, while others may provide extended operation. It's essential to check the specifications of the specific model you're interested in to understand its battery life.
Charging: Most Wi-Fi range extenders with batteries can be recharged using an included AC adapter or USB cable. Ensure that you keep the battery charged to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Usage Scenarios: These devices are useful in scenarios where you want to extend your Wi-Fi network to areas that are outside the range of your router. This could include outdoor events, remote workspaces, or even in vehicles.
Compatibility: Wi-Fi range extenders are typically compatible with most standard Wi-Fi routers. However, it's a good practice to check for compatibility with your specific router model.
Security: Like any network device, it's crucial to ensure the security of your Wi-Fi range extender. Use strong passwords and encryption methods to protect your extended network from unauthorized access.
Wi-Fi range extenders with batteries are versatile tools for improving wireless network coverage, especially in situations where power outlets are limited. They can help you stay connected in various settings, providing the convenience of extended Wi-Fi coverage without the need for a fixed power source.

Question: | Does it play a different sound for each ring doorbell? The old chime would not. Does the new one |
Answer: | AFAIK you need to buy two in order to get a chime for each doorbell then link them separately to each ring. Then you have to change the tone for both doorbells to get a unique sound for each door. |
Question: | Does this chime work only when the button is pushed on the doorbell device |
Answer: | You can also set it up to make a chime when it detects motion. I usually have this setting turned off so it only chimes when someone pushes the button. |
Question: | How long does this new chime work? i have 2 chimes & a chime pro. only one works. the others flash & will not connect or just doesn't work at all |
Answer: | Mine also quit working after 2-2.5 years! Do these things come with a warranty? I would also like to know how long this one lasts. It's ridiculous if I have to buy one of these every 2.5 years! C'mon Ring, improve your chime quality! |

User questions & answers
Question: | can i watch on my tv |
Answer: | Depends on your TV or your setup. It will work with Alexa. You have to enable the Ring skill and link your Ring Account. Easiest to do on the web at alexa.amazon.com. Then you can use the Firestick or Fire TV. Then you can say 'Alexa, show my Floodlight Cam' or whatever you call it. Current Samsung TV's detect it too but you may have to go the the Samsung SmartThings hub to enable it. |
Question: | Every video/review I have read shows the camera pointed straight ahead. There doesn't appear to be much left/right adjustment. How much |
Answer: | Ours actually had a good amount. When it comes out the box, it is straight. But where we mounted it, we wanted it angled to the left. I would say that we had probably 30 degrees? Plus you are able to adjust the zone that it responds to. |
Question: | Can the flood light bulbs be changed out when they burn out |
Answer: | Simple answer is No or not easily. Ring will not fix or replace the bulb...Oh if you buy the extended warranty and they send you a whole new unit...What a waste!!! Or without the ExWar, you have to buy a new one to replace it so have to spend another $160 plus tax (they will give you a $100 discount to get a new one) for at max a $25-$30 bulb replacement! How is that for not being a part of the new Green Deal! This is a perfect example of customer NO-service in mind of the consumer SO BUYER BEWARE WHEN PURCHASING RING!!!! I guess I will try to jimmy-rig it like one of the consumers reported here to try but it outrageous and good bye to Ring, last one I purchase and I will tell any and all about this little (BIG) issue when purchasing an Ring product. |

A one year warranty is included when you buy the camera. A subscription to Ring Protect Plus is currently $10/mo or $100/year. |
Question: | what is the range of motion sensor |
Answer: | They shortened the range with an update in Sept 2019. We are lucky to get more than 10 feet out of it, and by the time the Ring is activated and alerts us the person is already at the door. We are fighting for them to change back for removing an advertised feature or full refund. |
Question: | Can more than one camera be hooked up to a single solar panel |
Answer: | Currently, i have two ring cameras running off of an aftermarket outdoor solar panel i purchased on Amazon which had TWO USB ports out. Both cameras are always at 100% power. |

