It makes the Mac's built-in DAC sound shrill. On lower-end headphones it might not be detectable. And, of course, everyone's hearing is different. I can listen to Google Play streaming much longer on my Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones through an external DAC than without one.

Answer:	I’ve never had any line noise or popping using optical. That is via a TV not computer but can’t imagine it would be different. The only popping I’ve ever had was if the power was pulled from the unit and then plugged back in while the volume was up but you shouldn’t ever need to unplug it, it doesn’t run hot or draw power when the switch is off.

Answer:	Do you mean cassettes? I Googled "dassettes" and came up with nothing. This is a CD player, so it plays CD's (formal ones as well as ripped ones), and it has a USB port to play a music-loaded thumb drive. It also has a FM (no AM) radio.

Answer:	I think the answer is two part: (1) yes it will work with high resolution flac files, at least with my test over usb. I downloaded a test (24bit/352.8kHz) file and everything was fine. (2) As alx already stated, valid sampling rates are 32/44/48, so I believe down/up sampling will need to occur with other sources.
Question:	Does this DAC require LPCM or PCM in S/PDIF input signal. Most TV has option to output in PCM format but not all. My LG DU-37LZ30 has DTS/AC-3 output
Answer:	I'll test this when I get home. I haven't tried to use the toslink port on my DAC, but I'll follow up within the next five or six hours.Edit: I can only conclude that the USB connection is the only input and that the optical is out. I connected this unit via TOSLINK to my PC's optical port, and then connected the USB cable to a USB power adapter in a power strip to guarantee that no actual input is running over USB. After connecting headphones to the 3.5mm out jack and making my motherboard's optical jack the default device, I received no sound regardless of bitrate setting.I then unplugged everything and connected the USB cable to a computer instead of a power strip, making the computer's default playback device the USB DAC. I ran the TOSLINK from the Signstek DAC to a FiiO TAISHAN D03K TOSLINK to 3.5mm/RCA DAC and connected my headphones to the FiiO unit. As I type this, I'm listening to music from my computer using this configuration.It seems that the only use for this unit's optical jack is out, effectively allowing this to be both a USB DAC and a USB to TOSLINK adapter, bypassing its abilities as a DAC. Very handy if, for example, you have a laptop that lacks optical out and you have a pricey optical in-only DAC that you'd like to use with the laptop.That being said, if anyone can get this unit to behave as an optical in DAC, please let me know how you've done this. If I can replicate it, I'll happily edit my answer accordingly.

Answer:	The USB is the ONLY input for both power AND the digital audio signal passed from a USB device outputting a digital audio signal. The Optical and Coaxial are digital OUTPUTS to feed the digital input of another device or DAC. The Headphone and (L) (R) are analog outputs to feed the analog inputs of some kind of amplifier that then feeds speakers. Answer:	I hesitated to answer this question since it's about 4 years old now, but I'm sure somebody else will be wondering the same thing. I must say it's one of the most illogically comical questions that I've ever read. Let me explain. It's like asking if using jet fuel will improve the grass cutting performance of a lawnmower. Obviously, it won't. You just need a more efficient lawnmower. The DAC + preamp + plus headphone amp merely will make the headphones louder but NOT make them sound better. In fact, most low-cost headphones (in the $10 - $30 range) typically suffer from sibilance (hiss), muffled bass, tinny highs, too dominant mid-range, and distortion at higher volumes due to using low-quality components. Therefore, it's highly probable that the AudioQuest DragonFly will make cheap headphones sound exponentially worse. As the old saying goes: "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear."

Answer:	If you have Windows 10, your computer will automatically download and install driver once you plug in the K5 Pro (and turn it on). However, I think this will limit to 24 bit and 192K. To get 32 bit and 768K, you will need to down load Fiio's own driver. Google "Fiio's Support" to find the driver.
Question:	Will this improve the quality of music streamed from Spotify? I currently have my sound card setting to 24bit 192khz
Answer:	No. Music streamed from Spotify will always be compressed. To really notice this Fiio DAC you will need a FLAC audio file and a good pair of headphones.

Answer:	That depends, the G6 is a clean sounding dac/amp, surprisingly good for a "gamer" oriented device, people think creative, gamer type device and think its junk without trying it, its actually very good. Its has a high quality dac and amp. If you're using the k5 pro or g6 for gaming, the g6 wins. The k5 has no mic input so that is a major issue especially on console, pain on PC. Also the G6 can easily drive headphones up to 300 ohm, i mean really push em hard. For music both are good, the k5 pro has more power so if youre only using it for music and you have 600 ohm headphones Then k5 pro all the way. I have both. I was using my k5 daily until I got my schiit hel, now i use the hel as its much simpler to keep it hooked to my PC for gaming and music. My G6 is hooked to my ps4. The difference in sound quality isnt big at all, and software for the g6 is really good, you can do so much with it and tweak the sound to your liking. With the k5 you're stuck with no software, you cant save different sound profiles to it. Even if creative SB stops support for G6, we still have the current software which is good and theres been zero need to update it. Unless you have high ohm cans, you will likely be disappointed going G6 to k5. If its just music or you don't need a mic, k5 pro is very good
