Answer:	The receiver is rented to you by DTV. The kit comes with coax cable but no HDMI cable. The HDMI must be purchased separately. Make sure the receiver is set up to receive HD channels as well as the Dish!

Answer:	Works perfectly. I chose the standard HD H24-200 instead of the DVR because I generally use this receiver though a DC to AC power inverter when boon dock camping using battery power. It uses a lot less power than a DVR model. Good choice
