Trouble Shooting Guide:

1. Q: No auto switch or no signal on the output device when there’s only 1 HDMI signal source.

A: For some devices, the HDMI switch may not work when only one input device is power on due to insufficient power. In this case, please turn on two or all the three source devices to try.

2. Q: The picture in not clear on the HDMI displayer.

A: Each cable connected to this device should be standard V1.4 19Pin HDMI cables and less than 16ft(5 meters)

3. Q: There are picture and sound interference on the HDMI displayer.

A: First please make sure the connection are correct. And then check if there is any source interfere near this HDMI switch and the cables used to connect between sources(such as the power cable). You can also adjust (lower) the resolution of the input devices to enhance data transmit efficiency.

4. Q: The picture is ok but sound drops out.

A: Please turn on the HDMI audio output on the input HDMI device.

5. Q: Only got sound on the displayer.

A: Could be because compatibility issue, try lower the resolution of HDMI input sources.

Whichever number the switch is set to that's the device that will be usable. So to answer ur question tech yes u can hook both ur sound bar and TiVo box up to the tv, unfortunately u can only use one of them at a time.
