Answer:	If you wish to connect the new controller, you need to sync the controller by pressing the red button by where the batteries are inserted and the red sync button on the Wii console. BUT, you also need to make sure the other controllers are on. This is so that the new controller can understand what number/position it needs to sync to. At first, mine did not seem to work. However, once I turned on the other two, my new controller's third light blinked and it was able to find its position as the third controller. Come on and works like a charm!
