Answer:	These are 2 different type of speakers ,to me I like Akams Razor (simplest is best) the Edifiers sound good and with a 4 inch bass and tweeter with a port will be larger maybe 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide and 6 deep (Im guessing) the Bose also sound very good if you are like me and cant afford any more than $100 . Bose sound very good use up less room and use more electronics to get their sound ,they are smaller if room is a problem . both sound very good for the price ,I want to save $30 so Im getting the Edifier the Bose will go back but I would be happy with either check out the Edifiers $99 self powered speakers

Question:	can you leave the back on/off switch on all the time, using the volume knob to turn off and on
Answer:	I have the speakers in my bedroom and measured the power consumption. The speakers consumes around 11-12 Watt while it's sitting in idle. The back side panel gets a little hot because of this power consumption. The front switch (volume knob) does not disconnect the power, judging by the back panel temperature. Only the back panel switch can truly disconnect power. A paranoia person wouldn't want to leave it on as it may take the worst possible path as components age. Now about the idling power consumption - it can be justified by a class A amplifier, which is supposedly providing better sound quality.

Answer:	Absolutely. This is how connecting the Mackie's and a Polk PSW10 to a computer worked for me:1) Mini Jack into PC audio Card for surround speakers. (1 of 5 inputs) This used a mini jack to RCA cable which was included withe the speakers.2) Mini Jack into PC audio Card for Subwoofer. (1 of 5 inputs) This used a mini jack to RCA cable.* NOTE: If a person's computer only has one audio out, they simply use a splitter to make two audio outs.3) Set Computer Audio software for 2.1 Sound (Oddly, my software required setting to 5.1 with rear speakers off).4) Set Subwoofer volume knob to 1/2-3/4. Set the crossover to ~80-90Hz.5) Play music or a movie and set the monitor volume for a desired match with the Sub.Now that the sub and monitors match volume, don't touch the volume knob on the sub or the monitors. Just use your computer to adjust volume up/down. The sub has a sensor which will turn itself on/off. One monitor has a switch on the back to turn the pair on/off.

Do you have an interface, are you just using a laptop, and what speakers are you planning to connect to it. Answer:	These speakers are basic book shelf speakers. They will sound fine with most any type of home audio output device.

Answer:	35 watts, class A/B amplifier (class D amp. is the best).
Question:	Is there any ground loop humming? I don't see any way of grounding these
Answer:	grd. loop hum is generated by other hardware, audio/vidio equip. not correctly grounded plugged into the same circuit (as the speakers) within your space. the speakers themselves don't generate any hum, they only pick up the incorrectly grounded equip. hum already there. ground loop issues are not easy to correct but many times they have to do with a 'home theatre / cable/ set top box' set up. one way to eliminate grd. loop hum is to simply plug the speakers into a different circuit on your elect. panel, different from the plug and circuit picking up the hum. the other ways, more difficult, are to isolate the offending piece of equip. and/or correct the grounding issue with the: equip., circuit/panel wiring, overall space/house earth ground.

Question:	How do they handle bass
Answer:	the sound frequency rang is 80hz-20,000khz. That means they are not capable of low frequency extension below 80hz. Which means you will not hear any sub-bass at all, and any bass notes will be on the high end of the bass spectrum, i.e., no mid-bass. In order to hear any real bass, you will need to add a subwoofer, which is difficult because these have no subwoofer outs, so you'd have to run them through a preamp with subwoofer outs to separate the bass channels at the source. With that being said, they are very clean studio monitors for desktops or small rooms. I have owned these as well as the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, which do have a subwoofer. The Klipsch aren't marketed as studio monitors, but they are tuned very nicely for music listening and provide all the bass you could ever ask for. The CR3s are maybe a little bit cleaner in the mids and highs, but there is no way to make bass magically appear without a subwoofer, because the frequency response just can't go that low.

I use mine in a diesel shop environment that is always loud and high noise levels, especially from air operated tools. these put out great sound at 3/4 volume enough to be heard 2 work bays from mine. the main reason for my purchase was because i was so tired of my bluetooth cutting out, the endless battery replacement , and no feeling from the speaker I used to use... these are great thumpers !

Answer:	This speaker comes with a power cable, but audio cables are not included. The speaker has one XLR and one 1/4" TRS connector, so you can purchase whatever cables work with your system.
Question:	How's the bass on this? Is it boomy or muddy
Answer:	Realistically, if you are working with contemporary EDM or any electronic music with sounds below 45Hz, you need a sub. Don't get me wrong, the LSR305s are excellent, clearer than the 308s. For material like Country, the bass is sufficient. Even for Rap and EDM you can adjust and place them just right, and estimate how things will sound on a big club or car system. But pairing the LSR305s with e.g. a LSR310S sub gives you the real thing, though sub placement is SO critical it's another rabbit hole.
Question:	Do these hiss? I sent back lsr305 due to the hissy tweeters
Answer:	Some do. It’s normal. on the ones that do they are extremely quiet. The “hiss” is only audible while the speakers are not in use and is caused by the internal amp. I wouldn’t call it a hiss as much as it is just static noise from the amps unused electricity. If you don’t like that, maybe these aren’t the ones for you. But I will say that most other powered monitors I have used make this exact same noise. With mine mounted on the wall about 2 feet in front of me and 2 feet above me pointed down at my seat I cannot hear the hiss until ~90%+ volume, And again, exclusively when they are not in use. Answer:	This happens if you have the main speaker near power. Try moving it forward and back from where you have it and left and right. You may here it change and adjust it till it stops. Also ensure your speaker wire is fully clamped in. It’s just interference

Answer:	The Bass is okay but not heavy like most bass heads enjoy. I would not get these if you require large bass output unless you want to buy a bass speaker to go with these. Though if that’s the case you may just want to spend more on other studio monitors.

Answer:	As the photo on the product page shows, you would plug the male end of an XLR cable into the monitor for balanced operation. The monitors follow the standard practice of having female XLR connectors as inputs, just as you would find on mixing boards and other studio equipment. Outputs generally have male XLR connectors. To accomodate this, standard XLR cables have a male connector on one end and a female one on the other. An unusual arrangement, should you ever encounter one, would require a non-standard cable or a gender-changing adapter.