User questions & answers

Answer: | Hello, Great question! Yes, the all new Ring Stick Up Cam uses the same Ring branded lithium battery as our other home security cameras and doorbells. If you have any additional questions, please visit us at ring.com/help or by emailing us at [email protected]. Thank you, Ring Team |
Question: | How long does the battery last with one charge |
Answer: | Have 5 placed outside, 3 most active get 15-25 Alerts a day. Other 2, only 3-5 a day. After 4 months 58-82% shown on battery life of 5 camera. Thought battery would discharge faster from some reviews, so got couple spares. Now just waiting to see when get below 30%, then will switch out. |
Question: | Why can I not setup motion zones for alerts? (can do this with the newest indoor model) Only get a pie shaped "range." Will this problem be fixed |
Answer: | I have inquired about the same issues. You can do a pie, and then exclude any of the 3 zones of the pie, but apparently, they took away the most useful functionality of their entire system. The new camera only allows the arc to go 1/2 of the view range making the usefulness limited at best. Support has reached out to try to “help” but in lieu of a software or hardware change, I’m not sure what can be done to rectify the situation short of getting a Gen 2 camera with the better controls. |
Question: | If you use the camera indoors, is there a way to turn off the camera while you are home |
Answer: | Two things: 1) If you plan on ONLY using it indoors, then go with the NEW cheaper $60 Ring camera. It is intended for indoor use only AND still uses the old motions zones instead of the motion arch. Plus it offers all the same benefits as this camera (except it is indoor use only). 2) I too had a similar question when I purchased the new Ring Indoor camera for $60. My solution was to purchase an Amazon Smart Plug. Then, in the Alexa app I an event to at a specific time to turn the smart plug on and a second event to turn it off. I don't need the camera on when I'm home and I wanted a way to automate the process. It works great. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Smart-Plug-works-Alexa/dp/B01MZEEFNX/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=amazon+smart+plug&qid=1573875922&sr=8-1 |

Question: | Will this camera detect outdoor motion if mounted inside, close to a window |
Answer: | My daughter has installed several of these cameras in her business. She was recently broken in the middle of the night into and the camera that she had pointed directly at the glass door showed the burglar outside on the patio and they caught the break in clearly. With the help of that camera showing the door being forced and other cameras throughout the business, the alarm on her phone allowed her to call the police even before the alarm company did. They caught the would be thief within minutes. |
Question: | What kind of plug is with the mini cam |
Answer: | Cable end connected to the Mini Camera is Micro USB, and the other end connected to the power source (any phone charger) is USB-A. |
Question: | Is the system secured from hackers |
Answer: | Nothing is 100% secure, what you need to do is balance the risk vs reward. MOST people will NEVER be hacked or have any issues.. maybe .. 1-2% will. My opinion only, I can not speak or influence anyone. If networks are secured and have passwords etc.. hacking is very rare and I have not had any issues with it so far. |

Question: | Are you able to turn off the spotlight and just use the infrared |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Can the cable pass through the top of the window? I have a nest like that now as the power cable is flat |
Answer: | The 20' long cable is round, about the thickness of a standard ball point pen (about 7/16 inch or 1 cm), and the plug at the end is just as one would get on a power tool or heavy duty extension cord. If you were to open your window, pass the plug and cord through, then try to close the window down on the cord, there would be a definite GAP where air/rain would come through. I would NOT recommend this. If possible, you may consider running the cord up your exterior wall to your roof soffit, and power it through your attic. You can use an extension cord on it as well, just make sure it's not accessible to anyone who would want to disable your cameras. I have learned that the RING app does NOT inform you if power has been lost the camera, so the burglar could just unplug it, rob you, and you'd not know until you checked the camera feed or came home.... If you're plugging it into an exterior outlet within reach of bag guys, consider replacing the outlet cover with a locking one so they can't unplug it. |

Question: | How do i know if my tv has a powered usb port? if your tv has a usb port does that mean it’s a powered one |
Answer: | The USB port on your TV will provide power. But you won’t kbow until you try it with the fire stick to know whether or not it has SUFFICIENT power. |
Question: | Does this work with Echo Auto |
Answer: | Hi! This is made to work with the Amazon Fire TV 4K. |
Question: | Other than the shape, what is the difference between this and the fatter-looking one for fire tv stick |
Answer: | The stick model has a 500mah battery, this model has a bigger 2000mah battery. |
Question: | Is this necessary? i have a fire stick 4k that i use a generic micro usb cable to power directly from the tv. what does this product do |
Answer: | I bought this based upon the Reviewer from Dec. 29th 2019's feedback and discovered everything they said is wrong. It does not keep the Fire TV Stick powered when the USB Port on the TV is turned off. When I purchased this unit myself I charged it via a standard USB Charger Block as the instructions said that any USB charging source could be used and after hours of charging decided to move it to the TV and I powered up everything and watched TV for another few hours and decided to test the unit by turning off the TV for a few minutes and noticed that the Blue dots on the device went out immediately and after 3 min. turned the TV back on and the Fire TV 4K Stick did a cold boot! The battery inside this device doesn't keep the Fire TV 4K Stick powered at all when the USB port is turned off. I don't see any reason to own this device as I have a USB 3.0 port on my Samsung TV and it seems to power the Fire TV 4K Stick just fine! I play 4K Ultra Content all of the time and have not seen any issues previously so maybe they are talking about very old TV sets that only had USB 2.0 ports? Otherwise, save your money. |
