It'll turn out leaf spring U-bolt nuts and head bolts on a 7.3L Ford. If you're trying to twist out pivot pins, it's best to break them loose first with a breaker bar and then draw them out with this impact. It's the most powerful 1/2" drive impact I've ever worked with. |

A hog ring anvil retains the socket with a steel ring in a groove on the square drive, as on most air impact wrenches. The hog ring anvil tends to be more ornery to fit sockets onto and off from, but also retains them better. I think the hog ring anvil is traditionally used on air impact wrenches because it is stronger, but DeWalt wouldn't be offering the detent if it wasn't up to the task. Most people will probably be happier with the detent anvil, unless you're working up in the air or over water. |
